[Q] Too many pattern attempts on un-rooted Rugby Smart - General Questions and Answers

im in a bit of a spot got a Samsung Rugby Smart recently from a friend, wiped it and input my gmail date in. my daugther was trying to unlock it and missed the pattern too many times. worse part is it wont accept my gmail.com info. is there anyway around this like installing a new OS. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but cracking of pattern lock is only possible if debugging mode is on ...
But there are many post on xda that claims that you can crack pattern lock even if your debugging mode is off ... try it ...
Best of luck...

Have you tried flash HSPL of TP2 on top of it?
yes but windows isnt recognizing the device so the hspl for tp2 wont work cuz it says that its not connected

Agreed - i've 'bricked' my tp1 several times, and forced the reflash from hardspl on, successfully from the bootloader screen, instructions to get there are all over.... Thinking positive here

i had the same problem with my tp1 - forced to boot loader, and just forced the flash even though the screen was blank. I AM NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THIS. But on that particular model on its OWN roms it worked for me ^^

very scary process hehe

Thanks for the help all. But i could not even get the little led to come on. I imagine the device was on seeing as windows knew something was there however it could not find a driver. So i called Verizon and have them shipping me a new one.
if windows sees it, you might be able to reinstall stock rom.. windows wont even see mine

I dont think so, I think you have to have a bootloader waiting for the rom.
other option would be JTAG it, i dont think anybody has done it so far, you need a hardware guy to figure out where the jtag points are on the phone board for that.

heh i literally described it.
I just took the battery out, to make sure it was powered down. did the keys for boot loader, and just trusted it would make the connection.
had to try a few times, and its been a while since i did it - but as i recall i told the bastard flash on the computer and walked away, and the next time i got bootloader, so i turned it off and let it charge, then back to bootloader and flash and i was fine.
now for me i had flashed a gsm on cdma iirc and ive no idea why the above worked at all. Likely the flash was corrupted on the way in or something, but its been so long there's no way to remember enough details to see if its even something that's been observed in that state and sequence of events.
Code:
and for you lazy ppl - this board doesnt do multiquoting correctly, as they went lateral [more in a chain - good] but left out depth [how many sam quoted lucy quoted billy levels can we get]
so if your curious here's something for how to manually multiquote:
when your the third in the chain, you have to go to the quoted post and push quote copy and paste that. then go to the post you WANTED to quote, and right where the writing starts paste away:
[ QUOTE=rk73;4859704 ] [ QUOTE=starscalling;4856587 ]inner[ / QUOTE ]
outer [ / QUOTE ]

[Q] Is That Possible (About an android phone)

Hello. I'm a little paranoid here. Please help me.
I was trying to update my Samsung Galaxy mini (s5570) with kies. Electricity went off while "downloading" image was on the screen. I panicked and remove phone's battery and make it off. (I don't know why)
Since then I have black screen. I can't get into recovery mode etc. But when I plug in the phone, pc sees it. Kies fails repairing it.
Phone has a 7digit screen lock and avast anti theft installed. If I gave it somebody to repair, can he repair and read the smses inside it? The data on the phone is not important to lose, but I don't want somebody read my sms. Is it possible?

Is it possible? Maybe but no repair shop would do it. Can you get into download mode? You most likely corrupted the software and it may need to be jtaged

thank you for your answer.
So, it is possible to read the texts in a probably bricked, password protected and anti theft app installed phone, if I get it right?

Anti theft apps really dont work if someone knows what they are doing. If the computer can see it then it is possible to pull the info from the phone. It will not be easy but it can be done. Passwords have no use unless the phone is on.

The only way to wipe it is to flash new software to it. Think of it like a PC hard drive. As long as it has not been over written then the info can be recovered but if it get over written then it is gone. To be honest you have little to no worry as to do what you are afraid of would take way too much time for a repair shop to even deal with.

Unless he is an Android/Linux hardcore developer you have nothing to worry about. Even Then it would take him a week or more to do it.
No, it won't be possible. The only way to fix it would be to get a stock image on the device through either Jtag or odin. Once that is done, it will be clean slate and without you signing into your Google account, their will be no indication that the phone was ever yours...

No problem. Only know as I had to do it for one of my devices and it took me a month to get it to where I could mount it on a linux box and then pull what I needed from the system partition.

How to enable USB debugging with broken screen

Today my Galaxy S4 broke and the screen shows nothing and the touch does not work. I know its broken by the fact its shadered too. Im getting a new phone but I need to get some things off of it before I do but there is one fatal flaw... USB debugging is off. This means i can't use adb or any programs like [email protected] to get the files off or enable debugging. Iv been spending hours trying to figure out how to get my pictures and files off but with no luck and im getting kinda frustrated.
I am using a Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4.2 and it is Rooted with SuperUser, if that will help at all.
Any way I can get my pictures and files off is welcome, but please do not just point me to a different forum as iv been looking for hours and can't find anything. Google was not in my favor this time...
Also note I am not using a SD card, kinda dumb on my part...
please help...
Hi,
Is your Galaxy S4 is secure-locked?
Also, this thread should be moved to Q&A section of Galaxy S4 forum so Galaxy S4 users are able to assist you more.

I don't really know if you're on a custom rom but found something with Kies
Kies will not let you access your phone unless you unlock the screen on the device, this can be done relatively easily!
Go onto the Samsung website and click the 'find my phone' button (or simply google this).
Log in and there will be an option on the left hand side of the screen to unlock your screen remotely, click this and when the progress bar filled it will say 'your phone is now unlocked'.
Connect with your USB Cable and Kies will allow you access to your files.

This just happened to me! Phone works but screen and LCD broken and unresponsive. I had a screen lock too so what I did was I took off the back plate, removed the battery, and unscrewed the six screws to uncover the PCB board under the back housing. Then I carefully disconnected all the tiny ribbon connectors. I waited a minute just to be superstitious and then reconnected all the ribbon connectors and put everything back to how it was. Then I downloaded Kies from the Samsung website, plugged my phone into a computer via USB and was able to view all my files! Something about disconnecting the PCB board resets the default settings to factory state but doesn't delete any data at all.

The first one with "Find my phone" doesn't work anymore, plus i don't have a samsung account i use Google for everything.
The second one i don't want to open up my phone because im using it with US cellar on a 2-year contract, meaning if i totally break it (not just the screen like it is now), then i wont be able to trade it back in and get at least some of my money back.

HELP PLEASE! I'm locked out of my own device

Hello guys and gals!
When I bought my Galaxy S7, I set up fingerprints and all that good stuff. Having used fingerprints since day one, I forgot my backup pattern. Recently, I had to restart the phone, and after doing so, it's not allowing me to login using my fingerprints, saying that I need to draw my pattern first since the phone was restarted.
I'm currently logged out of my own phone.
Please help me!

I didn't want to do that because I'd lose my messages and my apps and what not (according to various sites). I did, however, visit the Samsung page and remotely unlocked it.
Tah-dah! I'm not locked out of my phone anymore haha.
Thanks a million for your feedback, though!

Locked out of phone... Is there a solution

Facts... I had a jealous girlfriend, and she was being snoopy one drunken night and i changed the pattern lock on my phone.... Now, im completely locked out of the phone, and i need to get into it without resetting it. Its not rooted and debugging is not enabled to my knowledge. Im kind of not completely familiar with some of the software processes though and was wondering if anyone could guide me?
