ok good !
guys, any chance you could be a bit more clear on what you did? I've tried a few things now and nothing's working:
- tried Superuser app from play store, doesn't work, says I need to update binaries, which it doesn't do, looked for info on how to fix, nothing that helpful around.
- tried Chainfire's SuperSU 1.4.3 from app store as per advice here (http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...n-but-chainfires-supersu-works-and-heres-why/), didn't work, says SU binary needs to be updated, neither 'normal' (installation failed) nor 'twrp/cwm' (doesn't reboot. don't know what to do once i'm in recovery) works. I have CWM.
- I've installed superuser.zip from CWM recovery mode
- I've downloaded & put UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip in my SD card root but trying to install it from CWM fails, from either zip or sideload.
I'm using SlimBean ROM 1.4.3beta 2
Thanks

hi okopop, thanks for this.
So, just to be 100% clear:
1. you installed TWRP manager from here ?
2. Then you used TWRP in INSTALL "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip"
3. Then... anything else?
4. Did this change your ROM?
5. Did this restore you to factory settings?
6. Will it work with SlimBean ROM?
Thanks!!

1. Think i followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2034264 I did not install TWRP from google play, used fastboot commands and .img if i remember correctly.
2. I boot the phone into TWRP then install the .zip, yes.
3. Well i unlocked the boot loader before that. See link in 1.
4. Nope
5. I have always restored to factory settings before installing a new rom and after that supersu. I think i forgot to run it one time and ran it afterwards and it worked great.
6. No idea, try it! Only tried vanilla 4.3
gl mate, let me know if you get it to work!

Np!
Its running very quick and smooth, no lag.
Every vanilla 4.3 rom i have tried have had problems with the camera in different ways and other weird stuff with lock screen etc.
But those were ports from nexus 4 and others i think.
Then i found this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2402655
And i use these gapps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
I have like 140Mb+ free memory when i boot the device but i have chat apps that eat my memory, would have been nice with some more memory, else, im very happy with 4.3 on my nexus s. Feels like new phone.
First thought about CM or Slimbean but when i got this i dont think i will change. I like it standard and clean

I dont have that many apps running and have disabled alot of goolgle stuff that i dont use. Currents, play books, google+,hangouts, news&weather and so on. Got rid of alot of apps i didnt use when i finally changed to this rom. Maybe that plays in on the huge free memory, nevertheless try it out, if you dont like it go back to slim. It is better to have tried than to have never tried at all...
Sorry to bother you again dude, that new link has thrown up a mini confusion!
Lafrick's vanilla ROM suggests:
Installation steps:
Boot into recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Install aosp_crespo-jb43-v0.5.zip
Install gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip
Install superuser.zip
Reboot
Wait (first boot will take some time)
Enjoy

So here's the deal. I'm running CM9Alpha13. And while I love having my phone rooted and playing around with it, I was really only interested in getting ICS for my phone. No I know I'll miss Francisco.Franco's kernels and I'll miss Koush's awesome ROMs but I just really want a stable ICS.
So my question is how long before I can root my ICS if I do the official downgrade to GB and Upgrade to ICS?
Any guestimate would be great!
Thanks in advance.
Jon
I am sure it wont take long...just give the devs a day or so to play with things and get everything worked out.

Confirmed that this worked on Google issued phone (same as T-Mobile version). The following is the order I used to come from CM9 Alpha 11:
1. Backup using Titanium, reboot to recovery.
2. Use CWM to flash stock 2.3.6.
3. Use CWM to flash stock ICS 4.0.3.
4. Wipe all user data.
5. Install the linked superuser through CWM (I had previous tried older and newer versions, which did not work).
6. Reboot phone, go through setup, download Titanium, and restore. Phone is definitely rooted (otherwise Titanium is unusable). I did not try to update the su binaries and will avoid doing so.
any way to root with something like superoneclick?
I'd like to avoid flashing custom stuff on it. just need root.

Then fastboot boot recovery and flash the latest su zip. Even if you flashed the custom recovery it would be overwritten when you boot up the os.
Hey,
I just did the 2.20 root method posted about a week ago, and I got to the white screen without a problem. I did the htc-dev stuff, and that worked too. I pressed Yes and unlocked my bootloader (or so I thought). I flashed TWRP recovery. However, I couldn't do anything else. My phone runs normally, but I checked and it is not rooted. I realize that the new 2.20 method is a temporary root, and I checked in its thread, and was pointed to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952426. That isn't for Mac, and I wasn't able to find any way to root a 2.20 HOX, install SU, install a ROM, etc.
I installed a rom and all that on my old phone, a Motorola Atrix, without too many problems, so I'm not completely illiterate. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

no, because i don't know how to do it. should i flash it using fastboot (while the phone is in white screen)? if so, what file do I flash? I got a SU zip, but I'm not sure what to do with it. But I can confirm that I've installed twrp correctly, because I can go to twrp from the white screen by using the volume up/volume down buttons and the power button and going to Recovery.
Thanks for your help

Okay, a couple more questions. Where should I get the su zip? I googled it and found a directory of a bunch of different versions of SU, but it hadnt been updated since like July. Also, what command do I use to install the su.zip?
./fastboot.OSX flash recovery su.zip doesn't work. I'm just now realizing that I should download it to phone memory and install in recovery from there.

2. I said reboot in twrp/recovery (do not flash su.zip in fastboot) and hit the install menu, select the su.zip and swipe to flash
3. go back to main menu and hit reboot and then system
4. download SuperSu.apk from chainfire in the Market
5. open it, it'll probably ask you if you want to update the binaries, go ahead and do so.
You should be good to go.

So I have watched lots of tutorial videos, used toolkits, etc. but I am unable to root my OPO!
I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP.
I have flashed SuperSU from TWRP 5-6 times, it says it is flashed successfully, but when I reboot, I don't have root.
I have also tried downloading a pre-rooted stock rom and flashed it but it had the same result!
Any ideas anyone? Btw I am on the latest stock rom (30O)

Are you planning to use a custom ROM or what is the goal you're trying to accomplish?
I understand that you're trying to root. But what ROM are you planning to use with ROOT?
Try a custom ROM, do the following
1. Download your ROM, Gapps (if needed), custom kernel (if you want), supersu http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
2. Put it on your phone
3. Boot into TWRP
4. Factory reset
5. Flash ROM, Gapps, custom kernel, supersu
6. Reboot
... and you should have root.

Ok, it does not hurt to try them all if need be. Just the way your post read I am sure he would of said he tried a custom rom but trying more than 1 is something I hope he at least did prior to posting.
OP how many roms have you tried?
Also when your phone boots up, give it a good 1-2 minute before you check if you have root.
Download the SuperSU from the link I provided in the previous post.
Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck to check. A pop up will appear asking if you want to grant or deny access, grant it.
ok so I found the solution to my problem after flashing supersu using all available recoveries several times!
I unchecked the option "Respect CM root settings" in the SuperSU app and it worked!

Hi, I was running Lollypop with franco kernel on my Nexus 5. I wanted to change my rom but sadly i wiped the cache, system and dalvik without copying the rom I had to flash into my nexus. I have a TWRP. Windows doesn't recognize my nexus and if i try to install throught my otg cable i got an error who says E:Mount: Unable to find partition for path *hammerhead image.zip*
What can I do?
You need to get windows to detect your device.
Go to my adb and fastboot thread (general > sticky roll-up) and install the universal drivers.

Yes, I didn't turn off my phone or reboot it since the wipe because when I try to do it TWRP says No Os installed! are you sure yuoi wish to reboot?
Turn MTP mode on in TWRP

Where is the error?
In the prhone when I go in the TWRP->Install->choose the hammeread zip image->Swipe to confirm flash-> it gives that error and says failed
What exactly are you copying to the phone?
image-hammerhead-lrx22c, who I found in hammerhead-lrx22c-factory-0f9eda1b, which I downloaded from google

That's not a flashable ROM.zip
If you want a stock, recovery flashable ROM to flash, go to general > sticky roll-up > section 6 - resources and download a flashable zip by vomer
I see, so I have to dowload the rom, the Rom, the radio and superSU, then flash them in the same order, right?

Just ROM and if you want root, yes SuperSU. Not really sure what end result you're looking for. Flash radio of you like.
As you probably understood, It's my first time doing that. Well, second, but the other time I had a friend with me. What I want to do is first of all get my phone working again, and hopefully that should do the trick. Then I'd like to install a custom kernel (ElementalX) and that's pretty much all I want.

You'll be fine with this, I'm confident.
I hope so! In 4 minutes I'll have the N5_LRX22C.zip, wich I will flash. To be sure, correct me if I'm wrong, I have to Install throught the TWRP, than flash supersu and in the end install the kernel zip from the recovery, right?
Yes, you can flash supersu after the kernel and I'm sure it will work (some kernels require supersu to be flashed after and reflashed every time you update kernel)

Elemental X will be fine though so as long as ROM goes first, rest is fine...
Oh OP, ensure you have latest SuperSU beta
Thank you both! I've done it all! Thank you very much, you pretty much saved my night.
Is it possible to install xposed framework on cm12s?
Through the xposed installer I always get an error: 'CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE: could not load library "libdvm.so" needed by "/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/app_process"; caused by library "libdvm.so" not found'
It also says that Xposed is not compatible with Android SDK Version 21 or my Processor architecture.
Obviously I am using a OnePlus One. With CM12s.
Thanks in advance,
TheKampfkeks96
I also have this issue. I haven't looked through any forums yet though, I just saw your post and thought I'd see if you had anything on it.

Try to use the latest alpha. Also, there is an apk (installer) and one zip you need to flash in order to make it work.
Downloads:
xposed-arm-*.zip: Must be flashed with a custom recovery to install the framework.
XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha*.apk: Must be installed to manage installed modules

Keep in mind that you need to flash the super alpha version for 5.1. A lot of stuff will be broken regardless what version you are on.

Cm 12s is 5.0.2 not 5.1 so you should go with 3.0 alpha build 2 on official xposed thread..

Lifesaver! Thank you... commonsense prevails :silly:
I updated my oneplus last night with the latest OTA YNG1TAS2I3 and my copy of xposed didnt work in TWRP... so searched and found the latest arm22 version.... this still didnt work.
Reading your comment made me think to go back to the original old school 3.0 alpha version - THIS WORKED.
Thank you again!
Thanks for the reply. But I think the rest of the OnePlus One users would like to know exactly where you down loaded the files and any installation instructions we may need. Not knowing what old school means in this case.

I have downloaded it from the above link.
--> Download arm.zip and flash it and then wipe dalvik cache and reboot and be patient.
--> Download the alpha4.apk and install
--> You're good to go,Download your favourite modules
It worked for me

Error with latest update YOG4PAS1N0
Hi,
flashed yesterday this Image (I am on TWRP), I tried to flash again flash 3.0 but I got an error from TWRP and when started the device was unusable (lot of FC).
Had to flash again the Image.
Anyone with this problem? I don't want to try again because the wipe cache and subsequent "Upgrading..."is excuciating
Thanks!

I did not quite get your exact problem.Hence I am trying to reiterate clearly.
--> Download the arm.zip(not 64) file in the above link.Reboot to recovery(twrp).Go to install and locate the file and flash it and wipe dalvik/cache and reboot and be patient.
--> After reboot, download the .apk(alpha4) file from above link and install it and open the installed xposed installer app.
Hope it is more clear than my earlier comment and it helps you

When you say be patient, how patient is patient? I've left it for 10-15 mins and still never gotten past the splash.
Which version is your OS?It worked in 5.0.2
