[Q] [PLEASE HELP] iPod Alternative??!!?? - General Questions and Answers

Alright so I recently sold my iPod Touch 5g in search of a new media player that can also run on Wi-Fi and has a bigger screen. I also was tired of iOS so Android was my next option.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 which looked like a bargain at first but lags like hell and has terrible pixel density. The icons look disgusting...
Could someone recommend me a phone that could be used without a contract, as just a media player? The Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, & Nexus 4 are some of my choices but I'd like more opinions. I want a sleek looking device. Which would you recommend?
A million thanks to anyone who helps me out.

[Q] [urgent] Best Android phone in market?

Hi guys,
This is Rishab Harjai from India and this is my first post/thread in this forum
First of all, I am really sorry for creating a topic like this ; but I am really very confused!!
I am planning to buy a new cell phone for a price range of less than 650$ [ Rs. 30000 INR ].
Basically, I want an Android phone.
I am looking for a cell-phone on which :-
1] Sound output is great
2] I can play some nice games, [I had a corby pro b5310 and I am tired of java games :X]
3] I can have some really nice apps, [sure android has it! ]
4] I can watch movies,
I personally liked Samsung Galaxy S, but I want to know if there are some better options!!
Sound Ouput, Games, and Movies sound like Galaxy S to me.

[Q] Galaxy S media experience on Nexus S?

Hi all,
Considering buying either the Galaxy or Nexus soon.
Is there anyway of getting the Galaxy S media bits and bobs, enabling DivX playback, and music player etc, ported to the Nexus S?
That'd be a real win for me!
This hasn't happened yet, give it more time. The phone just came out, so a lot of devs do not have it yet. Not only is this a new phone, but the OS is new two. Neither have been out a week yet.
Any changes?
if we can play all the medias codecs from hardware like the SGS
then i will have no need to upgrade to another phone

[Q] Nexus s vs Galaxy S+

Hello.
I'm about to buy a new smartphone (im running Galaxy Spica right now), and I dont know what to buy..
I have a choice to buy Nexus S or Galaxy S + and I dont know which one is better for me. I am a student of computer science, and certainly I will be able to write software for Android. But I would like to record 720p videos..
Also, I found that on Nexus ICS have many problems right now..
Is there any chance for ICS on Galaxy S+?
Or maybe I should buy something else? My phone should be fast, have big screen (cuz I need to read pdf on this) also games should works fine.
I have about 250 euros.
Thanks for help

[Q]Galaxy Tab 2 or Nexus 4?

Guys, i have a [probably] stupid question.
I know the two devices listed are a phone and a tablet but...
I dont have a lot of cash. I currently have a Motorola Defy running on CM10. Im asking myself should i buy a Tab 2 (which is now $179 on amazon.com) and keep the Defy (and have two devices) or sell the Defy and buy a LG Nexus 4 (having a single device). What do you guys recommend? My main uses are browsing the web, reading books and watching movies, occasional games, and occasional office documents editing. I want the portability of the Nexus 4 and keeping my device with me always but the larger screen of the Tab 2 has an advantage.
Thanks a lot!
Hi!
Once I decide to buy a tablet I had the same question.
It´s very easy to share the phone internet to tablet when out of your home or other place without wireless and once connected via bluetooth the tablet will give you a very nice confort for internet browsing, email, etc, besides book reading and other task such as games if it´s also the case.
It´s not good to answer a phone call with a tablet - wierd experience. And you will have to keep it with you, sometimes it´s size will be a problem. If you focus a less sized device you will lose the benefits of bigger screen, sometimes 7" seems to be small and sometimes big. Everything will depends upon your usage.
From my point of view you should keep with your Defy and buy the Tab 2, Wifi version. Nowadays I have also a Galaxy tab 2 7.0 + Motorola phone and they are very good friends one to each other. I am happy with my choice as with my phone I can do everything I would do a 3G version, ie (P3100).
Get the Nexus 4. It is fast, has stock Android, and you don't have to keep up with two devices.

Galaxy tab 2 have 7 inch screen so good for reading books, have full hd playback so good for movies, support most of hd games
So it must be great.
And on other hand if you want pure android experience, fast processor,2gb ram, early updates,a better camera, intense gaming go for nexus 4.
7" is a different experience than a 4". I find myself using the tablet (7.0) over my phone most of the time.
Thanks for all your answers... but i still cant make up my mind maybe ill wait for some time and save up for the nexus 4
Even I am stuck with the same problem. Though the tab 2 has a 7" screen its no HD display, that's what is stopping me from getting a tab 2.

Well Tab 2 7.0 is 179.99 shipped while Nexus 4 is 393 tax and shipping. I love my Galaxy Nexus and Tab 2 7. I think it's a good combo. Between the two will be how you spend your days. Near wifi most of the time? Get the tab. On the move a lot or need a powerful phone? Nexus 4. And then there's the price difference. Even though the Nexus is a bargain, price difference is big.

What is a good $200 tablet with custom rom options?

Hi all. Newish to Android, been using OPO (Blisspop) and Note 4 (T-mobile stock, can't figure out how to root it).
Would like to venture out into a tablet and was wondering what are some decent tablets with good custom rom options?
No gaming, probably light usage like surfing and video, apps like facebook, skype, and poshmark.
Is the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 recommended or are there options I'm not familiar with?
TIA!
Bump?
