Source Code of Galaxy 3 - Galaxy 3 Android Development

This morning I received a mail message from Samsung containing the following :
"We're pleased to provide the source code from the site below :
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/reception_main.do?method=reception_modal "
ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK:

I think the time has come to develop some awesome roms for this little device ;-)

i've uploaded the code to multiupload.

This is great news, perhaps all may not be lost after all and we may look forward to some exciting mods.

Is this the official update? If yes, can anyone test it and report it?

It's only source code upload, not official Samsung Froyo update (JPF isn't official)

So now someone with expirience in kernels download sztupy's kernel building vm and get started...

If you don't mind I'll add the link to the first post as well

of cource i don't mind that's why i registered here. to help and get help, to share and get stuff, to ask and answer questions

Someone should give gsam101 this info...so that he could do kernel compiling...

I got it via twitter .. I'm downloading it boys, except something coming... ^^.
And no, i don't need a VM, I use Linux every day.

Gsam are what you knew "play" with the source code? And if so what are you know if you could put a support for the ext4 partition? or overclock? I saw the performance of your core Jpb which was not bad, so I think you're going to make a beautiful ring =)

As far as I can see, there's the .config file missing. Looks somewhat like a text adventure to me: The one who guesses Samsung's configuration the best, is the one who wins.
I already wrote Samsung about the missing file. I tried with the old .config from Eclair, guessed the new options, and so far had no success.

It's as for the 2.1 kernel source, you just have to copy the source file from arch/arm/config

Thanks for the tip. Looks like there's a matching file in the configs/ directory. Compiling again and hoping for a better result ...

It seems that i finally got a working kernel build by myself. I do some tweaks, and i upload it here.

tun.ko for Kernel 2.6.29 [email protected] #2

I just found out tun.ko needs to be compiled for the specific kernel version. Anyone can help me with the binary or point out where to find the source for the tun and kernel 2.6.29 [email protected] #2? Thank you.

any reason for using this kernel? tun.ko is included in decad3nce's kernels.
kernel source can be obtained from HTC if you don't want to take the easy way and use decad3nce's kernel.
p.s. We have a Q & A Forum for this.

This is Zenulator's ZenKernel. You might get a response by posting in his thread here, but fyi he's not actively developing anymore.
Thanks both of you for the great info. I think I will try the easy way first and use decad3nce's kernel.
I tried decad3nce's kernel and the battery mod in the same thread and the tun driver worked fine. However, I felt I liked the instant screen wake up of the ZenKernel. And the battery lives of both kernels seem to be almost the same. So I went ahead and grabbed the source and compiled the tun.ko. Tested working fine and attached in case anyone needs it. Thanks for the help.

right off the bat then thats an error. I am a huge believer that the random rebbots are due to the Tegra Cores not sleeping properly, I swear sometimes I think our phones only has one core active. I forgot what program I used but it showed CORE 0 and CORE 1. Core 0 had all the info about clock speed etc and CORE 1 was blank.. hmmm..
We need powertop from CM to see whats going on here anyways lets put the thread back on topic.

[DEV]Camera drivers for I9003

I have decided to open a new thread for camera drivers.
According to Samsung...
Drivers are located in our OSRC2(http://opensource.samsung.com/community.do) site as follows.
The location of Camera Driver is "Kernel/drivers/media/video/ "
There are several files but you can find ce147.* for front camera, and s5ka3dfx.* for rear camera.
You might be able to find TI Camera HAL files in "hardware/ti/omap3/camera-omap3/".

about bloody time we get those damn camera drivers for our phones
Are these for gb or ics

if i am right devs need drivers source so they can compile one compatible with ics miui etc not gb drivers it self.
The camera sources are there since a long time. ;-)
Waleedq is using them since the beginning.

Dunno what you're talking about. This is no news.
Attached to the post there are drivers
Those are the sources for Camera on Gingerbread. On ICS, overlay is deprecated due to which the existing sources don't work. I tried an overlay backport but it failed.

Gm007 got camera to work in his project of MIUI porting.
And you said this is nothing new. So how did he do it?
Did you make any mistake that this is nothing new? No offence meant, everyone makes mistakes. [Edit - I am not claiming that you made a mistake and accept it o any such bull****.]
"Edit - Or he got it to work now and previously wasn't able to do it and as you said there is nothing new?"

[R&D][WIP]Port Galaxy S3 to Android kitchen

UPDATE
THE KITCHEN OFFICIALLY SUPPORTS OUR MODEL, THE SCH-I535. Here is the the thread.
THIS IS NOW RETIRED.THANKYOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED THIS
What is this project?
This project is port over the GS3 onto the Android kitchen so it can be used with the rom creation and tweaking feautures of the Android kitchen.
What's the Android kitchen?
The Android kitchen is a free tool that allows the creation of rom's and tweaking other roms without codeing.
Want to test?
As of right now i have all the testers needed.
UPDATE: 8/30/12
- The error 6 while flashing is gone now i think, but has been replaced with error 7 now.
-Found a problem with the update-script
-Made a rom with the kitchen used Beans rom. Looking for testers please pm me if you'd like to help.
-After going through some scripts a noticed that their might have to be multiple scripts for other GS3. This might much more simple then i thought. Will test later on.
GOALS FOR THIS PROJECT:
Update busybox
Support for all Galaxy S3 devices
Full support for all Android kitchen's features
Fully stable/bugless
Progress so far:
folder for GS3 variants
edify_defs file made
check_ script made for the verzion gs3
NEEDS TO BE DONE:
edify_defs for other models
Other things that are not known yet
edify_defs for vzw GS3
I myself am currently the only one working on this, if anyone would like to contribuit to this feel free to pm me email me or gtalk me (at the end of post)At this time we are only working on the verizon version of the GS3 ,untill we have a compelte understanding of what has to be done and finshe porting over the Verzion model thats how it stands.Neither of us have a a different model then the d2vzw.If we ever need testers this is will we will ask. This might be easy it might be not. As of now we have a good start, we will contuine working day to day on this. All updates will be above.I"ll be using beans stock rom for testing i take no credit for the rom only this port.
A Big thanks to dsixda for making the kitchen!
Email: covenant123dx @gmail.com
Thanks to Josolanes for testing !

Droid3r is sadly a troll, or at least he's portrayed himself to be as of late. For Bean's I've been working on a theme cusromizer, and once that's solidified I was going to make it work with the major ROMs. If someone could donate web space, I have no problem making a nice web-based system for all the ROMs.

You obviously have problems with reading. I asked for help in finding and porting gpu plugins. Those don't require source of core exe. But if you want pscxr source, it's really easy to find: PCSXR. I'm starting to wonder if it's worth porting all that crap. Work for nothing.

Well the license requires you to post the source. Could you set up a github repo for it? Also the pcsx2 d3d11 plugin should work if someone ports it, I looked into it but too much work for me.
