Ever since i bought this THL W8 16GB i have been searching for a solution for this Bluetooth bug.
The problem persists as following:
It shows on all Bluetooth devices i tried 3 different ones.
When calling away with the SIM set to 3G connection over Bluetooth carkit or headset the Mic is disformed but i can hear other side just fine.
On hang up both Sims lose connection and regain it after searching.
However if the SIM is set to 2G only the problem is not there and everything is just fine.
The network i am using is on 1800 mHz.
When abroad in different country I suspect 900mHz (Bytel france) the problem does not show either.
Already tried many roms for this phone 2 different stock ones and several modded ones.
All have the same result.
So i decided to open this tread since i know i am not the only one with this bug.
I'm open to suggestions and willing to experiment on this.

Looks like i found a fix for this, problem is in one of the parameters of the audio speech enhancement settings.
this is what i did :
enter engineer mode through moble uncle tools or gravity mod.
go to hardware testing
select audio
select speech enhancement
change common parameter to BT earphone
change parameter0 to parameter12
change the value to 20488
press back several times
reboot phone and test it
i came to this solution by comparing the differences to my jiayu in witch this was recently solved.
Keep in mind for the Bleutooth disconnection problemen you can use a different modem.img as mentioned in this thread but it will reduce reception by half so for this there is no working solution
Have been searching for more info on this issue, and as far as i can find it is a jelly bean bug.
More has been logged about it from disconnecting bluetooth issues to robotic sound when using handsfree.
Just bought a Jiayu G4 advanced next to my Thl W8 and both have the same problem.
Only thing is that the G4 does not break connection with both sim networks after calling away over bluetooth just garbles up the sound from the mic.
And the same as the Thl it gives not a single problem over GSM calling only when using 3G it garbles up the sound.
Probably will have to wait until new android version comes out.
Looks like jiayu fixed this issue for the g4 advanced.
Just installed the latest 20131022 Rom and no more Bluetooth problems
Hopefully THL will implement this fix also, if not them perhaps someone else will.
Sent from my ThL W8 using xda app-developers app
Making little progress sofar..
Got the bluetooth working with one less problem.
The thing is now that after switching some files from a phone(the jiayu) that had the same problem but does not annymore after an update the 2nd problem is gone.
no more disconnections of the network, but still garbled up sound through the mic.
More testing to be done... to be continued
edit: the replaced file is located in system\etc\firmware the file to replace is modem.img
i placed the file of the jiayu g4 advanced (from anny unzipped cwm rom)
solved

I have just made the suggested changes and can report that outgoing calls are now perfect but that incoming calls still disconnect from the network, unfortunately my network is Three and if I connect to the 2G signal I don't get any data connection.

The solution for that it's to replace the modem.img
I am using one from a jiayu Rom.
Using a file explorer with root.
Look at the description above.
Any chance you could send me a copy of the modem.img file that you are using? I tried one that I found online and lost all phone connections, luckily I had backed up my original one.

Hello, on my Thl W8, bluetooth headset is paired. I get a2dp but I have no audio on phone calls. I tried many things, like installing the stock rom, gravitymod2,samsung style, I tried the settings you mentioned above but nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you try any other BT headsets? Did you check what is selected in the BT setting next to the device that is paired? Did you try the headset on a different phone?
These are the things that first come to mind.
And when installing the other rom's did you do a full wipe?
The setting posted in this tread is only for sound quality when calling.

Thank you for answering, I tried 5 different headsets that work on other phones. I tried everything that you mentioned on your post. I know that this thread is for the sound quality but I did not find anything else that has to do with MTK device and no phone audio. You were the closest one.
Difficult problem, can't say i have the solution for you as i haven't seen that one yet.
But if you did do a full wipe before flashing as in dalvic, cache and data then all settings should be new.
If that doesn't help and the problem started out of the blue (like not after a Rom update or something) then the Bluetooth module might be broken.

I'm trying to fix this thing 2 weeks now, it started out of the blue, but the only reason I'm still trying is because I can hear music, videos and notifications through Bluetooth but no phone audio. It is just weird. Is it possible for the Bluetooth module to break and send only the a2dp? I have sent an email to THL but no answer yet. :bump:
How did you flash your phone? Cwm? I would try the flash sp program it usually rewrites more than cwm.

When I flashed the stock rom I did it with sp tools. The only thing I do not know to configure is audio on engineering mode. I tried also different configurations on /etc/Bluetooth/audio.conf, but no luck.

It should not be necessary to configure that after flashing because after flashing it should be overwritten.
I'm sure of that because every time I flash my thl I need to restore the parameter mentioned in this tread.

Hi everyone,
While using VOIP other person can't here me. It seems to be due Microphone problem.
It is my first Android device and I have it since one Month so I am not sure what is the best option to fix the problem:
- Try Factory reset and hope it will help
- Buy BT Headset
- replace firmware with Kyrillos and use Voodoo Control
- send phone back and ask to fix it.
other suggestions?
Is it with just one application or all apps? If you used just one app, try some others and see if the problem persists
Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
It's not your microphone that fail here, but it's rather a misconfiguration of your VOIP app. Try keyword NAT and STUN for your search.
A simple test would be to check with a real mobile call wether the mic is working or not.

I tried Skype, MobileVOIP, and couple of other VOIP clients. In all cases the other party can not hear me. The only thing that is working is sound test in Nimbuzz. If I start it and start other VOIP client in parallel then everything is working but the quality is poor. I guess Nimbuzz's voice test is switching on the Microphone or increase it's sensitivity somehow. It is a pity that Nimbuzz does not support my VOIP provider.

Thank you very much! It works! I installed 3CX App and entered STUN server of my VOIP Provider.
Unfortunately I still have problem. The outgoing audio quality is very poor. So other person can not understand me at all. Initially I though that it is due to connection. But this proble is stay several days and same with different SIP Clients. I found post saying that update to CyanogenMod solved this problem. As far as I know the best ROM for SG3 is Kyrillos. My question is: If I change my original ROM to Kyrillos will I be able to use Factory reset and return back to Original ROM without any problems? Somehow I did not find much about this on the net. It is may be due to the fact that nobody want to change back.
Hi all,
I'm in desperate need of help. Everything in my HTC pico is working fine except for call receiving and dialing. If I call someone with the speaker ON then they can hear me clearly & I can hear them too. But when I call someone with speaker OFF, it initially shows that its dialing but after few seconds it returns to contact list. If somebody tries to call me they get my line busy or sometimes gets connected but the caller is unable to hear me clearly. I've tried custom roms as well but issue remains. As of now I'm using Europe Stock ROM and my phone is rooted with bootloader unlocked. My phone is S-On, would that be the cause or something?? Is my phone locked for a particular network and if it is then how can I sort this out. Any advise and suggestions are welcome, many thanks.
Regards,
Tariq Alam.
Dude it seems to be a hardware issue. And its nothing to do with S-on.
Seeing to that u have tried installing different rims without sucess,u should probably head for the service centre.

Try flashing other roms iff problems persist go to service center it may be a hardware problem so they repair it!
Thanks very much for your suggestions. It's working now apparently, I'm using Europe stock rom. I'll install the custom rom and then see how it behaves. Thanks once again.
I was using stock rom and the problem seem to be solved but once i installed the custom rom CM10 for htc pico then it got worse. I reverted back to stock rom and again the problem. Having said that, none of my headphones work when i insert it into the headphone jack. I think that's the root which is causing problems.
I'll try a bluetooth device and see what are the results. Any suggestions for a bluetooth device that will not only used for calls but also for music etc.
Many thanks.

I have a Sony bluetooth head unit in my car which supports handfree and audio streaming profiles. I can play my music through the head unit just fine via bluetooth. I can also make and receive calls without problem when I am listening to the radio (ie when I am not listening to my own music). However, when I am playing my own tunes and I either make or receive a call, the head unit indicates I am on a call, it mutes the music but I just get silence through the speakers.
I used to have a Galaxy S Advance and it all worked just fine without too much configuration on the phone or head unit; basically just pair them up, make sure the right boxes are ticked in the bluetooth options and thats it.
Any idea what the problem could be? I've tried an upgrade to 4.2.2 but it didn't help...
Hi,
I have a similar problem. I can pair my s2 plus with cm11 from this thread to my car kit (Parrot MKi 9200). Playing music via phone on the car speakers works fine but when I place a call the receiving phone just gets loud static (and my voice very very silent).
I wanted to ask the developer of the cm11 I am using if he sees a way to exchange the bluetooth module (or what androis equivalent is) to the one of e.g. Android 4.1.2 because I know that one works perfectly. I am posting here because I havent reached 10 posts yet.
Of course I am open to other workarounds and ideas.
Thanks,
Kiesel

Same issue here,
everything (music etc.) is okay, but the phone connection.
I'm connecting to my Ford Sync.
I can connect, but then the quality of the voice is very very bad, I can hardly understand anything...
I thing there's a configuration file in the etc/ folder, maybe that need some upgrade?!?
Hope someone can help, because I really like to keep CM11 on my phone...

How is this message supposed to be of any help? Of course we know that. We have seen a lot of threads. I have read the whole bug report including all the comments on googlegroups, I have browsed dozens of websites and googled my ass of. What I didnt find was an explanation (at this point I dont expect to find a fast solution anymore). After reading the googlegroups bug call I thought it was a problem with the bluetooth stack that apparently is being redeveloped by google. But here cooldevelopment said it isnt a google problem.
I fully understand that it must be annoying for you to see this question a million times but please understand, that it is also annoying (and unsatisfactory) to not know whats going on.

I flashed the cooldev's kernel to get a better battery life, but after flashing, bluetooth makes the same problem as CM. Do you guys have the same issue?

Hi,
here is a logcat of a bluetooth connection during a call on stock rom/stock kernel.
What I did:
-start logcat
-start bluetooth
-chose a contact
-call contact-
-talk for a minute
-hang up
-stop logcat
I then wanted to flash the mosh kernel and do the same again but the last time I checked there wasnt this huge plethora of different kernels to choose from. Very impressive work!
Could you tell me which one you would like me to flash and I would then redo everything?
Hi,
I tried installing mosh kernel 1.8 and 1.85 (for stock, init.d enabled) on sazy rom but it didnt boot. It stayed at the very first screen you get when you turn the phone on. I then installed your cm11 build8, connected via bluetooth to my car and had someone call me.
Attached is the logcat.
Do I need the samsung stock rom for mosh kernel? I thought sazy rom was a stock rom?
I've been experiencing a very frustrating issues where the mic is not working during phone call. I can hear the the other person but they cannot hear me, and if they can it's very very low, so low that they can't make out what I'm saying.
However, the microphone does work again if I go to speaker-phone mode. So i know the Mic itself is working (sound recorder works also).
I think somehow the phone thinks a headset is plugged in and disable the mic unless I'm on speaker-phone mode.
I don't think it is a ROM issues as I have tried a large number of different ROMS, including flashing stock OPO image. None worked.
If anyone know a solution to this issue please help me out. It's very frustrating that I can't make phone calls and have to turn on speaker-phone or use a headset.
Try a different Kernel, had the problem with my 3 different Headsets, i tryed the same ROM with some different Kernels and with the AK Kernel everything worked fine...not with the Furnace! Also try to flash UKM over a Custom Kernel. Check out the AK Kernel there you can find everything you need. If you have done everything right as in the "manual" open up Synapse...there is a point called "Sound", there you can find the point "Microphone", volume it up and try again. if its still not working make a full wipe that your device loses all data and reinstall the original CyanogenMod 11s with this tool here or any tool you want!

This is my current setup and everything is working

Hi,
unfortunately I have the same problem. I've tried to fix it even modifying the system/etc/mixer_paths.xml but nothing works (http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...icrophone-ok-google-low-t2805568/post53914918). I noticed when that changing the values of hph-mic and anc-mic to 0, then handsfree mode doesn't work neither. Therefore we have clues to think the main mic is which has the problem.
Curiosly, I do not have had this issue out of the box, I think it began after 30O update. However I've downgraded to 25R and the issue remains.
I hope you the best luck
Regards

OK figured it out I uninstalled the latest hangouts update and made and received several calls all seems to be ok now
Is there any update regarding this issue? I still have this mic problem during calls and no clue on how to fix it.
OPO microphone problem is a hardware problem
Same problem here.
One morning main microphone in my OPO died - no one can hear me during call.
Recording sound with main mic gives some barely audible sounds.
tried reboot/factory defaults /root with fixing mixer paths - to no avail
The only solution is to call with speakerphone or bluetooth headset or normal headset.
Looks like hardware problem. Sadly OPO support sucks.

As I wrote - no fix - IMHO it is a hardware fault. Still waiting for response from OPO support in hope for receiving RMA.
I am also thinking to return the phone because of this issue.
Just adding that I also have this problem - phone was working fine until yesterday.
Now mic is extremely quiet in call, unless I switch to speakerphone then it works fine (Video recording sound is fine also, but Google speech to text etc is not working)
I installed Swiftkey last night but I think its unrelated
Has anyone found any solutions for this problem yet?
Yes, I sold the phone!

I´ve opened a ticket. I advice to do the same.
- They will send you a link, with the ZIP-file in this link you have to reflash the rom. But probably it won´t work.
- Then tell them that it doesn´t work (of course only if it doesn´t work).
- Apply a RMA request
- Send them your ONE
- Receive an new one.
I´m waiting for the TNT courier, at the moment.
same problem here. No response from support. now recently even the emails to [email protected] are bouncing back with error, cannot deliver your email to the address.
So.. I'm having the same problem now..
I can't even submit a RMA, as I bought the phone from a person without the invite - so I have the receipt and everything, but when trying to submit the RMA, I have to select the order - Which I have none of, isn't that just wonderfull?
Did any of you find a solution?
I've had Samsung GS3 and GS4 with almost the same issues now and it is killing me, my will to keep living with these problems are close to none...
I am using a non-rooted stock rom based Moto G 2015, XT1550.
Sometimes when i accept a call, I can't hear anything but the caller can hear my voice perfectly, that is the mic is still working.
This occurs only once or twice during the day and only when somebody calls me. Unfortunately the 30 day return/replacement period is over so I can't return the phone and my network receptions seems to be ok.
Theses are the steps I have taken to try to resolve the issue on my own but without any fruitful result:
1.Tried factory resetting the phone.
2.Wiping cache partition
3. Rebooted the phone
4.When this issue occurred tried plugging in the headphone, switched to the loudspeaker,
placed the in-call volume to the maximum but none of this produced any audio output.
5. Tried testing the earpiece using the service mode *#*#2486#*#*, worked OK.
When I faced this problem I wasn't listening to music or using any apps(like if the audio was routed to the headphone port and not switching back to the earpiece).
6.This happened before and after the recent stage fright update.
7.Disabled OK Google detection.
8. Moto assist was also off.
My data and bluetooth are always off, I am not using any new or unfamiliar apps that might cause this issue. Could this be a hardware issue? Please advise me on how to fix this issue...Really need your help :crying:
If I could find any fix I will update this post soon.
Try flashing the stock firmware, maybe that helps it.
