Hello,
Im trying to develop my own ROM. I created a github account and forked some repos.
https://github.com/LightningAndroid
Added some stuff and made changes.
But i need "android_frameworks_base" ofcourse, can i just fork it from CM and what changes do i have to make?
If somebody will help me
Pipo may help you. He got good training from droyd before developing carbon.

Hi. Sorry but my Framework Base was as it as from CarbonDev repository... nothing changed. "Only" thing that @$droyd$ teach me was a correction to compile Carbon for ville without Linaro toolchain.
Now I am in trouble to retrieve carbon ville repos, and eventually port to 4.3.
I'm a beginner and a lot to learn about it...

Judging by your Github Yes.. You will have to fork CM... Be carefull as a lot of things you add in settings have to have a frameworks counter part or 2 of 2 ... Youll know when you compile .. It will error.

If you don't mind I'll add the link to the first post as well
of cource i don't mind that's why i registered here. to help and get help, to share and get stuff, to ask and answer questions
Someone should give gsam101 this info...so that he could do kernel compiling...
I got it via twitter .. I'm downloading it boys, except something coming... ^^.
And no, i don't need a VM, I use Linux every day.
Gsam are what you knew "play" with the source code? And if so what are you know if you could put a support for the ext4 partition? or overclock? I saw the performance of your core Jpb which was not bad, so I think you're going to make a beautiful ring =)
As far as I can see, there's the .config file missing. Looks somewhat like a text adventure to me: The one who guesses Samsung's configuration the best, is the one who wins.
I already wrote Samsung about the missing file. I tried with the old .config from Eclair, guessed the new options, and so far had no success.

It's as for the 2.1 kernel source, you just have to copy the source file from arch/arm/config
Thanks for the tip. Looks like there's a matching file in the configs/ directory. Compiling again and hoping for a better result ...
It seems that i finally got a working kernel build by myself. I do some tweaks, and i upload it here.

You just need to know how to use GIT. Knowing C and C++ would be of great use ofcourse.

You need Java and Php for app development. That would be enough. For kernel stuff, rkoby and dhirend_6d have answered.

Sources can be found here: https://github.com/Team-OneSV/ Note: They may or may not be up to date. As of this post they aren't booting out of the box yet. I will add fixes later tonight (12/10/2013)
Anyone interested that knows what they're doing please let me know. I can't do this alone. I'll add more details when it's ready.

Why don't you try to help those guys who already started developing cm 10 for our device. It's just one thread under yours.

Because my version (k2cl) isn't booting on its own yet. Only version that boots is k2ul and possibly k2u. I'm looking to make a single common tree with all the files and dependencies all variants share then make simple and small device trees with all the device specific files and dependencies. Thus, easily supporting all variants (k2cl, k2ul, k2u, k2plc). It will be a lot easier this route to keep all SV variants up to date development wise.

Have you tried to try to work with this tree?
I tried to customize the stock project tree to this... I also tried to alter the tree from the M4.
Hmm ... I still do not understand the errors that occur during assembly.
Hi, I'd like to help port a cm10.1 to k2_ul (cause it's the only device I can test on xD). Though, I'd like to know the state of the art

I haven't had a successful build after 4 tries abd edits to cm11 and maybe 8 with cm10.1
I'm going to make clean then repo sync both gits.
maybe that will get me at least a 100% finished build??? lots of OMX errors and random /bla/bla/././lib_something.o files not being generated.

I have added you in Github Team TeamXE, Zues Kernel is up there so if you want to work on it you can!
And again, I can't make up much from the source...
It might be because it's an Xperia kernel(I don't know much about them) but I can't make much out if it
