I think the google desktop dock is way to expensive, as i only need it as a charger and have no need for the A2DP function.
But all the cheap dock's on ebay uses the USB connection and not the dock pins, has anybody found a cheap dock that has dock pins connection?
It's much more convenient to be able to just drop the phone in a dock instead of needing to connect the phone to a dock, and be able to use the dock mode is a plus when you use it as an alarm clock.
I was wondering the same thing, is it that hard to reproduce that? I havnt seen anything besides the usb ones either and i have heard it can screw up the usb connection of n1s so didnt want to buy one of those
Exactly the same thoughts here
does anyone have specs of which pins do what? (i.e. do you apply +5 v to pin 1, ground to pin2, etc)
i've got some ideas on a homebrew dock.

Search for the thread: "Dock Pinout"
It seams that it alot harder, that there is a binary communication in one of the pins, not just a current that tells it to go into dock mode...
Doh! delete my post haha.
Just bought an original Nexus One Desktop Dock brand new from Ebay for $15.00 . The seller has 49 more available. It arrived today and it's all original with sealed packaging. Just throwing it out there if anyone is interested.

Too bad it isn't shipped for free outside the US. Shipping costs are more than half of the costs of the dock itself :silly:

brought last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/330770220824?item=330770220824
Dock US $15.00
Shipping US $8.46 (Germany)
Thats €18,65 (a new one costs 60€ at launch day ..)
I bought the dock when I first got the nexus one. If you guys get one for cheap and want to continue using the Nexus One, go for it. I mean the phone does slide down easly if the bump against the dock. But the lack of wear on the usb connector is well worth it.
Do you mind giving any feedback on this unit? I want to buy a separate charger cause I have a spare battery and OEM dock the previous owner bought new with the phone but I want to be able to charge the spare battery without swapping back and forth from the phone. Its a real hassle. I don't want to buy a charger that ends up cooking the battery.

Thanks for the link, seems fine but a little too expensive :S
I just recently got a Nexus 4, and my girlfriend got a Galaxy S3 for christmas. I know the S3 doesn't have native wireless charging (requires some sort of adapter to the pinout under the back cover, I think?), but I was wondering if there's either: A) a way I can add wireless charging to the S3 that would be compatible with the recently released charging orb through the play store, or B) an option that would somehow work for both, if the S3 can't be made compatible with the orb.
I made an effort to search through other questions to make sure this hadn't been asked before, so forgive me if it has and I missed it!
Rumors have it that Samsung is developing a kit, if its Qi compatible then all Qi chargers will work with it.
The real place to ask the question is in the S3 forums. If they make it Qi youre good, if not then its on them.
I got the adapter from fast tech for the S3 (cheapest I could find it at $15 including shipping) for my Boyfriend's S3. I have a Nexus 4. Once the adapter and my Qi chargers arrive I will report back and let you know. I did not order the orb, but I did get the cheap $35 one from fast tech, and the double Duracell one from amazon.
I think I should get at least the adapter and the double duracell one next week. We also have a variety of cases for the s3 to test with.
I'm hoping that orb will work for galaxy s3. Not only I'm getting useless nexus 4i also ordered the orb. My wife might kill me. Lol. We got Verizon and at least a year and a half on contract left.

I'm using the Energizer dual charger (Qi certified) to charge both my N4 and my wife's GS3. I bought an after market Qi receiver for the GS3 from eBay. It fits under the stock back cover. Works great.
I like the energizer unit since I can do both phones at the same time.

I, too, have an S3 and a N4, which are sharing one wireless charger (Power Qi). I had to buy a Qi receiver and apply it on top of the battery for S3. It makes the back of S3 hump a little bit, but the battery cover still snaps in. Of course, S3 feels heavier too.
That said, things work fine. Charging faster than computer usb 2.0 and slower than wall charger, but I can grab it an run whenever I want.
Review is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181042&page=6
In Vietnam it's about 37 USD per unit and the receiver is about 10 USD.
Hi guys.
I have an i9506 and i look for a wireless charger.
I can't find many rss for it to decide for best.
What is your experience?
What do you suggest?
My experience has been the Samsung wireless charger is best. I own it and two of the El cheapos from eBay and the difference is huge. For example the cheap ones you have to be move the phone around on the pad to find the sweet spot. With the Samsung charger, close is good enough and you get a green LED to let you know it's working.
I use 3 nokia dt-900. I also had an ebay one which burned... my advice, go for known brands like samaung, nokia, panasonic, energizer...
I have a Samsung charger and a PowerBot disk. Both work fine.
Thnx for your response guys!
So best is to use samsung charger (station) and what patch in the cover?
Is there any big copper mesh to induct more power from the pad?
Also are those chargers fast like the wall charger?

I don't know the current links, but you can check the Samsung site for the Samsung wireless charger for the s4. The PowerBot is available on amazon.
Hi guys.
I got a Nexus 5 a few months back and used it with my friends prototype of a wireless charging holster first of it's kind he's been working on personally for over a year. Just wanted to help him out and spread the word a bit. Here's the kickstarter link:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1108765845/fusion-one-wearable-wireless-charging-on-the-go
The device is a holster with a 6000 mAh powerbank at $49, wireless charging + USB output 2 phones may be charging at once.
If this is not allowed then please remove I'm not sure if it is or not but wanted to help.

Can't find more of an explanation. Is this charging done wirelessly or is there a port inside the pouch that must be inserted in the phone. If there is a connector one has to be aware of the orientation of their phone when sliding it into the pouch. Its a useful idea. Would recommend a professionally shot video to better market the idea. Would've opted in if it were smaller.
Looks cool.
...Anyone got experience with any equipment they would recommend?
Thanks
I bought the official Amazon one along with my Gen 11 Fire HD+ on Black Friday and it works perfectly. I would definitely recommend it. It charges from any position that you set the Tablet in, whether it's horizontal, vertical, camera up, camera down, and even charges with the offical Keyboard case I bought with it too. It was about $40 I think?
Really no reason to go with any other wireless stand to be honest.
I purchased the NANAMI Qi Certified Wireless Charging Stand for $15 on Amazon. This works GREAT with the Fire Tablet. I like that when I put it on the stand it looks just like an Echo Show. With that said, I'm guessing almost any wireless charger would work well.

I'm thinking of getting the nanami. It just looks small to support the fire 10 tablet. Is it hard to line up to charge? I looked on the site on amazon and out of the three answers 2 said no. Can you, please, post the link to the one you're recommending?
And, thank you.
