I flashed an inverted Google Now zip from here with no problems, but I've decided I don't like it. How can I return to the stock Google Now (Google Search 2.6.7.721924)? I've tried looking for a 'stock' Google Search .zip to flash but couldn't find any. Any tips?

You can download Google apps from here then flash it via clockworkmod.

Flashing via clockwork didnt work for me. you need to download all the apps individually from the market or restore them via titanium back up.
I download them from market.

These are the gapps for CM7. I thought I remembered reading that gapps are NOT compatible across different ROMs....wrong?
As long as market is there you can get to everything else at least.

gapps are gapps. its not restricted to any ROM. but most ROMs do consist of those gapps so its not needed to flash gapps separately.
I just installed Tweaked 2.0 and love it but I don't have any google apps and my home button rarely works. Anyone else have these issues? and where can i find a google apps package?
Ran a factory reset from CWM and everything's working now
All you need to do is flash a gapps.zip file from ClockWorkMod Recovery. That will install all the google apps.
Just Google gapps.zip download or search some XDA forums and you should be able to locate, download and flash them. Any outdated apps will be automatically (with permission of course) updated once Play is installed.
I am on CM10 with standard gapps. Can I flash an inverted gapps over the standard gapps without wiping? Will I still be able to update gapps through the play store or do I have to wait for someone to upload updated inverted gapps?
Yes you can wipe standard gapps without wiping. I flashed Contacts and MMS from here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29460-in...-10-13-gmail42-play-store-google-youtube4123/
When you update gapps, it will probably overwrite the inverted gapps, so you would have to flash the inverted again. There aren't many official gapp updates anyways. Anytime there is a CM10 update, you need to reflash. Also obviously, if in the play store has an update, and you update - when your reflash, it will be exactly the same as the previous inverted mms you have or whatever inverted app, and won't have any of the updates/bug fixes that the play store version had.
An example is there is a new gmail coming out soon. If you update from the play store, you will get the new gmail, with the stock look. When you reflash inverted gapps, you will get the same inverted gmail you had before and not have the new features of gmail like pinch zoom and swipe to archive until the person who created the inverted gapps updates it.
Also just curious, what gapps are you going to flash?
Flashed with these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797292
So far so good
it includes the new play store and gmail 4.2.
I should have read more closely and seen that it had some junk with it miui music player for example. Nothing esfile explorer can't remove though.
It also removes some market restrictions at the expense of automatic updates but I'm not too worried about that since I usually end up updating manually before google slowly pushes out the update.
I already cleared the old apps from my app list, best addition to 3.9.16 market.
I take that back ran into a few problems with apps crashing. Maybe not such a good idea.
Hi all,
I have an Ainol AX7 Flame tablet and flashed the newest official ROM for it. Now i dont have the possibility to add a Google account and there is no Play Store on the tablet. I searched the Net for info. I found that there are MANY different Google Play Services versions.....but do i need that to add a Google account ? And do i need that to add Google Play store ?
I have downloaded a few Google Play store apps...but they close immideatly if i start the app without errors or FC warning.
Any ideas ????
PS I rather do not want to root or custom ROM....wanna keep it stock.

For installing google play (store) you either need a rooted android or at least a custom recovery. Custom recovery is the easy way as you can flash a "google apps" package. Without root or custom recovery there is NO way to get the play store working if its not pre-installed

1st. I thought I can finally buy and download paid apps from google play if I create and installed the modded app of Play store using Lucky Patcher, so.... I installed and create a modded Playstore using lucky patcher, but then... I'm wrong, It didn't work in that way I want.
2nd. Since I realized that I can't buy paid apps, I want to remove and delete the modded play store remove the patch or whatever the lucky patcher has done to my Google playstore. So what I did.... I uninstalled the Google playstore using lucky patcher then..... BOOM! no more Google Playstore (obviously) :crying: simple as that, but I still have the Google Play Services.
3rd. What I did next believing that this will fix my problem
>>> Search for the possible solutions in google, I searched everything to help me get back the pre-installed/original Google Playstore in my Android Tablet.
Upon searching I saw a solution here from XDA forum someone said that, install updated Google Playstore from the browser. So i did installed it but the problem is: I can't Install apps from google playstore I have downloaded from the browser (Chrome), so what I did next I uninstalled it.
>>> Remove the Root of my Tablet and Factory Reset it........ after that :crying: :crying::crying: I didn't find the playstore obviously It didn't work, It is completely lost, I try to find it in settings > apps...... still no playstore
I've searched and do everything in the internet of what I can do to Fix this , but XDA-Developers is my only choice
Please I'm begging you all to please help me for those who know how to fix this and get back my original Google Playstore

Anyway, fastest solution I can think of is to look around for a custom recovery and flash it. Then look for gapps flashable zip and install it via custom recovery. That should add play store back.

First you need to find out how to install a custom recovery on your device
Second, you should find the gapps.zip file for your specific Android version
Third, flash via your custom recovery and you should be good to go
