[Q] Sony Xperia J ST26i Root - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

I currently have android 4.1.2(jelly bean) on my sony xperia j st26i. I want to root the phone and install cyanogenmod 10. But different sources in internet say that sony xperia j officially does not support cyanogenmod 10. Does this mean it will brick the phone if i try to flash the stock ROM with cyanogenmod 10? Also I want to know whether i will get improved perfomance if cyanogenmod 10 is installed. Any help is appreciated.
Kernel version 3.4.0
Build number 11.2.A.0.31

SE Xperia Pro MK16i Cyanogen Mod 9

Hey there!
Yesterday I rooted my SE Xperia Pro MK16i according to the tutorial mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865796
Now I have a root access but my kernel/rom doesn't support overclocking. Some data of my phone:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband-Version: 8x55A-AAAABQOAZM-203028G-77
Kernel-Version: 2.6.32.9-perf
Build: 4.1.B.0.587
Is it possible to install a custom ROM like Cyanogen Mod 9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445819 on my phone? What do I have to pay attention for?`
Thanks for your replies
How did you manage to root?

This is not an answer to your question. (Sorry about that) In fact, I wanted to ask you a question. I have the same mobile with the same kernel build but I couldn't manage to root. I get stuck when I have to root using DoomLord's method. I am able to flash the 562 kernel but, my phone doesn't display anything after that. (The instructions say its normal as there is a kernel mismatch) but the batch file is not able to root as after flashing the "USB debugging" and "Unknown sources" is turned off by default. And I can't turn it on as my screen won't display anything. Any suggestions?

It is possible, you have to upgrade to ICS first, or if you like GB you can install Cyanogen Mod 7.

Xperia e mods

hi friend i am beginer with this so i have questions i have XPERIA E C1505 with jellybean 4.11 11.3.A.2.23 my phone is rooted,
so i have q which Cyanogen mod i can install on this device CG mod 10, CG mod 10.1 CG mod 10.2 CG mod 11 ??
if anyone of this yes pls type me which version cos on this cyan. mod site there are milion version of this mod
my phone only use for sms calling and sometimes i goint on net via WI-FI.
so i dont need radio play games use facebook etc. not need also camera.
so i want only that with this mod i can use normal my phone also internet via WIFI or GSM (ORange internet)
thanks for help.
i dont know why stupid sony not release android 4.2 for this device or 4.3 cos i think that 4.4 kitkat will be not supported or ?
second which ROM is stable and good for this machine so can i use cyag mod and any other ROm ?
OK, pick one here:
Fastest ROM: XboosT (Android 4.0, stock based, extremely minimal)
Fastest JB ROM: Termin (Android 4.1, stock (soon CM) based, recommended)
Most customizable ROM: CM10 (Android 4.1, CM, video recording and compass don't work)
If your bootloader is locked: Stock ICS (Android 4.0, stock, fastest stock ROM)
If your phone is dual SIM and you want JB: CM10 (Android 4.1, CM, video recording doesn't work)
I suggest you just go with Termin, it's easier to flash then CM10. Very good performance aswell

hope that they not only give kitkat for expensive devices like Z1,Z etc...
xperia E is not very old device so pls do it google
i dont know why sleping sony not give 4.2 4.3 for xperia E

any solution how enable Automatic detection of brightness ?
No - no auto brightness, and no KitKat update as well. We'll have CyanogenMod 11 eventually, but stock KitKat? No chance.

nanhu.forTheWin(!!);?
:victory:
Haha.
On-topic: you can't expect from Sony to update all their devices. It sucks of course, but don't get angry about it. Building updates takes people, and building updates for every Android model they released, takes a lot of people. Those people cost money, and Sony would lose only money if they put effort in creating KitKat for our phones.

@MatsPunt Yes. Just yes.
Well, we still have three different Android versions available for everybody - 4.0.4, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. That's way more than, say, the Galaxy Young [basically the same thing as ours, just a smaller battery and 3.2 inch screen] or most Chinese phones.
why stupid sony not give to xperia 4.1.2 ? or 4.2 4.3

[TIPO] What's the best ROM you ever had?

I will try to sort results in a "highscore" of the best ROMs to see which is REALLY the best ROM.
My vote: Cyanogenmod 10, because it is the most functional port OS for Android
Highscores table:
Cyanogenmod 10: 1 vote
Stock ROM without junkware: 1 vote
I will add a ROM to list as soon as it gets named.

My device:
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i (tapioca)

Stock ROM deleting FB/Twitter/Timescape apps.

Not! Great news for 2203 owners.
Hi guys!!
I ve heard that the AOSP for xperia e3 only works on D2203 model, but in root method D2203 was compatible with D2206/D2243 but we are talking of an AOSP, so the compatibility issues can be at the order of the day.
So, I have two questions
Does it works on D2206/D2243 model (keep in mind rooting method and kernel SoC compatibity)?
If so, How can i return to stock rom if i dont like AOSP in my E3?
Thanks

I,ve already answered you on another post but this post has an extra question if you have kernel working from method then you also have cwm. Use it to make backup on external SD card cause internal is small it can't store full nanadbackup after flashing aosp if you lose cwm just flash boot.img from root method and restore it.
D2203, AOSP build from AOSP_L_150125_flamingo.zip
After the first boot, when the dipslay off, will never display again, if push the Power button.
Is this screen wake up bug?
How to solve this?

Thanks for that. Can you quickly explain what is the difference between the two repositories:
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel-copyleft
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel
The build instructions on both pages are very similar but only referring to the different github sources and using different defconfigs (aosp_xxxx_defconfig vs. xxxx_defconfig). I seem to gather the second repo ("kernel") is the "unified kernel"?
