Hi Guys,
it's kind of irritating when the wallpaper i set gets crop off certain parts. ie, the hands or something. the wallapaper juz wun fit into the potrait and landscape mode perfectly. is there a way where i can juz set everything to be shown as it is, esp in potrait mode? (i seldom use landscape).
Wallpaper wizardrii app with 'stretch portrait' setting is working much better for my portrait ready resolution wallpapers. the system default wallpaper tool seems a bit flakey, works sometimes but not others.

I tried the wallpaper cropping apps for my nookcolor and they weren't that great and not easy to use.
What I use now is Quickpic, which I also use as my default gallery app. It allows you to set portrait or landscape wallpapers and cropping is easy, with no degradation of image quality.
ok noted. thanks guys!

Is there a way to get good looking wallpaper on the G-Tablet? The stock ones look terrible and zoomed in, and when I tried to make my own I noticed it was having me crop it in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Does Android just not support high-res widescreen wallpaper right now?
Do you have a TnT rom installed? I've experienced that as well, also it doesnt seem like 16bit colors are supported on TnT.
Try the zPad rom it handles it much better.
Alternatively you can try to use some of the live wallpapers, they dont seem to be effected by any weirdness.
I have not been able to get the ratio right to make my own wallpaper work on zpad either. I will see what the live ones look like.

I use that too and it works great. Different wallpaper for each screen, and they fit the right way.
I Just try to google Very High Quality Bg's and if they are zoomed in they still look good, probelm is that its usually Random design Bg's so they dont look bad zoomed in but that means you cant really get a picture of somthing you really like.
Market issues???

Is there a way to get all of the photos when viewing with the gallery to fill the screen without having to switch to landscape mode?
On my windows phone, using HTC's album viewer and scrolling thru the pics, they always were rotated the correct way as to fill the screen without having to rotate the phone, whether they were taken as portrait of landscape pictures.
This is a bit annoying.
Oh, and a second question, how about a way to make the gallery go into camera shots by default when I push the gallery shortcut.
Thanks all wise android gurus.
Why is it that when I download a wallpaper in the specified resolution it still crops out half of the photo when i set it as a wallpaper? 1280x800 right??
Try zedge on play store
1920x1408. Remember, it has to scroll, too, and not just in one orientation. It has to scroll in both landscape and portrait mode.
Or try QuickPic from the playstore use it as a option when changing wallpaper
much better than stock for setting wallpapers

This app auto detects your devices resolution and then resizes the selected image to the Height and (Width * 2) of the screen in pixels.
"One click auto resize gallery image to best fit your device screen, then set as background wallpaper.
Usually produces better quality than default android method."
Features,
1. Crop and Scale
2. Scale without Cropping

Looks nice but I don't have access to it on my mobile. Says it's not compatible, though I'm on jelly bean. Would you mind sharing the app?
Thanks.

Just switched from Note 4 to S6. So problem is i have some great high-res wallpapers and when i set it as wallpaper it's not showing in high quality, I didn't had that problem on Note.
When i look at the same image in gallery it's stunning, but when it's set up as a wallpaper its not that sharp as it should be. Same probelm in TW and in Nova Launcher.
This is how it looks in gallery. Sharp and no problems.

This is how it looks as wallpaper, blurred and not sharp. Notice red eye sharpness. Not that visible on PC but problem is there.

Try going to settings > Display and Wallpaper > Screen Mode.
Found a solution. By using app SB Wallpaper Changer i can set up any image as wallpaper and it's finally showing in its full QHD glory. Can't believe no one else noticed that or reported problem.
ok i have a very good solution for this problem
Steps
} Uninstall "styles and wallpapers " app using root
} Now download "wallpapers" app by Google llc
For this method to work your android must be above 7.0
If you don't want to uninstall styles and wallpapers or you don't have root access just download any wallpaper applier application and change wallpapers from that app .
