GT2 P5113 Won't boot - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 (P5113) that won't boot at all. I can get it into Download mode, but not recovery. I have tried using ODIN to flash a new recovery and a complete ROM and it usually errors out with and error of NAND write error, (Successful 0, Failed 1). I have tried multiple ROMs and a couple of recoveries to no avail. I have installed KIES and made sure it wasn't running in the back ground. I even tried to flash a PIT and it gets to a point that says there is no PIT partition. Any thoughts? All help would be appreciated. Thanks.

failed at nand write .
This can be for a number of reasons , the least serious being:
1. Are you sure your phone is not locked to a network ?
2. Did you use an original USB cable ?
3. Did you connect directly to USB port of computer and not a
usb hub ?
4. Try another USB port on your computer ?

1. This a wifi only version so no carrier.
2. It is the original cable
3. Connecting directly to the computer, but I am using the front ports on a tower. I will give the rear ports atry.
4. Used both front ports, but will give the rear ports a try.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Flash a stock firmware on your tab, your current binary says custom.. If it was a samsung rom it would have said samsung official..
Use ODIN to flash the firmware..

What do you mean? Bricked EFS? I have tried several times to do an Odin flash to stock. It says that it was successful and then turns off, only to come back on to the "firmware update encountered an error" I then have to flash a kernel to get it to even go into download mode. I am curious about something called omap flasher. I wonder if I can use that to get the thing working

Dead Samsung note 10.1 2012 GT-N8000

Gentlemen,
Please I updated my note 10.1 2012 GT-N8000 to kitkat 4.4.2 without rooting or usb debugging enable, then during charging it, i forget it around four hours it restarted, and all the time in download mode, i used odin, failed to open Com port, i tried to enter to recovery, failed. i tried to enter to bootloader, i thing it is locked, also when i tried to use odin, it tells that no PIT is found, any suggestion? (changed usb cable, uninstall kies and install usb samsung drivers, used different versions of odin with CSC,Bootloader, PIT ,PDA,modem, files etc... ) all are failing, seems that it is just locking itself... the only place i can enter, is when i enter press power button, and - volume (Volume downn), it would take me to ODIN MODE , Product name: GT-N8000, Currnet Binary: Custom, System Status: Official, RP SWREV: A2 and it is all the time Downloading Do not turn off target, even i tried to uninstall the battery for sometime, and i put it again... and if just insert it to the usb it would start directly to Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode (which i can't enter to it, failed to enter by power + volume up) in kies & try again, also the initialization of kies is not supported, if used...
What are you trying to flash with Odin? Try official
And if the device actually pops up in Odin and the COM port is through then the cable and the hardware is all fine.

Download a N8000 firmware which comes packed in zip
extract it and then select it with AP in odin,
flash and wait until you're done
and if it is struggling with the port try another one
Download the official firmware for your model number regardless of the region (that is if you're ok with it otherwise use your own region's)
Then use the appropriate Odin version to flash the firmware to your device while in download mode. Put the Firmware file into PDA/AP.
Make sure Reartition is not ticked otherwise your device will be bricked. (Lol it rhymes)
Make sure the cable connection is stable and don't disconnect the connection until the process of flashing is done.
Not advertising but you can find your firmware at Sammobile. It tells you which Odin version to use too. I'm not sure if Odin version matters but let's play safe.
Hope this helps.

Galaxy s6 stuck at boot? Unable to fix

Hi xda members, im new in here and i was hoping for a bit of help
My phone is galaxy s6 SM-920T
I was reading on the net when the phone powered off and started restarting and restating again and stuck at book logo "powered by samsung".
I am not able to go into recovery mode but i can open the os download mode.
Tried many times with odin and no luck
I think due to the phone being full encrypted by me nothing can be done, is there any posibility? Thanks

I've had cases where you had to put the phone into download mode THEN open Odin for it to be seen. Maybe try that.
With it in download mode and plugged up open devices and printers and scroll to bottom and see if it shows up. Would be called gadget_serial. Some computers take a while to load the drivers for it as well. You may want to click little popup menu on bottom right of desktop by the time and date and see if it shows it is loading drivers for it. It will not show up until the gadget serial drivers are installed.
Thanks for the help. Nothing worked. It doesnt not recognizes the S6 only my Galaxy Tab 4. Could it be that the usb door wasnt repaired proprely ? Windows doesnt even detect the phone no gadget_serial. Nothing.
Make sure that You're using USB 2.0 not 3.0. My Note 4 worked through usb3.0 without any problem. And S6 doesn't. And if Odin reflash won't fix it. Get pit file and flash it with it.

First thing to try would be flashing stock firmware with Odin.

Sounds like DRK may be damaged.
Take the stock OKC firmware and open the archive with 7-zip or winrar and extract the system.img and boot.img.
Download and unzip this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bsreazoonsw4gwv/tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07_by_mkh.mourad.zip?dl=0
Copy/paste the system.img and boot.img into the software directory and run the batch file. It will spit out a system.tar.md5 and boot.tar.md5
Flash the system.tar.md5 with Odin as AP then flash the boot.tar.md5 as AP.

thank you gonna have to try tomorrow due to bad USB cables, will let you know thank you so much for your help
If all else fails, just boot your phone into download phone and install Samsung Kies and restore it using that.
You will need the model & serial number of your phone. It will restore the latest stock firmware on your phone for you..

You cant, I suggest using a friend or family member's serial number that has the same model phone.. the serial number is a way of identifying the correct carrier specific rom.

Bricked S7 Edge

Hi All, first post here and I'm 90% sure this is the wrong thread but I can't post in the ROMs, KERNAL, RECOVERIES thread....
Let me get to the point, I have a Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935W8) that won't show anything on the screen at all. No backlight or anything. I've tried using Odin to reflash the original ROM but keep failing on the re-partition. (Holding vol down, power and home will enter download mode and a solid blue light shows. The PC does recognize the phone but ADB doesn't since USB debugging wasn't enabled.)
Any ideas or is the NAND completely shot?
Thanks.
Tried repair via Smart Switch?
It tries to connect then says unsupported device. Emergency reset asks for a key...

https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge
ADB being enabled has nothing to do with Download mode, as Download mode is independent to the firmware
Make sure you're using ODIN 3.12.3 or newer, and that the COM port on ODIN is showing as connected
It's not 100% that the phone is entering DL mode though if you have no display

Key is your device serial number iirc
Back of phone
I can get it to connect to ODIN.
COM port shows along with "Added!" but it always fails at the repartition step. (I'm adding all 4 of the files at once I believe that is correct?)

Yep that's correct, are you trying to flash the same CSC or different?
Different CSC you might need to check the "Re-partition" option in ODIN settings as they can be different sizes
But no display in Download mode = Not a firmware problem, almost certainly a hardware problem
Alright, looks like I'm buying a parts phone and doing some surgery tonight. Thanks for the help!

I had the same issues flashing my 8+ . . . pit issues.
I found that a different USB cable worked, and also:
Go to download mode, start odin, load TWRP or other file, press start and then press pwn dwn, bixby and power, Odin will fail, but........
because you you went back into download mode, Odin will succeed next time you flash.
For some reason if I just acknowledged that Odin was going to fail on the first attempt, I kept the phone connected and did the routine, and on the second flash attempt, no more Pit file errors for me.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ Hard Bricked. Only Upload Mode!! How to Enter Download Mode???

Ok so I went to flash twrp recovery onto my phone and something went wrong while using oden... My usb debugging is turned on and OEM Unlocked. Now my phone screen stays completely black. Its caught in a bootloop and No buttons work to bring it back into download mode, Only Upload mode works.. But Odin will not flash anything to my phone in Upload mode. It changes my samsung usb drivers to msm upload or modem drivers. I have been at this for weeks trying to get my s8+ to attach to my computer again using ADB, ODIN, SD CARD, AND EVEN THAT JIG Thing to force it into download mode but TO NO AVAIL.. I Have to some how get back into download mode but no button combinations will work.. It seems to bootloop on me before it reaches those commands. The bootloader is obviously gone to a certain degree since upload mode still works.. Is there any way to use Odin in upload mode? Or is there any other way I can reflash stock rom to fix this issue? I have no recovery, no safe mode, no download mode?? My phone is basically a paper weight right now.. When I know All my stuff is still on there. This S8+ Phone has put up a good fight with me on my pc But Im not one to loose. I love a good challange.. Any suggestions. I thought ADB Was my best bet but with no connect I cant do any thing. I cant' get Adb to find my device. Oh even tryed older versions of odin with low level quallcom drivers and that didn't work either. Odin will read a com port to my device but i'm in the wrong mode (Upload Mode) and Odin cant establish a connection. When in Upload Mode its the hellish one as xda deveopers have said before..
S8+ phone is Model Number SM-G950U
Witch I believe has now been upgraded to SM-G955U OR F.. But I have the original stock rom still for SM-G950U if only I can get into some kind of Download Mode.
Ive even sat watching odin as I push every single button combination watching the ports appear and dissapear as it reboots trying to find some kind of way to download to the phone... But no luck..

Mate there are 7 different revisions of the 950 u bootloader. Across all the software updates. No offense intended. But if you can't even give this little bit of info I can assure you. Your not gonna be able to dissemble this device. Ground out the test points to enter edl. And flash needed repair files. Which is very tedious. If there is any issues. I would mark this device as lost and get another. I dont feel that you have the necessary skills needed to complete this process...
