Just looking for kernel/performance recomendations and any other tweaks such as special apps packages that folks are running and happy with.
New to the ROM flashing game but falling in love with AOSP.Just want to maximize my experience.Heading to camp on the beach for a few days but I will check in when I return.

I use BMS kernel. Insane battery life and is much snappier. I under volt though to conserve battery but this kernel rocks. Many other people like using kt747 as well.

Yes, this build works for Liquidsmooth v2.9

Any build newer than 7-30 is strictly for Android 4.3 only.

That, my friend, I do not know. Lol.
But I've noticed when powered off and charging, the battery icon graphic on the screen is all jacked up with the included kernel in Liquidsmooth. This BMS kernel has resolved that issue. Maybe its related to that somehow? I have no idea. Lol.

It's a little weird to explain until you actively test it. In your rom, there should be a Settings/Advanced Options/Phone (or Advanced Settings). Go there and you can adjust the display temperature to be warmer (more reddish) or cooler (more bluish). Make sure to turn the display off each time you change the display temperature for it to take effect.

I agree with BMS kernel. It's definitely the best AOSP kernel I have used, and LS is the best ROM I've used and I have tried almost everything so this should definitely optimize your experience

Actually had it at normal voltages. Now that I think about it, I had it at 1566. Now that I'm back at stock, stock max is 1512. That's probably what it was.

You might be confusing the terminology. Stock max cpu speed is 1512 mhz but the voltage would be about 1200mv at that clock. 1566 would be in reference to the clock speed.

It has the charge while off fix, the hot reboot fix is in there but havent been on it long enough to confirm. And whatever framework changes AOKP made or changes the CM team made.
You really have to keep an eye on the CM github and AOKP github to get specific changes.

I am one of the biggest complainers about battery life you will ever hear of.
I'm at %64 since 6:20am with 3hrs 2 mins screen time and 41 minutes of phone calls. I'd say that's pretty damn good IMO.
Best battery I've experienced on AOKP to date and it's only been 5.5 hrs. After a few days of settling in it should be even better.

Normal aosp, cm9, aokp. I have a case with a battery in it so I'm doubled up. But I've gone 10hrs on a charge, or I've burned it up in 5. All depends on usage. (Those are without using the case battery)

I like the notification lights but is there a way to make them blink every 10 seconds or so instead of being on solid until checked? They are very bright and I'd prefer a slow blink. I didn't see anything in the settings.

As of now, only with the BLN control app from the market. I think you need the paid version for blinking. Also, blinking consumes more battery according to the developer of the app.

I've noticed in the downloads section that you have nightlies and also kernels from 9-26. Are the ones from 9-26 stable releases? Just wondering if I should flash those are the nightlies. I run SlimBean 2.6 and he doesnt update with nightlies so I was just worried about the nightlies being counterproductive. Thanks
No love for sprint
If your having battery issues you need to use system tuner to under volt this kernel. It comes preset at 1150 at 384 and peaks at 1250 on the 1620. So if you leave it as installed battery life will always be horrible. Once you set your voltages it will correct the problem. As you can see from the graph once I set them it starts to flat line.

Lightning Zap! Kernel feedback

Post here for your feedback on what you would like to see in the future for the Lightning Zap! kernel.
I want to know what are the most widely used governors, io-schedulers and over/under clock voltages.
I'll post some of my ideas here in a bit to get things rolling
Does it need any more? Quite the nice kernel, sir. Thank you again for all your help with getting mine up and running. You've been a valuable resource for me.
I'd love to see the badass governor added. Otherwise, it's handled everything I have thrown at it with ease.

Love the kernel sio/smartass combo is what I'm rocking...great battery life and super smooth keep up the great work. It makes it sooo hard to update to a new phone w the battery life I'm getting on my SR w this kernel and w Nibbles ROM. Any chance of you releasing a ROM of your own for the SR. I thought I read somewhere if you found the time you would cook something up for us...definitely would love that. Either way thanks for your hard work and time you put in for SR community we have greatly benefited from you

Best kernel for saving battery on 7.0?

I am on cm 10.1 and the battery isn't much different from stock. Also, the tab gets hotter than it did on stock. Any kernel that keeps the device cool and saves battery? I am willing to change ROMs if its CM's fault, but the ROM you suggest should be waaay better to convince me to change ROMs.

2nd core inactive

I just noticed that my second core is inactive on my g2x phone. Does any one know is this normal or my phone is malfunctioned? I downloaded this app name CPU Identifier and it shows my second core is inactive. I also did run a benchmark test on Quadrant and the score is around 1914 where as the normal score for g2x should be around 2500. Any help how to fix this would be appreciated.
App link? Would like to try it. Searched market didn't know which one

Probably has malfunctioned due to overheated. the first core is showing 1998BMPS and the second is showing 0. I haven't done anything major to the phone since I brought it two years ago except rooted it. May be I will try different kernals. Hope that it will makes it work again.
What ROM are you using, op?

Is the original one that came with the manufacture. I haven't changed anything since. Do you think that's the problem? How can I change rom on my phone?

I hope that is not a hardware problem. I will try to install cyanogenMod to see if it can fix that.
Im currently running MIUI (SINGH UI) for the g2x and it also shows that my second core is down. Doesn't bother me though....I have not seen any drop in performance since I have originally rooted the phone and as far as overall speed is concerned I don't think my phone has ever been faster.

Try Quadrant benchmark you will see how much has affected. The normal score should be around 2500 but now is around 1989. Also, now I can't play games that has 3d graphic.
That sucks man. Im not much of a gamer so it doesnt affect me much

I guess the rom has something to do with it. I'm having problems with ICS and jb with quadrant. But with cm7 and a good kernel (faux123), my score reached almost 3000!

I checked and my 2nd core is also inactive, now i understand why my g2x has been slower. Does anyone know how to fix this, without changing my ROM? I'm running Hellfire sandwich 1.9, faux 123-050 kernel
someone please help

Hey thanks for pointing out the second core was inactive as well as the other minor bug of the date an time resetting. Adressing these issues, do you think another release will be made with fixes. I love this rom personally i think its more interactive with its user interface an adjustable themes.
My performance was lowered.. wait with the 2nd core inactive is deep sleep even possible? I noticed a minor battery drain with the wifi... thinking its just me..

Where can you get an update on the ROM? From the manufacturer?

I guess so. Only GB are stable with this phone. I always tried going 4.0+, no luck. I'm just ended up back with GB.
