Hi all, i've bought this wireless charger to charge my Samsung Galaxy S3 (with the included coil, it works), AND my brand new LG Nexus 4, and for this smartphone, it doesn't work.
Here the link:
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160923480453
It claims to be QI compatible, but mine doesn't work with my Nexus 4... Anyone else tried this charger ?
wow, that thing adds wireless charging to a phone that doesn't have wireless charging. that's pretty cool. sorry it didn't work with the N4 tho

yes, it works because Samsung Galaxy S3 already have a special pinout just under the backside cover.
This pinout is intendented to be used with the official charging kit wich will become available in few weeks from Samsung.
But others manufacturers have not wait much longer to create their own kit for Galaxy S3
If delivery works fine, i will receive an other wireless QI charger tomorrow... A philips one... I will post here if it works.
buy the lg pad at any verizon store. its 1000ma and only 50 bucks.

Thanks for the post. I had actually been looking at this one on eBay. It's only $50usd shipped in the US ebay. I'm sorry you bought something and ended up waisting your money, but I appreciate you sharing your experience with others so we don't make the same mistake.

YES, i'm perfectly sure
The Philips charger come with an additional "bumper case" that add the wireless charging capacity to Iphone 4 and 4S.
But i don't use that "bumper case", only the charger, and it works

The Oregon Scientific QW201 "Time & Wireless Charging Station" works to charge the phone.
http://www2.oregonscientific.com/ca...-prod-Time-and-Wireless-Charging-Station.html
It also has a few other neat features like remote thermometer. However I'm returning mine for a few reasons.
1. the atomic clock set didn't work
2. viewing angle extremely limited
3. bright blue charging indicator
I'd probably have kept it if not for #1.

Dt900 is rated at a measly 300 mah.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
anybody wants to try these? its rated for 1800 mAh batteries.... seeing that some chargers that are rated for 1000 mAh all worked, and that the nokia DT-900's that are rated for 300 mAh did not work, these could potentially work (?). Nexus 4 battery is rated at 2100 mAh ... . anybody here goes to vegas on weekends? :silly: :

price is cheap too at $24 shipped from China. no I don't work with them...just another curious nexus 4 owner

Don't think it works, otherwise all of us would have swooped them up by now lol. For one, I don't think it reads anywhere that it's qi standard.

Ive been following the other threads on qi chargers for quite some time and most of the ones that are not working either has :
1) contact type charging (i.e sleeve with metal contactor to the charging pad)
2) wireless charging/qi standard but with lower rating for battery capacity (i.e nokia for example, rated at 300 mAh)
from the looks of it, this doesnt look like its a contact type..so there might be a slight chance that this might work..here's one sold in amazon :
http://www.amazon.com/Contact-Charger-Iphone-Include-Adapter/dp/B008YDESXA
http://www.amazon.com/Intec-G7769-Charging-Mat-Playstation-3/dp/B0036VSCTG
Should I test if this is a qi charger? Or is it a definitive no?
From the reviews
" not what I thought it was
December 12, 2012 By Adam B.
This looks like an inductive charger, but it isn't. It is really a contact charger with really wide contact points.
My particular unit had only one of the two controller attachments functional out of the box, so I ended up returning it for a refund as defective. I decided, after having tired it out, to get a different charging dock for a little bit more money, instead, as even if fully functional, it felt cheaply constructed"

My boss bought me a GS4 a couple of days ago and gave me an iBolt car dock that was originally purchased with a couple GS3's about a year back. The GS4 fits into the car dock rather nicely, but the USB connector doesn't charge it. The car dock will still charge a GS3 and my old HTC One X, as well as pretty much any accessory I could find to try, but not the GS4. I also tested this with the iBolt car dock my boss has, with the same results.
Has anyone else noticed this or know if there is something I can do about it?
As mentioned in the accessories forum the s3 dock doesn't work unless you purchased it after early May.
The ibolt pro dock does work and is, imho, totally worth the price.

Try contacting iBolt customer service. Don't know what they'll do for you, but they are usually responsive. Samsung made some change to the docking mode/pins and it looks like they updated the iBolt cable to account for that.
I recently purchased a Google Nexus 5 and I'm looking to buy a wireless charger. I've narrowed down the options to the official Google wireless charger (2013) and the Tylt vÜ. Keep in mind that I have the capacities to buy either one but not both. Any help would appreciated. So according to your opinion which one should I buy ? Thank you for your time !!!
This should of been posted in the "Accessories" section. I would go with the Tylt because it is great quality (not saying the Nexus brand isn't) and it also has the functionality of tilting upwards.
The downside is that the Tylt charger cost more than the Nexus branded charger but if you don't care for the tilt functionality then get the Nexus brand. At least you'll have a few more bucks in your pocket to get some beers .

If you are leaning towards the Tylt, read the accessories forum threads regarding overheating issues. As of right now, the only real guaranteed "fix" is to open it up and disconnect the top coil to keep it from overheating your N5. I had it, and really liked it until it happened to me. I sent it back for a refund due to Tylt kind of turning a blind eye to the issue at the time. They still haven't completely rectified the issue either.
I actually use a Nokia DT-900 and the LG N4 Charging Orb. Both work flawlessly.
I bought the LG WCP-300 charger and it works very well.
If you travel about, maybe go camping often etc. Maybe you should consider a battery pack wireless charger like the Lugulake

Use caution: I bought a zen wireless charger. The phone has a silicon case and when charging it becomes extremely hot.
I'm in real need of a car charger for my S5. Does anyone know where I should buy one? Or what brand to look for? Thanks!
I almost always check on Amazon first. And boom, solution. Go for the one with the fewest negative reviews. I choose plemo for its reasonable price and so far has no complaints.

I am using maxboost car charger which I bought from amazon. This is by far one of the best chargers I ve had. Very compact and powerful.
A handful negative reviews said 2.4A port does not work with S5, but mine seems to be an updated version with so called smart port, both charges S5 fine. Currently, black color is out, and white one still available.
It can be found from here: http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Port-Maxboost-4-4A-Charger/dp/B00ISGCAJM/
I also recommend the brand plemo. I bought it on Amazon and have been using it for about four months now. Really chuffed about it. Charges my S5 really fast (definitely faster than the stock charger). Also charges my other devices including the Canon camera and the GPS.
ive got a belkin usb port and it works fine on uk gs5
