Regular picture wallpapers create a lot of lag no matter what the resolution of the photo is and how I crop the image to set the wallpaper, even factory wallpapers. Switch over to Live wallpapers and its streamline baby smooth. No lag at all. I don't want to use a live wallpaper, I have many nice regular static picture wallpapers that I'd like to use. What is the cause of this; it's strange to me. Thanks in advance.
Hmm never heard of this issue. Maybe a live wallpaper keeps the home screen more active and awake thus reducing loading time?
Anybody else care to chime in on this?

Is there a way to get good looking wallpaper on the G-Tablet? The stock ones look terrible and zoomed in, and when I tried to make my own I noticed it was having me crop it in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Does Android just not support high-res widescreen wallpaper right now?
Do you have a TnT rom installed? I've experienced that as well, also it doesnt seem like 16bit colors are supported on TnT.
Try the zPad rom it handles it much better.
Alternatively you can try to use some of the live wallpapers, they dont seem to be effected by any weirdness.
I have not been able to get the ratio right to make my own wallpaper work on zpad either. I will see what the live ones look like.

I use that too and it works great. Different wallpaper for each screen, and they fit the right way.
I Just try to google Very High Quality Bg's and if they are zoomed in they still look good, probelm is that its usually Random design Bg's so they dont look bad zoomed in but that means you cant really get a picture of somthing you really like.
Market issues???

using blue skies and thunder storm live wallpapers causing noticeable lag and delay when moving widgets or scrolling through the home screen pages. Anyone else having this issue?
Yup, I can't use them .
Most of em cause mega lag. I use starfield live wallpaper and it has 0 lag.
Same here lagged really badly!
It lags either way.

I have zero lag using Aquarium live wallpaper with Launcher Pro. I only have one screen though but it is fully loaded with widgets. Where do you see the lag?
I just made this video with Live Wallpaper to show my experience. And it is my first ever YouTube video! Anyway, hope it helps:

even beautiful weather animations are choppy, without a live bg.
When i wake my XooM from it's sleep, the UI lags for a few seconds when swiping through the homescreens. but once I begin using the music player/gallery the in-app speed bounces back to normal (no lag). Just lag on homescreens.
I've heard in a different thread that you can stop/relaunch the launcher service to fix it. but I don't see that service running to stop it.
Hi Guys,
it's kind of irritating when the wallpaper i set gets crop off certain parts. ie, the hands or something. the wallapaper juz wun fit into the potrait and landscape mode perfectly. is there a way where i can juz set everything to be shown as it is, esp in potrait mode? (i seldom use landscape).
Wallpaper wizardrii app with 'stretch portrait' setting is working much better for my portrait ready resolution wallpapers. the system default wallpaper tool seems a bit flakey, works sometimes but not others.

I tried the wallpaper cropping apps for my nookcolor and they weren't that great and not easy to use.
What I use now is Quickpic, which I also use as my default gallery app. It allows you to set portrait or landscape wallpapers and cropping is easy, with no degradation of image quality.
ok noted. thanks guys!
Does anybody know the name of this live wallpaper?

It looks like Waterdrops plus live wallpaper as you can use a customer wallpaper behind the effects:
If you look at the video on the play store for the above the effects are extremely similar, its just got a different background
Thanks
I've done it...waterdrops plus from Google Play store and a wallpaper called Rain Wallpaper HD from Zedge.
Just switched from Note 4 to S6. So problem is i have some great high-res wallpapers and when i set it as wallpaper it's not showing in high quality, I didn't had that problem on Note.
When i look at the same image in gallery it's stunning, but when it's set up as a wallpaper its not that sharp as it should be. Same probelm in TW and in Nova Launcher.
This is how it looks in gallery. Sharp and no problems.

This is how it looks as wallpaper, blurred and not sharp. Notice red eye sharpness. Not that visible on PC but problem is there.

Try going to settings > Display and Wallpaper > Screen Mode.
Found a solution. By using app SB Wallpaper Changer i can set up any image as wallpaper and it's finally showing in its full QHD glory. Can't believe no one else noticed that or reported problem.
ok i have a very good solution for this problem
Steps
} Uninstall "styles and wallpapers " app using root
} Now download "wallpapers" app by Google llc
For this method to work your android must be above 7.0
If you don't want to uninstall styles and wallpapers or you don't have root access just download any wallpaper applier application and change wallpapers from that app .
