Hi there! I will try to write about my problem as much as I can.
I'm on stock XWLA4 and CWM 4.0.0.2. I wanted to flash CWM 6.0.1.5 (and CM10 later) but when I push start in odin my laptop give me nice BSOD. Now my Android wont load. I see first screen with device name and later error - phone on the left, pc display on the right and yellow triangle betwen them. Under it a msg:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.

Click to collapse
I can go into Recovery Mode (4.0.0.2) but don't know if it will work good.
When I enter into Download Mode im pressing Continue (Volume up) and I see green Android with "Downloading..." msg under it and next msg under it "Do not turn off target !!" just like usb cable was still plug in(?) but msg on the top of screen tell me its waiting for usb cable.
I tried flash CWM again on my PC (leptop BSOD-ing me all the time in this one case) when I push Start its stuck at:
<ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..

I read on web about one fix so I unplug usb cable and plug in, then it start to do smth and stuck at:
<ID:0/005> Removed!!
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..
<ID:0/005> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/005> Firmware update start..

If I don't unplug and wait for long enought I get this:
<ID:0/003> Can't open the serial(COM) port.

Tried on few usb ports.
I was thinking at beginning about backup with current CWM but I think "Hey, its only CWM, not all rom", then BSOD from my laptop maybe ruin everything x). Hopefully I do a backup with current CWM version. Should I try flash CWM v6 via CWM? I saw version for that.
But guys, what can I do now?
Install kies in your system so that it will update the required drivers, Then flash the Stock ROM and after that you can flash CWM V4...
CM 10 can be flashed through CWM 4 also so no need to flash CWM V6...
Recently my phone also having similar problem.. upgrade from Stock 2.3.6 KK5 (with CWM 6.0.1.1) to latest Stock 4.0.4 XLP2.. then I wanted to load CWM..
so I downloaded 6.0.1.5.. stuck at the "<ID:0/005> Firmware update start... <ID:0/005> recovery.img..." for nearly 30 minutes nothing happened.. unplugged it..start again and "Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" came out..
tried several files.. maybe my download was corrupted.. still having problem.. so I flash back stock ICS recovery via ODIN.. and tried CWM 6.0.1.1 and it works!!
I dont know why my phone could not install CWM 6.0.1.5
The are some problems with Odin-flashable CWMv6 and TWRP. Flash their zips with older versions.

By older version you mean 6.0.1.1 for example or 5.*?

Yes, saw that topic but can't find 6.0.1.1 . Or I will just try v5.5.0.4 (is it also creating some "blobs" file during backup?)
And is there any reason to use Odin v3.07? Using v1.85 atm.

I have it in My Dropbox. will update it here. But till then use V5.5.0.4. but i dont think so it has blobs for backup..
I tried to flash v5 and v4 but also stuck on recovery.img. Only this time a green bar of process move just a little at beginning. "SOS" msg in first square under "Android+SLP" is meaning smth?
And still when I go into Download Mode I see msg:

Is this a right thing if I didn't plug cable yet?
How can I try to fix it in another way? Or only what I can try is flash stock rom and then flash again CWM? But I dont know if my CWM backup I have done yesterday will work now. What if I recover backup later and this situation happen again?
Is it possible for our Royal delete and install CWM via adb console?

Great buddy. This link is not available in Adam thread. Ask him to add this one also.
Ok guys, I flash stock XWLA4 and its working . I didn't do any reset/format so could I use rom just like that again? I mean apps would be working good? Now if I want to use Titanum Bacup for some apps, everything gonna be ok later after flash another rom and I restore them from TB? Or install them in normal way and I restore only app's data?
I thought CWM is a separated thing from ROM Oo. I was wondering is it gonna work when I flash rom but not CWM .

The apk tool backs up all the apps but gives you a choice which apk to restore.. It creates an apk of all the installed apps so that you don't have to download and reinstall all apps

Hello All,
My N8020 is now semi brick after trying to flash it back to stock. It was on custom rom before but showing different errors so i decided to change the rom...First i tried to install another custom rom which was cynogenmod 10 but after intstalling this rom from cwm phone stuck at cynogenmod startup logo i waited for long time but still nothing. Then tried different versions of cynogen roms but same...After all this i decided to install a official rom so i flashed this with
N8020XXBMA3_N8020XSABMA2_N8020XXBMA1_HOME.tar
but now the real problem started..Now i can boot phone in download mode but not in recovery mode at all...Then i tried to flash a cwm via odin and get "PASS" messege in odin but still no recovery mode...Tried to flash to flash clockwork recovery several time but nothing changed and then i check in download mode the custom flash counter increase every time i try to flash cwm...then i searched the stock recovery for 8020 but when i try to flash it via odin i always get "FAIL"...
Now i m out of ideas and searching for a real solution....SO can anybody please tell me what to do next to get it back to life???
Regards,
Muneeb

You are correct, I can't find for n8020 either.

Try to flash cwm again. Don't check auto reboot in odin. When finished flashing cwm, press power+volume up, when samsung or whatever appears on screen release power but keep presing volume up until cwm loads.
Let me know if you have any luck.

I would start all over from scratch to ensure the files you used were for your device.
THIS IS THE AUTO ROOT PACKAGE FOR AN N8020. UNZIP THE FILE & FLASH VIA ODIN
THIS IS CWM RECOVERY FOR N8020. FLASH VIA ODIN
THIS IS TWRP RECOVERY FOR N8000 WHICH IS WHAT YOU WOULD USE. FLASH VIA ODIN
Its possible at this point you might need to run a pit file. Nand erase as well. Read into them before EVER attempting.

Pit yes it can be the solution but its bit risky isn't it?

Yes N8000 is the twrp recovery for N8020. Yes pit is risky but if you read into how to do it and follow it you will be just fine. Sometimes a device may require running NAND Erase also (meaning checking the box in odin). The biggest problem with pit file is people not knowing and just running it as if they were getting a custom ROM.

Can u plz tell me a bit about pit flashing how to do that????One more thing i only able to find one pit file all over the google which is created by a user so can i use that pit file..
Thanks for ur time!
I didn't find a working pit for my n 8010. Don't worry too much about the binary counter, mine was 118 today, I reset it with triangle away. I don't have the balls to do a nand erase on mine, I'm not even sure that is required for my problem, at least mine is working.

Yes, dont check auto boot though leave that unchecked and if it passes reboot to recovery and do a data wipe then reboot. If you run into error add your pit file to the pit window along with your stock tar.md5 file and run it just as I mentioned before with repartition selected
Make sure the pit file you use is for your device model/storage size

Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 WIFI (GT-N8010). I had it rooted, custom ROM on it.....frequently forced closes so i decided to cleensweep the thing. Went into TWRP....did factory reset (wipe cache, Dalvik and System) and then formatted DATA.
So no OS anymore.
Then when i wanted to flash the custom ROM (from external SD like i always do) again.....it got stuck.......couldnt flash it it said. Okay.....so.....now what i thought. I tried the procedure of flashing with the galaxy Toolkit. Doesnt work because it waits for "debug enable"....but there is no OS.....so cant do that.
Then i made the biggest mistake i guess.
I flashed new firmware through ODIN.....but accidently for the GT-N8000. Strange that the procedure went well.
Then it came: the device got stuck on the Samsung logo.....no bootloop....just the logo. When i restarted the tablet it went strait to download mode (power and vol - normally) I dont even get the choice of cancelling or continue to download mode. The screen looks like this:
ODIN MODE
product name: gt-n8000
current binary: samsung official
system status: custom
(and then in gray) RP SWREV: A2
And NO custom binary download: no
When i go into recovery mode (power and vol+) it goes strait to the android with "downloading, do not turn off device"
WHAT HAPPENED ????
And does somebody know what to do PRETTY PLEASE
Hope you guys know what to do....or is it bricked ????
PS. It's still seen by Odin !

Could I please have a secure PIT file for the GT-N8010 16GB bought in France? I've bricked my Note 10.1 after updating to the official Kitkat (N8010XXUDNE4_N8010OXXDNF1_HOME.tar.md5). I did a wipe data and cache and all seemed to be working fine for 2 days... but the tablet got stuck on a game and after a force close has been stuck in a bootloop with no access to recovery mode. I do manage to get into download mode and have tried to flash a number of times with different roms (going back seems to be impossible with KitKat) but to no avail as I keep getting an issue about 'no PIT partition'. I took it to a shop (as my warranty ran out a month ago - lucky me!) and they were also unable to flash the tablet so the issue does not seem to be the cable or the drivers (as Odin recognizes the tablet). I tried flashing with a PIT file (ticking re-partition with and without the kitkat rom) that I got on some website but I'm not certain it is the right one for my GT-N8010 and it also fails. Before I try a Nand erase I want to make sure that I have the right PIT file. By the way does the PIT file you have work with KitKat as the one I found seems to be for an outdated version of Android and as Kitkat doesn't enable one to go back to an older version of Android I'm in a catch 22 with only the Nand erase option left?
FYI, I tried flashing a recovery like TWP to try flashing custom roms but it also doesn't work.
Any other ideas? Should I tick Nand Erase and Phone EFS Clear. As the issue seems to be the kitkat bootloader is it possible to flash a bootloader? Can't find any trace of anything other than the tar files for GT-N8010 in Jelly Bean or KitKat. Anybody have a bootloader, PDA, CSC and Phone file for the GT-N8010? Can one attempt the following on a GT-N8010: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610757&page=2 ?
Thanks for any help as I've been without my tablet for weeks now!!:crying:

Lucky me! Flashing the wrong bootloader probably didn't work. I was able to flash a stock KitKat rom yesterday and my device still seems to have a working pit file.
Details: German Note 10.1 GT N8010 updated to KitKat, but the pit file seems to be older. Any other info needed?
This is how I got the pit file.
Code:
sudo heimdall download-pit --output Samsung-Note-10.1-PIT.txt
I had trouble opening the result in a text editor, so I'm not sure, I got it right. You'll probably have to rename it... Let's see, if I'm allowed to upload.

Thanks... Any idea what the name of the original PIT file is?
(I believe it should have the .pit extension. I hope I can rename this file accordingly?)
Sorry, no.
Heimdall doesn't seem to care how the file is named. I'd hazard a guess, that it's similar for most Samsung devices.
help please. .

Sorry to keep bothering you , and thank you for you'r help so far... I can't find this PIT file I read that is in the .md5 file? Really no idea, i prefer to ask instead of screwing up again.
Same problem, but I can't flash stock ever again, I can only flash custom roms, but try flashing twrp recovery and flash a rom to see if you partition is corrupted,

Use one from the G920F
Just upgrade to latest modem and bootloader for your model via odin. Also flash TWRP. Install a custom rom and you should be ok

Ok so after flashing the modem and the bootloader I'll be able to transfer the custom rom to the memory phone? or how do I do it
Thanks all of you guys for your help
I think I am in the same boot, I've tried flashing the stock rom at least 8 times with no luck even it says it passed, I even flashed modem and bootloader with with stock rom,
I don't have the files anymore. But what I had to do was this:
Download the latest Stock from Sammobile for your phone. Make sure it's the latest, that will give you the latest Modem and Bootloader.
With Odin (right click and Run as superuser), flash the Stock.
Also then Flash TWRP.
I would search in Youtube, I think I had found videos of people doing what I'm suggesting. Hope you can fix it!

Although it IS NOT recommended to use pit files, give it a shot. If your phone is already kinda bricked then you won't loose anything at the trying!
I recommend this firmware and that pit
I'm not responsible your your device is completely destroyed after this. At the odin don't use re-partition

Hey guys, I got my Galaxy S6 SM-G920I a few weeks ago and I've enjoyed everything about it, but as usual I have the need to try custom ROMs .
Anyway as usual I don't do lot of research (I'm stupid I guess), so first I flash CF-Auto-Root via Odin and... surprise phone is stuck on boot logo, so I don't panic too much , I install TWRP via Odin and everything is ok, then I download a stock firmware 3483.1 MB and try to flash it via odin but oh surprise, it fails, on the phone screen say and on odin
so right now I'm pretty desperate, I'm searching but I can't find a solution , I have hope that this has a solution so I will love you so much if you can help me.
It's a SM-G920I

I had the EXACT same problem happen to me yesterday, and it was just to do with the rom I downloaded. I downloaded the new rom from this link ( http://forum.youmobile.org/downloads/?sa=view&down=4400 ) and flashed using odin, and it worked perfectly.

Hmm but thats for the 920F should I flash that to my phone?
Just trying to root. Everything went fine until I loaded Superuser. Now, upon reboot, I get the Samsung logo, then the Virgin mobile animation, but it hangs there. I can get into TWRP, I can get into DL mode. Not sure what to try next.
I was reading to maybe flash the stock tar? Should I do that before I go and try custom?

Flash stock recovery
Don't panic, happens all the time
Just take a logcat and post it up here..
As the user above me said, don't flash stock recovery, it would most probably be flashing a stock firmware

You need to find the device version for your stock recovery. In theory it will work, but since I only own j700p that method fixed my bootloop back then for only constantly booting back to TWRP. They recently fixed that error for ours with rebooting in the TWRP program.

We must be referring to different issues. Thanks anyway.
download the original 6.0 firmware of the j7 and flash it with the help of odin
First flash the original firmware of j700f download it from sam mobiles website, the again install the twrp file as flashing firmware remove it. Then download the super su file from the given link and only download if u have j700f or otherwise it might brick again
