Is it possible to flash a rom or "firmwere" .zip through CWM or do I need to load a tar.md5 through Odin every time?

Doesn't matter in This case
These task were better done by mobile odin and no need the separate recovery and kernel. Run mobile odin, touched on the kernel field and selected the full rom file here. Then touched on the recovery field and selected the rom file here. Mobile odin will extract the kernel and recovery data on it. Touched flesh firmware. Once completed, the stock kernel and recovery were installed. This operations all done by phone, no need to use pc.

No one is going to do that because Odin always has the possibility of perma bricking your device.

you shouldn't have to use odin to flash a rom on your phone, odin should be for recovering your devices back to stock or flashing a custom recovery. does it have a recovery on it right now?

Hello.
I got a ROM in a .zip format.
I can't flash the rom through CWM so I tried to extract the ZIP, flash the boot.img and push the rest of the files, it didn't worked.
How can I convert the .zip file into a .img file so I can flash the rom through the toolkit?

Mmm are you sure about that? I don't know of any custom roms in .tar format that you can flash with Odin. Custom roms come in .zip format only stock roms/kernels come in .tar please correct me if i'm wrong.
