The question has been asked as to whether or not this is possible. Most have said no, some have said yes. What I would like is definitive proof one way or another. If you have indeed done this, please chime in. If you did this and it worked, could you please post a video of your 8013 with it's box (to verify it's actually an 8013) running an 8010 ROM?

I don't have a video to post but I flashed the Dr. Akrim 8000 rom on my 8013. Worked fine except it powers off when going to sleep.
I didn't flash it through Odin but used the zip file through cwm.

Yes it works fine; however, there seems to be a random reboot bug. I have gone back and reflashed the JB base release and am reflashing Akrim's rom. Will inform if this fixed the reboot issue.

**** that sucks. Curious if that will fix the bug. I liked the rom. Has screen recording which is pimp as hell.
Anxiously awaiting results.
Ok, just reflashed the leak JB base and then flashed the rom.
So far, REBOOT PROBLEM PERSISTS
If you put the tablet to sleep and wake it immediately its fine, but if it sleeps for more than a few seconds it crashes. I am assuming this is a result of flashing an N8000 rom on the 8013.
Wonder if it's a kernel problem. Would flashing the stock 8013 kernel matter?
Not that I know anything about development except enough terminology to sound way off base.
I am guessing It is a radio thing.

Those results aren't entirely surprising. Have either of you tried an 8010 ROM?

Odds are it is WiFi related. Probably even have the same chips, I just know that 5GHZ N is disabled on the USA versions.
Their kernels are practically identical, I know someone flashed an N8013 kernel on an N8010.
Except for the reboots on extended sleep 8000 roms seem to run fine on 8013. Howevet the random reboot is a prohibitive problem.

Without knowing what ROM you're using no one can help you. Random reboots still happen in Jellybean but they aren't every 20 minutes. Download the stable CM9 for your phone and try installing that. If you still get random reboots you have either a defective phone (not likely) or you're doing something wrong.
I'm on orthus one and it happens to me one literally every ROM I try including the stable cm9. Idk what I'd be doing wrong. I'm on sk8s latest recovery if that helps. Should I just odin back to stock and go from there?

I'm running Liquid rc1 v2 myself - it's buttah smooth! Check out TWRP recovery - it's a must for flashaholics. You can download the goo manager from playstore and install the recovery or flashable version available in dev section. Try it and you'll be hooked.
Hello,
Recently I've been facing SOD on my Tab, and I read somewhere here on xda, that it's sometimes a modem problem.
So I was thinking of changing the modem/baseband firmware only.
Is that possible and how?
I know officially there is only ICS for the Tab, and I'm currently running PA v2.50; JB.
Thanks all!

Well, i dont know which version of the tab you have (p6810 ? p6800 ?)
There is a thread discussiong wifi-dropping problems including possible solutions to flash another roms baseband if I understand it right. You might thus have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754937
Sorry forgot to mention it's a P6800. Well, I'm not having issues with my WiFi dropping, I'm having sleep of deaths. Meaning the Tab would sleep and pushing the power button will not wake it up, I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to force a reboot.

Well, maybe... I don't know
Any help? Problem is that I'm facing the same problem since stock ICS, and already tried a few custom ROMs, ending up with JellyBean now.
One thing to note is that I could limit down the rate of SOD's when I turn auto-brightness off before getting the device to sleep.

Maybe try a custom kernel and governor (Pegasus) or stock kernel and with app such as Voltage Control to change governor.

Hello,
I really appreciate the time you're taking to help with my problem - can you help though with more details?
I mean, I'm running Androguide's Paranoid Android v2.5, is it possible to flash custom Kernels? Or do I have to get another custom ROM?
I'm basically missing the bigger picture you know
Detailed help is very highly appreciated

Your problem can have a multitude of causes.
However to answer your initial question :
You can fash whatever baseband you like using PC or Mobile odin.
Just download and flash an apropriate modem.bin for your P6800
I would start by fladhing stock HC rom and then see if the problem persists on HC.
Oh and while you are rooted (i suppose), download the emmc brick bug test app from playstore to check your internal memory.
FYR. the baseband is the modem.bin inside the stock rom.
It can be replaced to your p6800 via Odin or Mobile Odin. I have extracted a few modem from different stock roms. P6800XXLA1, P6800XXPLA3, P6800XXPLW and P6800DXLP7. send me your e-mail if you want them.
For the Paranoid rom, I'm using my own build of v2.55, wifi and gps(I got 9 sat.) works fine for my p6800.
I think Androguide's 2.55 will come soon and solve you problem.
Thanks all for your input .. I've flashed another modem.bin and haven't faced SOD's.
Note however that I turn Auto brightness and WiFi off every time I let the Tab go to sleep.
I'll wait for PA 2.55 and see how things go.

Hi everyone! I'm using the official Indian ICS with Ardatdat's kernel v4.2 beta 6 1Ghz & I've been facing some problems lately.. I used ICS without any custom kernel for a week & it was working perfectly! Since I've flashed this kernel, my phone blacks out, and becomes unusable. The only solution is to remove the battery.
Now since things worked perfectly for me in the stock kernel, I would request anyone to please create a customized CWM flashable version of the Indian stock kernel with the eMMC brickbug disabled and nothing else.. I'd be really thankful to anyone who helps!

Is this the Problem that happens.:
App hangs in the middle of something or at times the touch becomes unresponsive.??? Then press the power button (a solution of such things in GB) , the device blacks out??

I have also experienced this issue. Happens with many apps, especially those requiring root access. I think it is just a simple deadlock (which cannot be recovered), although I didn't look into it. Push the power button for 7 or 8 seconds to do a hard reboot. No need to remove battery.
I just did wipe data/factory reset through cwm and now the phone seems to be fine.. Lets see.. Still exploring..

I'm on ardatdat's kernel, but haven't faced this issue yet.:fingers-crossed: Will keep checking. But I noticed one thing, when I open the superuser app, I'm not able to update the su binary. Nothing happens when I press "tap to check for updates" in the info tab of the app. Anyone facing similar issues. On GB it was working perfectly, I don't know what the issue is.
EDIT: I fiddled with the su package and found out that the problem is not ardatdat kernel but the 3.2RC3 superuser update. So if some one is facing the above issue, I would recommend flashing the latest stable su release that is 3.1.3 and then flash ardatdat kernel. Ardatdat has tweaked the kernel to not install su, if su is already installed.

WHen i restore to my stock backup It works fine.
I've tried these roms in this order:

cm10

all latest updates
I use TWRP 2.5
When i originally rooted i used ODIN and followed it to a T.
Like i said being stock my camera works. When i flash a rom it doesn't. Also i try reflashing, fix permisisions. no luck......... Seems to be the only thing not working too. Only problem is I have to have my camera!

when i was done rooting I made sure everything works then did a back up so i can always revert.
When i flash any of the roms I just flash the latest available. If it requires gapps i use the one for the build it's for. 4.1 or 4.2
And like i said I'm on twrp 2.5
The fact that it works stock tells me it's software and maybe related to TWRP? but i can't figure out how.
The new update is the problem, it breaks the camera if your rom is based on the old firmware.

Just updated the kernel to the new kt747 jb 4.2 june 8 2013 and the camera works.
Flash mb1 firmware, the modified file someone is talking about is simply the md3 modem with an mb1 tz. The md3 modem gives shotty data connection for most people and the mb1 radio will probably work better for you.
Just flash the mb1 firmware aio package, that should fix your problem.
Please try to search next time, this question has been answered everyday for a week, and this method works for almost everybody.
