just do a factory reset
And after that try rooting your phone
(I always factory reset my phone whenever I am having problems with it. That's why I suggest it to many users )
PS: I m not 100% sure if it will work or not but you can give it a try
=> which exploit u used to root using framaroot? Gandalf works for Samsung

maby a stupid question but does restoring it to factory downgrade the android version ?
I would not mind running a earlier android version if was the only way for me to have it rooted.

No it will not downgrade your phone.. it only restores settings.
If you want to downgrade your phone, you will have to root it and then have to flash strck firmware
Press thanks if I have helped

No need of root to downgrade! Just download the previous firmware version from sammobile.com and flash it with ODIN.

Hmmmm you don't need root access to flash using odin (I came to know about it just now thanks to @sanjay.addya )
So you can just download the old stock firmware and flash it properly using odin.
Follow this tutorial to know how to flash stock firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505436

Dont worry since rooting failed you have no problem with ota updates.
But i suggest to root it ( 5.1.1) to have the best user experience.

Normally unrooting from supersu has no issues but in order to be 100% safe flashing back stock kdz is recommended

Ota updates dont erase your data. If you have international H995 (V15a) root is compatible

Yes you lose your data if you go back to stock (factory defaults)
It is important to backup your data regularly
For example if you are now at 5.1 1 and you root and you want to unroot after a while, the safest way to unroot is to flash 5.1.1 kdz again and return to stock 5.1.1

Rooting with unconnected device

Please, I need to know how to root my Nvidia Shield Tablet without connecting it to the wi-fi.
I tried both KingRoot and Towelroot but they need to be connected to internet in order to work.
I need just the device to be offline: obviously I have a working connection on my laptop.
Thanks for helping!

Updating Question

It says here that I cannot update if I rooted my phone,
Is there any way that I can update my phone with this new update, and not having any issues at all.
Kindly see attached file, I freaked out when I read this.
Sorry to trouble you guys, I'm just a newbie with this kind of rooting thing, seeking out help. Thanks
Up.. Please I need your help, I just want to know if it is safe or not. Or if there's any workaround with this one.
Thanks
If you have a root, do not try to update on usual way - can damage your phone!
