First, I'm NOT the developer of the app, I just want to share it. It uses the screen to show notifications when the phone is in standby. It is something like active screen feature from the new Motorola moto x.

Interesting app, thanks for the tip, just testing! Is partially use of AMOLED also on Razr i? That would reduce battery use - just like on the Moto X..

Of course, it only powers up the needed pixel on AMOLED screens.
Gesendet von meinem XT890 mit Tapatalk 4
Black pixels don't use energy but still they needs to be lightened up - so a whole screen is lightened up(Moto X can light up only part of a screen).
Without proper hardware (low power cpu connected to sensors) imho all those programs are poorly working imitations. Overall experience will be far from original Motor X - there's devil in small details and all those features must work together to "work as they should".

No, you're wrong. AMOLED screens doesn't need backlight like e.g. LCDs. The pixels illuminate itselfs, so when the AMOLED display shows black then are this parts simply not in use (off).
Because of the AMOLED screen, the brightness/dimmer settings of KNOCK² doesn't do anything.
You can easily test that, what I've said. Take your phone with KNOCK² installed an running in background. Turn screen off and cover the part of the screen which shows the notification and simply send yourself a SMS or email or whatever to get a notification. You won't see that the black part of the screen get lightened up. If you try this on non-AMOLED devices, you will see it.

Well.. Actually the black color is much better on amoled but i do see that's not perfect black. I don't know about battery usage though.

Try ActiveNotifications; works great on the Razr i!

You have to enable the service for the apps in KNOCK² settings.

Thanks for your answer, but I have enabled a lot of them (Clock, SMS and some other) but still then I lock the screen (turn off display). Nothing appears. Maybe it is because I have Omar's ROM installed ?!
You also have to activate the Android stock lockscreen

Hi,
I use Dynamic Notifications, and I really like it! But there are two issues.
The "Breathing Notifications" are not working on my Razr I, it just does not show the Notification Again.
When Dynamic Notifications is enabled, the Notification LED is not working anymore. But I would like to keep the LED in addition. Is there any way to do this?
Another thing I am struggeling with: I would like to use the "Auto Wake" but this feature does not only show the notification when I take the phone out of my pocket, but also wenn I put it back it! In that way, I cannot use this feature because I don't want my pocket to control the phone Any thoughts about that?
Thanks!

Well for one it is a nice interface. But some comments. I can't seem to find hardware key options. There isn't a vibrate intensity. When you have no notification, tiles automatically come down and theres no setting to change it. Its a good ROM I will report on the battery life I'm getting tomorrow

IPS technology displays will never support this. IPS always using backlight that is draining battety a lot. AMOLED technology isnt use backlight so they can show few pixels and it is not draining battery that dramatically.

is that even legit? Hahaha afaik, only amoled can do this type of work efficiently because only the individual pixels that is used in that notification font is using power and each pixels act as an individual LED, while the other remain in "off" state. Other display tech implement a row/column of light from the lcd periphery to shine throughout the whole display. Requiring more power and shining through all those unused black pixels making it less efficient.

confused as to why you are focusing so much on battery efficiency. the question was if we had it. We have that. Either in app form with Dynamic Notification, or baked into a ROM with Beanstalk.

Just so that the OP would be clear of the drawback if the feature were baked into a rom or app. I never try it honestly, but if it does it, wonder will it ever come close to battery life like on moto x which the display tech support natively.

I haven't had any noticeable battery decrease while using Dynamic Notification.
I think about it more like this. If you have one blinking notification light, you have to turn the screen on to check it. that means your screen has to turn on the back light + light up all the pixels with color depending on the wallpaper. with Dynamic Notification. I only see a small number pixels and a black background for maybe 3 seconds before I dismiss the notification. Read it. done with it. that saves both time and battery life. I haven't done any real comparisons between turning on the screen to see messages or using this app, but I can still get 2-3 days of use out of the phone with it, so I'd say get it.

It's kind of disappointing because no one bothered to port these frameworks. Sense 4's multitasking interface has been ported to the Nexus S, Galaxy S and other devices before by editing xml's, but apparently these are too device/rom specific so people probably think it's not worth the hassle.
This is so much more efficient than Google's implementation, I haven't tried it but Slims task switcher seems pretty nice.

That's how it looks. Main change to aosp is that it is bug free, way way faster + you can pin favorite apps. But basically if you use it for a week you will see that you silently change your workflow on the phone. If it is optical for everyone nice....well to each his own...it follows googles new ui card style and transparent status and navbar etc.
And yes developed by SlimROMs and available in the weeklies and on coming Monday as well on stable release 4.0 of slimkat

Stock auto brightness can be too dim/bright at times. This allows you to tweak the auto brightness to your liking.

You can customize what brightness levels your screen automatically sets for a given ambient light level (for example by default my screen is too bright at night or too dim during the day). But there are a lot more features than that there's a "Night Mode" which will adjust your screen color temperature to a warmer color temp at night (studies have shown exposure to blue light at night can mess with your circadian rhythm and ruin your sleep. There's also an "Astronomer mode" that puts a red overlay on your screen to preserve your night vision.

It also allows you to go lower than the lowest stock brightness (might require root?). I've found on many phones that the lowest brightness is still way too bright for certain environments.
Here are my current settings, it's going to take a while before I have then perfected but this is a start.

Its pretty broken.. Quickcircle becomes 100% useless and when you open the case it takes a second or two for brightness to adapt. its annoying and unnecessary. Not worth having the app if you have the case.

The broke part is not the time to live again, it is the simple fact that the clock or whatever widget is in the circle is black. To be specific the circle information needs to be on/displayed when the case is closed. I have had paid Lux across 3 phones and love it. Smart Window on Oppo works fine with Lux. Hope it can be fixed on G3.

I now have the case and see the issue, a workaround is to quickly open the case and close it again brightening it up.
I cannot see how it can be fixed though, the issue is the light sensor is being covered so it's keeping the display dark.
I suppose via a special setting we could set a default value for 0 lux?
Edit: I just emailed the Dev to see if there is anything he can do to help us.

When using the Nexus line of devices, the triangle "back" button will turn on it's side to point down when you open up the keyboard...like this:
When it's pointing down, and you press it, it shrinks the keyboard and then animation turns it to point to the left again....like this:
Yet on our LG v10, there is no triangle "back" key animation....it always just stays pointed to the left.
Soooooooooooooo...my question is, can this be modded into it? I'd kind of like it...

First of all, really?!
Just a question as to why anyone would want it because I'm curious.
Second, I'm here because I'm a little more advanced than an "old person". To that end say, if you want a pure Google OS experience buy the Nexus. Obviously LG thought that it wasn't necessary and took that feature out from their UI.

Second, I'm here because I'm a little more advanced than an "old person". To that end say, if you want a pure Google OS experience buy the Nexus. Obviously LG thought that it wasn't necessary and took that feature out from their UI.

you had already asked your question......when I answered that, it wasn't a good enough answer for you. so yes, really...you sounded curmudgeonly.

Except LG didn't include the flashlight in Lollipop. All the manufacturers change it with their UI. Maybe they'll put it in in an update. I was just trying to make the point the the button serves its purpose whether it rotates or not.
What we should really be concerned with is using the FPR with a case.

FPR works with my case and I also think the minimize arrow is a nice addition... ?. Anyway this thread is about soft keys not fpr so let's worry about soft keys here....
I would like to get some chrome colored soft keys with that little arrow animation...
