[Q] [10.1] New Here - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I just bought a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5113, as i read through the development, i see alot of roms and a couple kernels. I'd like to know from your personal experience which kernel is the best for Samsung Stock 4.1.1, also which is the best (in your opinion) custom ROM, and custom rom kernel to go with it.
Thanks, I'm very pleased with my Tab 2 10.1 so far. Its a little sluggish, but thats okay. I'm an owner of the LG Optimus G, so im not use to these sluggish, low spec devices, but for $200, you cannot beat the deal i got! (For a "New In Box"/"opened box" device)

There are a few different versions of the 10.1 Tab2. If you picked up the ATT I497 version then there is practically no development for it.

which is the best custom rom for galaxy note 10.1 ?

Hello everyone,
I just switch from ipad 4 to galgaxy note 10.1. The S-pen function really impressed me. Can someone recommend the best custom rom ? I prefer jelly bean's.
That's a personal personal preference, but there's a couple of roms in the dev forum... Take a look in those threads and see what people are saying...
If you got the 3g variant of the note you have a better chance of finding a rom, especially JB, than if you got a wifi-only version...

[Q] AOSP for Verizon s4?

Hey guys, I know it hasn't shipped out yet but I am thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy s4 on Verizon and am wondering if anyone knows whether or not there will be an AOSP ROM for it. I currently have the Galaxy Nexus, and before that i had the first Droid so Touchwiz scares me! I have read a lot about there being so many different versions that the custom ROMs for this device might be lacking and now with the pure android version being released by Google it makes me even more worried that the Verizon folks are going to get left out of the pure Android experience on the Galaxy S4 - if that is the case I might have to pony up for the Note 2.
Even if its speculation I would love to hear your thoughts and I apologize if this has been addressed (I searched, I swear) or if I'm putting this in the wrong section

TF701t, Will there be some love for the new Transformer

I am wondering if there is any planned development for the recently released updated Transformer. I am currently looking at getting one but I would like to know that there will be updated ROMs that will be released for it. I noticed it doesn't seem to have its own forum yet. Does anyone know if it is likely to be supported in the future by ROMs like CyanogenMod? Or will it be one of the unlucky unpopular tablets that doesn't get any custom ROMs? Like the galaxy Note 10.1

[Q] VZW SCH-i925 stock rooted > 4.1.2 ?

I have been relatively happy running on Stock Rooted 4.1.2 on my (2012) Verizon GN 10.1 (SCH-i925) for a while now. This device, unfortunately didn't get much love due to the very few people that bought it. After having a couple of Verizon LTE tablets I've about decided it's not worth buying from Verizon since you get almost completely different hardware from the rest of the world. In any case I digress.
What I want to know with 4.3 or is it 4.4 for these tablets showing up is anyone working on a stock rom higher than 4.1.x? I like CM and all that for about anything except a Note tablet. Unless something's changed since last time I looked for this there is no way to get the samsung features and frameworks in there to do multi screen etc on the CM roms right? Anyone out there still wanting to breathe some more life into these VZW tablets now that the new ones are out?

Just curious, but how did you get it rooted? There is no known Root method on 4.1.2, at least that I know of.
It's been quite a while but if I'm not mistaken I was on an earlier version and then there was some upgrade path to keep root. Found it here on xda

[Q] Which Samsung 10.1 would YOU chose?

I am a mildly disappointed owner of an AT&T SGH I-497.... SERIOUSLY looking at changing it up and want a SAMSUNG 10 inch tablet I can customize without issue and that has GOOD development....... Which model does everyone recommend? Thanks in advance.... thinking of learning development on my 10.1 since the file system appears broken....

Go away from the carrier locked down versions and go with a wifi only tab. They have unlocked bootloaders and you can run custom roms on them without issue. As far as which ones I'd look around, the Galaxy Tab S series looks good but you may want to look around the forums here for what's the better option for development
From my S3 on Wicked 4.3
