Now I am currently running on Leak 2 with Bootstrap, but I want to FXZ Leak 3 and then install BMM so I can also install Mokee. Is there any risk of bricking my device if I install BMM after Bootstrap even if i FXZ inbetween ?

I've looked all over this forum and I hope that I can get a definitive answer here. I don't feel like my use case is that unique but I'm going to be as specific as possible and hopefully get as concise and complete an answer as possible.
Until recently, I was running a custom GB-based ROM. When I was running GB, I used the Atrix 2 Bootstrapper and RAZR-CWM-Recovery-on-boot-J.Y.Daddy (or whatever it's called) to get CWM Recovery on boot and make backups and so on.
I ran the return to stock script from my GB ROM and am now running the stock ICS ROM that I got from the official OTA upgrade from AT&T. I've obviously rooted it.
I want to make a backup of my current stock rooted ROM with CWM Recovery. To my knowledge, the old bootstrapper method does not work on the official ICS OTA upgrade. I don't want to multi-boot with BMM, I just want a custom recovery so I can run CWM Recovery to backup/restore/possibly flash a new ROM.
I know that most of the new ROMs include their own custom backup, but that leaves me with no way to get back to the new stock ICS ROM (to my knowledge, I may be wrong).
If the simple solution is not possible and the only solution is to install Numa or Paranoid or the unofficial CM ROM, that's fine, I'd just like to know.
Thanks in advance.
My advice would be to just use BMM from the play store, edit the recovery.fstab as shown in that thread.. And make a backup with that.. Use tar format I think (if there's a choice - sorry I have not made a backup on this phone in a while).
That should be good to restore with other recoveries.. Plus you can uninstall BMM and don't need to multi-boot..
But, wait, I thought the old a2 bootstrapper worked fine on ics...?

I actually haven't tried it yet, that's just the general "feeling" I got from what I had read thus far. I was up super late last night fixing three or four soft bricks before I got my phone to a working state again and now I'm taking the cautious route. The bootstrapper doesn't count as a custom recovery, though, for the purposes of creating a backup with CWM Recovery, right? As in I'll still need to find a custom recovery to run a backup.
That is, of course, assuming I don't just use BMM to take my backup now. I suppose I had planned to go with a custom ROM eventually anyway, probably Numa, or maybe the CM ROM (if it gets a little more stable here pretty quickly, I suppose).
I'm pretty pleased with the stock ICS ROM over my old custom GB ROM (SCv6), which is why I'm now circumspect about trying out a new custom ROM without having a way to easily get back to where I am now (because I lost my backups the first time, like an idiot).
Thanks for the reply.

why not multi boot using BMM? checkout Numa, it has all the stock ICS goodness but debloated and much faster. see for urself
i'm using it and its much better than ICS stock

Well apart from bootstrapper and BMM we don't have any other custom recovery for Atrix 2.

Yup as altered said. But from my understanding you don't want to multi-boot right? Then you don't need to edit recovery.fstb.Just install it from play store install the hijacks and make a backup(in tar format preferably you'll find the option in there)

I really don't see logically why would you be so hell bent to avoid BMM.

You can do two things:
1.Install BMM make a backup of your current system.Install the custom ROM you want.Restore whenever you feel like.
2.Install BMM.Edit recovery.fstb(don't go after the name you just have to edit some text).Leave your current system on system 1.Install any ROM you like on system 3 and/or above. No need to restore.Switch between your choice of system whenever you wish.

I missed a step when installing the Numa ROM and may have (soft) bricked my phone. I did not wipe data/factory reset before I installed, and it said it was optimizing something like 157 application instead of however may it did when I did the ICS OTA upgrade (closer to 50 or 60?). Now it's stuck on "Android is upgrading... Starting applications."
I have a nandroid backup of my previous install, but no way to get into CWM Recovery from here (as far as I know). It's looking like I need an FXZ of the stock ICS ROM from AT&T to reflash.
Am I screwed?

You're not screwed. Which custom recovery did you use? If you used Boot Menu Manager you should be able to get into recovery, wipe and reinstall. If you used the Atrix 2 Bootstrap, you'll just have to flash the appropriate FXZ and start over. Be sure to follow the instructions in the op in the numa thread and you'll be just fine.

Speaking of which... Do you happen to have a link to the Motorola firmware page, or the forum post that explains flashing to noobs? The firmware page is a gray page with a list of links for all their firmware. I'm sure you know what the noob flashing page looks like

Awesome, thanks. These don't link to the exact page I was looking for, but they'll work
When installed my 1st ROM, I used bootstrap. Root--> Installed bootstrap--> Bootstrap Recovery--> Wipe data--> Wipe Cache+Dalvik--> Flashed ROM (NUMA 3.0). But now, after 2 months, when I tried to boot into Bootstrap Recovery I booted into normal Recovery not Bootstrap.
I am asking this because i want to remove Bootstrap in order to install BMM for a BMM only ROM. I read in a thread about the Logwrapper.bin problem and other stuff.
So now, 1) Why dont boot in Boot strap recover when I select Recovery?
2) How do I work my way through the Logwrapper.bin problem and install BMM properly?
I read the whole Bootstrap thread by notri and the BMM thread by Ravi, but I am still confused.

Well if you didn't reinstall bootstrapper after flashing Numa then go ahead and install BMM directly.Flashing Numa removes recoveries. So if you didn't reinstall get BMM directly

Oh, thanks.
So "flashing Numa removes recoveries", OR flashing any rom removes recoveries?
Whats the point of the Logwrapper.bin stuff if the bootstrap is going to get removed after a flash?

CM based ROMs have their own recoveries. NUMA is stock based so as long as you haven't installed a recovery after flashing it, then you should be good to go.

Exactly. As 1badwolf said.Numa doesn't have a recovery included but all CM based ROMs do have it.
Moreover lagwrapper stuff also applies if you've reinstalled bootstrapper after flashing and then need to switch to bmm

Hello
Can I use the goomanager
for flash the june 28 mokee rom
i have already june 18 mokee rom or I flash with the BMM
Guys i was on Liquid smooth rom v2.5 before (used it with BMM on JB leak 1 china). I used atrix2bootstrapper to flash razr M boot image and got bootloop. I fxzd back and then reverted back to leak 1, rooted again and installed leak 3.. Now i'm on Leak 3 rooted. The question is i have not installed atrix2bootstrapper this time. Do i need to make any change to the logwrapper file? or shall i directly install BMM and start flashing rom (MIUI to be precise). Will it any way affect the logwrapper file or will it create another logwrapper.bin file after installing BMM. Hope reply will be soon :fingers-crossed:
fxz = fresh system..
Edit: oh wait.. how do u txz leak one then go to leak 3?

If you haven't installed atrix2bootstrapper then, no, you don't have to edit the logwrapper file. Yes, you can just install bmm and start flashing.

I used the fastboot file(non-AT&T) leak 1. Before this i did go into AP fastboot, then recovery and formatted the system completely. Then fxzd it. Something strange did happen. The RSD lite said "status FAIL!". Then as soon as i removed the USB cable it booted automatically. Strangely enough it did boot into Leak1 JB after a whole 5minutes!. Regret using A2bootstrapper with BMM.
I didnt get the answer to my problem. Should i change the logwrapper extension or not?... Thank You

Thanks bro. Anyway whats with the bug saying miui ui (not supporting qHD) dislocation problem. If the problem is big, i better use liquid smooth or mokee. Which is the rom maximum no. of A2 users running?

If you've flashed back to ICS via FXZ, then flash JB leak 1, then rooted and installed BMM then I don't think you'll need to do anything with the logwrapper. That procedure should only be necessary if you installed a2bootstrapper after flashing the FXZ. So, I guess the short answer is, no.

I don't know much about MIUI. I have installed it a few times on various devices but didn't keep it long as I prefer AOSP based ROMs. So hopefully someone that knows about MIUI will answer that for you.

No problems with miui except that there is no miui camera and also there is screen rotation problem.
Hello all,
I need some help with this old Atrix 2. It's been sitting in a drawer for a while, and I haven't touched it for like a year at least. Apparently back then I had dual-booted stock and another ROM using BMM (Bootmenu Manager). Well now I need to use it and I thought the best thing to do would be fastboot flash the stock ROM, so I did that from the bootloader and it didn't change anything. So I went into BMM and deleted the second ROM (in slot 3), then did a factory reset on the stock ROM through fastboot.
Now I can't get any slots to work besides stock, and the stock ROM has zero bytes available for user data. meaning I can't install the BMM app to remove BMM.
When trying to use another slot, I can create the virtual partitions, but after a reboot it can't find them anymore...
From recovery I can't even mount /data. I'm not sure how to fix this.
You should flash the stock ROM using RSD.
Maybe you will need some resources and basic guide here
