GT-P6210 - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

all of a sudden out of the blue my tab 7.0 plus GT-p6210 wont charge or turn on , i contacted samsung they sent me a new charger and cable , when i plug it in the batter icon shows up on screen but it doesnt move , its stuck with a chargeing circle on it.
i've tried all button combo's and removing battery , letting it charge for 2 days , anything else i can do before i call to ship it in for replacement
also how can i unlink this device from my gmail account setup on it before i ship it in .

geez all the views and not 1 responce.....

If you cannot get into your device or reset it then you can change your google password which will effectively disconnect from your account.
I did not realize the battery was removable in this device.
My battery does not have a charging circle just stacks inside the battery as it charges (4.0.4 on mine).
Can you see if from your computer? (guessing no)
From what you have tried replacement is probably your best bet.
Since you had the battery out is there a hardware rest switch inside?
Here is another threat about holding the power for 15 seconds.... probably not your issue but worth a mention.

[Q] Atrix2 battery issues , seems hardware

Searched all over but never came across a similar issue posted anywhere.
When I connect the charger while the phone is on... it "shows charging". But is does charge "real slow" .
Then when I "take off the charger" , It "still shows charging"(lightning sign).
After I "reboot" to get rid of that , it boots up with red "Low battery". But it doesn't turn off for a while ,which hints the battery itself has no issue.
Whereas when I connect in and then disconnect the USB from my "PC" , it still indicates the USB connected sign.
When charging while the phone is "off", it shows charging (with the large battery sign) but the charged level keeps @ 0%.
PS: If I keep the phone turned off while the battery is inside for 2,3 days.. the batteries drain without any clue , the phone won't turn on.
Tried all factory reset & calibrating stuff , I start to wonder if this is an issue with my USB port or the battery connectors. I might be needing experts help ..Please help
[I do not hv any warranty left for this]
Maybe you need to try a new battery. That's all.

Yeah thnx bud, I could try that If I know for certain . Else it would be a waste.
What worries me is the issue with the "USB connection to PC". Which has nothing to with the battery circuit.
Have you tried another cable?
Sent from my MB865 running CM10
The issue seems to be probably with either the USB cable or the port.try another cable to be sure..

Discharge while off sounds like a bad battery. Does it lose charge if you charge it and take it out of the phone?

Tried that , when I take it out and keep ,the charge stays perfect. That's why I'm guessing the battery is ok .

Yeah tried another cable . Made no difference . I think I should try replacing the port . Hope that's not very expensive .
Updates for my problem, (still no clue though).
I messed up with some MOTOMIZER app and happend to change the dalvik heap size to default(don't remember the value) . Just after this the phone boots only up to "Rethink possible" screen.
It won't let me flash via fast boot , "battery low cannot program" comes up.
Then I bought an external charger and a 3rd party battery . Fully charged the battery via the ext; charger and went to fast boot. No surprises , "battery low cannot program" came up again.
It seems the phone does not recognize the full voltage of the battery , even it's fully charged.
Now If anyone with some clue, pls help me out here.
I would suggest flashing with a factory cable. With it you pull the battery and the cable powers the phone so you can flash. I have one and it's been very handy. Give me a little while and I'll post a couple of links. You can make your own or buy one from xda member sKoRpn for like $10 shipped in the U.S. if you dont want to wait on me jump over to the kindlefire general forum.

Nice..Really appreciate man. I really didn't know about these factory cables. But just now I did my research.
Then again I doubt whether my phone recognizes the voltage. Anyways , definitely worth a shot.
I found some cables for sale. There are not recommended specially for Atrix2 but for Kindle Fire , Atrix , Droid Razr etc . Will those be compatible with A2 ??
Yeah man, It works on all moto phones and the kf. Really useful when you don't have a full charge on the phone.

Sounds to me like you need to get a replacement phone via warranty. Possibly the battery too. If you are with AT&T call the warranty department. If not, then call motorola and try and use their 1 year warranty to get this fixed.

Sounds like the infamous power button bug...basically your power button is stuck down (the actually inner button.. not the outside casing of the button) or its just malfunctioning... there's quite a few threads with this topic...do a search and see if you can find a solution

USB OTG - Bricked

Hello,
I ordered a USB OTG cable from Amazon. It arrived within a couple of weeks from Hong Kong. It worked on my Nexus 7 great.
However, I plugged it into my SIII, and immediately, my phone shut off. It won't turn back on.
I've tried:
Pulling battery
Pulling battery and waiting 10 minutes
Pulling battery and holding power button for a few seconds, and re-inserting battery
Plugging into computer (don't see it in Device Manager)
Trying a different battery
Holding down home - volume up - power
Letting the phone sit without battery for two hours
Charging the phone (the light does not come on)
I can't think of anything else to try, but I don't know why a USB OTG would cable would do this. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Hold volume button up + home and then hold power should go into download mode.

Hong Kong says it all. lol Sounds like you shorted the phone. Can you get volume down/power/home to get into download or is all black. If all black may need to send for replacement or Jtag. If fixable with Jtag should show up in device manager.

I know, and usually I would be wary of this kind of stuff, but the product itself had pretty decent reviews.

Nope, it's all black. Well, my phone is unlocked and rooted. It won't show up in device manager. Do you think I'll be able to send it back to Samsung for a replacement? Unfortunately, I didn't buy the phone directly from Verizon, although it is brand new. Thanks prdog for your help.
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd post this here in case anyone else has this problem. I did the same thing to my phone and emailed mobiletechvideos to see if they could fix it. This was the reply:
Unfortunately that has been damaging many people’s phones. It damages the PMIC and the device is not repairable by any of our services or any other shop that I know of.

So, the bad cable burns out the power management chip. Seems to be happening more than you'd think. I know it will be a while before I trust another OTG cable.
I ordered one guess im not gonna even try it lol

[Q] Tab Dead?

Can i get some help?
I was downloading a file on my 6800 when it froze, at about 20% battery remaining, so i help the power button to reset the device.
Once it booted up to the lock screen, i entered my lock pattern and it froze again.
So i reset the device again, but this time it was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 screen. So i reset the device again. Same problem.
Now i am not getting anything. I have plugged the power cord into the tab and i am not getting any indication that it is charging. Nothing.
I cannot get into download/recovery because nothing is happening.
Is my device truly dead?
P.s. How do i find the serial number? Its supposed to start with R, but i cant find it on the device or the box.
Let the tablet discharge completely, then recharge it again. And try booting up normally, in recovery or download mode. Serial number can be found at the back of the device. If not check your original purchase bill.

The tab is essentially a paper wieght. There is no indication that that it has any power, and will not boot into anything as nothing happens when the power button is pressed. So I cannot discharge it since i dont there is no indication of the remaining battery life and charging it shows no indication of current battery level.
The serial number is not on the back of the device, and i checked on my other tablet the P1000 it isnt there either, there is only the model number, the IMIE number and where it was made.

M out of station at the moment. Will be home next Monday. Will inform you if the serial number is printed on the box or not. I guess you'll need a zig cable to bring your device in download mode. Is your tab still under warranty? If so I guess it'll be better to take it to a service center.

Mine has frozen up a few times and read somewhere that if you have a black screen..and no buttons working..
then plug in wall charger wait for atleast 15 mins ..then hold power button for 15 secs..
the battery charging icon should appear..then can be turned on.\
its kind of like before you could hold power button and or volume buttons but nothing happening.
I was worried mine had somehow hard bricked but this worked for me recentley..
If doesnt work for you and still nothing then see samsung..

Tried it and it didnt work. Thanks for some advice. Any chance you can get a picture of the back where the imie & serial number are supposed to be? You can obscure your imie & serial number, i just need to see how it looks.

Your welcome... If you've kept the original plastic protector at the back there is also a sticker indicating the IMEI and S/N.
Just send it back to Hong Kong with origonal purchase receipt..
They will replace motherboard and no questions asked.
I bought mine in HK and have sent it back twice under warrenty..
To be honest i think sending it Hard bricked is the best way to get it repaird
as they have no way of knowing what Roms n stuff youve Flashed lol..

I beleive there are 3 repair centres in Hong Kong..
My Freind had mine fixed in Hong kong because at the time i was in Australia.
Samsung repair centre..
Unit 1501, 15/F, Causeway Bay Plaza 1, 489 Hennessy Rd, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Maybe for starters ring this number, this one i got from google....
ask for somebody that can speak good english..
Maybe get them to email you the postage address incase you get it wrong somehow..
Like i posted have droped mine in for Bricked twice..
They will do it in 1 day and ring you the next telling you to pick it up.
Doesnt take long..
At moment ive asked DanielHK how much it cost as he is getting his fixed there now.
when i get a price i will let you know what they charged him, dont pay more!.
The thing about HK is different price for chinese and different price for the Gui Lo's!!!
seems like mine is now bricked - no response from the charger or by usb, i was using it today and it ran out of battery and wont do anything,it was acting funning the last few days, it actually would never turn off, when i powered it off it would just turn back on again, and as i posted in another thread it would charge with the cable for a few days it would only charge by usb, them all of a sudden it starting charging by usb again but not with the original charger it came with - i have had it charging for over an hour and still nothing, i will charge it overnight and try again tomorrow - i will probably send it to my office in hong kong and see if they can work with the repair center to get it fixed - but in the meantime i need another 7.7 ! i guess i will just have to pick one up on kijiji - there is one in my area for $375 which is about half the price i paid for my current one - oh well i will just sell 2 of my nexus 7's and get another 7.7 i dont really use the nexus 7's anyway only to test out different roms
edit - does anyone know if samsung canada can / will repair it if i pay for it or know anyone else that can i would rather pay and get in done here then send to hong kong ? i had a company in mississauga that fixed my bricked original galaxy tab 7 a few years ago but i dont really trust those guys to work on this tablet

Hey guys
I rooted and flashed paranoid android of my tab and it was working fine. Couple of weeks later I left it to charge overnight not realizing the charger is spoilt, hence, didn't charge my tab. Batt drained completely and i couldn't get it started again. Tried leaving it to discharge overnight and plugging in a new charger to charge overnight and still nothing. It was still under warranty so I sent to to samsung and guess what? They told me it's been rooted and hence the warranty is void and they told me they need to replace the motherboard which costs almost $300. :crying: FML. Took it back and now I have a really fancy paperweight.
Was wondering if you guys know anything I can do to get it back to life? Or at least unroot it so I can send it back for repairs?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Maybe not Dead, just its gone completely flat.
When it discharges to a certain amount you cant charge it even with wall charger as needs a certain amount of power
from the battery to activate the charging circuits.
I havent pulled one open yet but u need to pop the screen out from the front..
then remove battery and charge it from some other means then replace it..\
should now turn on again..
Just a guess but if its a paper weight you got nothing to loose right?

Same issue
I'm having a similar issue of the phone shutting down in my pocket. Holding the power button for a few seconds even if locked will restart phone. It's pretty bad to have a phone shut down randomly, so a fix would be welcome.
I had the same problem with the motorola symbol looping even when my battery was almost full. I took it to a Verizon store but while waiting for my turn the phone miraculously successfully booted before I could show it to them, so I just left. Hasn't happened since though.

Hmm.. Could be a bad phone.
When charging are you using the stock USB cable? I don't always but some cables and plugs have different voltages and stuff that may not send the correct voltage to your phone and cause it to do weird things like that.
Someone can correct me if I am incorrect.

I tried holding down my power button. Apparently, it is being held down in my pocket. Btw, the reason for
This is probably to shut down the phone if it locks up.
