Updating Question - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It says here that I cannot update if I rooted my phone,
Is there any way that I can update my phone with this new update, and not having any issues at all.
Kindly see attached file, I freaked out when I read this.
Sorry to trouble you guys, I'm just a newbie with this kind of rooting thing, seeking out help. Thanks

Up.. Please I need your help, I just want to know if it is safe or not. Or if there's any workaround with this one.
Thanks

If you have a root, do not try to update on usual way - can damage your phone!

Sorry but I don't have enough knowledge for this. Thanks

You can install updates manually when Asus release them on the website I always do, you will not be able to update the normal way OTA as you have been doing so far.

There any post to do so as you say manually?
I imagine it would be removing and installing CWM recovery asus stock Original and perform the manual update as you say, I apologize for so many questions but I have difficulty understanding the post translated into Spanish thanks.

Read this thread about updating manually http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317114
I would recomend using TWRP recovery and not CWR when you have unlocked your bootloader. By the way when I update all I do is restore a stock backup, then download the update from Asus to my pc then extract the zip file from within the downloaded file then transfer the zip file to my tablets sdcard and then go in to recovery and install, you will loose root and TWRP recovery but with Motochopper it's not a problem now rooting is so easy then once rooted use Goomanager to install TWRP this has never failed for me.

[Q] ROM Update on CWM recovery

I have the MT7 TL10 international. The phone is rooted, BL unlocked and CWM installed. Today I received notification that an OTA update on B123 is available. I think I've read somewhere that the update will not work with CWM so I have to go back to stock recovery. I know how to do that but I just want to confirm with you experts whether or not IT is needed.
And in case I go back to stock recovery, do I just have to flash CWM again after the ROM update and it's all good again?
Thanks in advance for your feedback-much appreciated

Dear Simona,
thank's for your reply. If I get you correctly IT is needed to go back to stock recovery before flashing the OTA update.
But what about my second question. If I flash CWM after the ROM update, will the phone still be rooted, BL unlocked, CWM recovery and SU installed?
My apologies if this is a silly question, but I'm not an Android expert - just an user....

I removed it with the "full unroot" function in Super SU.
The problem is I don't want to flash everything because it will remove my stuff which is what im trying to avoid.
I might just backup everything and call it a day haha.

Dont worry since rooting failed you have no problem with ota updates.
But i suggest to root it ( 5.1.1) to have the best user experience.

Normally unrooting from supersu has no issues but in order to be 100% safe flashing back stock kdz is recommended

Ota updates dont erase your data. If you have international H995 (V15a) root is compatible

Yes you lose your data if you go back to stock (factory defaults)
It is important to backup your data regularly
For example if you are now at 5.1 1 and you root and you want to unroot after a while, the safest way to unroot is to flash 5.1.1 kdz again and return to stock 5.1.1

Problems updating X920D with OTA

Hello guys. Today, I received OTA update to my HTC Butterfly X920D but I'm unable to install it. When I tap on Install, device just reboots. It should get into recovery mode and install but as I have TWRP installed, maybe that's a reason. Device is ROOTed, S-ON and I have custom recovery installed (TWRP). Can you help me fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.
