WiFi worked no problem on stock 2.3.3, when i bought the phone. as soon as i put on cm7, my wifi never works. I can go into settings and turn it on, but it never prompts me to select an available network, and then automatically shuts off after about 30 seconds or so. I have continually update to the latest nightly, and wiped cache, yet it still has not fixed itself. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue.

Try the RC and see if u get it working
If not, backup, wipe data + cache and do a fresh install of the latest nightly and seevif it works then

I have created a flashable zip based on galandy's Qualcomm Vision GPS Driver v1.1 that will survive a cm9 upgrade. It works the same exact way gapps does. Simply flash this once and every time you flash a new cm9 rom the gps driver will be backed up and then restored after flashing.
The actually GPS fix is not mine and all thanks goes to galandy.

Shouldn't be necessary but doesn't hurt either.
Changing my battery cover to the original made my GPS work.

I'm having quite a bit of trouble getting accurate reads on my gps. Does this need to be re-flashed after each nightly? My gps works.. but it tracks about 10 yards off of where I actually am, and cuts corners. Kind of a drag when you're using the running apps to track your distance.

After the last two nightlies I'm having GPS problems as well. I know you have been having issues for awhile now but after a clean install of jmz's latest GPS is completely inaccurate. The old fix makes it worse and this one doesn't seem to be working either. Very strange.

Hello all I hope you can help me with this...
I'm having the strangest issue with my P6200L... Everything was working fine a couple of days ago... I was using latest CM9 by aorth here, browsing the web and everything when suddenly.... Wifi disconnected and never reconnected again...
The symptoms are:
- displays all available networks in range
- if I force to connect, all networks disappear and saved connections are "not in range"
- if I turn off/on again it displays all networks in range again, saved ones are "disabled", if I force connect it repeats the cycle.
I tried factory reset dozens of times. Didn't work.
I tried flashing CM9 again (with this and another patch I found on the thread (forgot where it is)) dozens of times. Didn't work.
I tried flashing official ICS (Open Austria) dozens of time. Didn't work.
Needless to say, I did data wipe/factory reset/format cache/clear dalvik twice between each flash.
And then I flashed stock Honeycomb. It worked. Wifi connected! All was fine!
Marvelous! Or so it seemed...
Now that I got it working again, I want to upgrade to ICS, so I flashed ICS Open Austria. Wifi stopped working.
"Ohh well", I thought, "let's try everything again"
Flashed stock Honeycomb again. Working.
Flashed CM9 + patch. Stopped working.
Flashed ICS Open Austria. Still not working.
Flashed stock Honeycomb yet again. Working.
Flashed ICS Open Austria. Not working.
Flashed stock Honeycomb. Working.
My conclusion: Wifi works only on stock 3.2.
Why? I have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
I've tried every possible combination of flashing and wiping data (except from stock ICS recovery, as I have one of those bad chips and I'm afraid of the brick bug)
Is there anything else left to try? Maybe copying some system files over from stock Honeycomb to an ICS firmware?
I'm really getting desperate here and I've run out of options. I'm hoping the community here on XDA helps me solve this mystery.
It is similiar to this bug here, but although the user there fixed it by several wipes/flashes, apparently I'm not having the same luck.

Really? On every ICS firmware? But why was it working the first time I flashed ICS, but not anymore?
Sorry for all these questions, it's just that I'm completely dazzled by this issue, hahaha :silly:

Hahahaha I'm 100% sure this is NOT the issue here
Wifi networks keep dissapearing when I try to connect. I have tried in 3 different routers with different encryption settings, so I'm sure this is not on my end.
Could be that you flash and incorrect firmware, maybe for the p6210 tab?
Sorry, I'm just guessing , I don't know what could be the problem.

No problem about that, we're all guessing
But no, I'm sure it's for the P6200 because it worked the first time I flashed. If it was for the P6210 my tab wouldn't even boot, partition layout is different...
I'm having this kind of issue aswell. Wifi is doin' fine with HC 'til flashed it to ICS. Damn, I really hope someone could help us regards with this issue. I also tried Wifi fixer, it helps but not that enough. 'Cause it connects me to my wifi but after a minute or two. It'll disconnect and reconnect. This is happening again and again. And it's kinda annoying when watching video on youtube or surfing the net. Well, just sharing my issue.
Yeah, I know how it's like... I reverted back to ICS while there isn't a fix... It's weird because it also happens on official ICS from Samsung, which it shouldn't
guys, I had the identical problem with wifi on ics. I returned to the hc and wifi worked. Then again the ics and did not work. Wipe cache, Dalvik, data, everything I tried several times and no results . Then I installed wifi fixer and it was a little better, over *# 94 349 # tablet began work with the occasional stop. a couple of times I rebooted it. and after one reboot started to work normally. I know that I m not helped, but it is my experience.

Are you talking about this app? I've tried that, but the only thing it did was to keep disabling/enabling the wifi... Several reboots later, same results... I'm glad it worked for you, but so far I'm not in luck

OK, I got some progress.... But it's still bad, keeps disconnecting... Here's what I've done...
I flashed CM9 with wifi patch and tried the app above. Restarted, no luck. Still didn't work.
I removed my SIM card, restarted in CM9, and Wifi worked! If I put it back in, wifi stops working.
I tried changing country codes with the app above, lost 3G SIM card connectivity. No wifi and no 3G, I though I f***ed up everything.
ODINed back to stock Honeycomb. Got a "no SIM card" error. But wifi worked.
Restarted several times, tried changing country codes several times, still got the "no SIM card" error.
After several attempts by removing/inserting the SIM card and restarting I got it working, finally.
Tried flashing ICS Open Austria. Both Wifi and 3G works!!! However wifi keeps disconnecting every 40 seconds or so.
Tried Wifi Fixer from Market, but all it does is monitor when wifi disconnects and then resets it. It connects again, but 40 seconds later it disconnects again, thus repeating the cycle.
It's still not usable, but it is some progress. I'm afraid to factory reset in official ICS because of brick bug, but I'm willing to do some more steps if anyone got some more ideas
THANK YOU very much for your response petrenj! We're getting somewhere here! :good:

Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same problem as yours. I have 3 tabs and all of them exhibits the problem in ICS. Wifi seems a lot more stable in honeycomb. I already tried xxlpl and xxlpn with/without wifi fix from aorths cm9. I'm also experiencing force reboots when I disable and enable wifi for sometime.

How odd... It's weird that some people have this issue while others don't... Also, I'm beggining to wonder if this is something that aorth or other dev can fix, seeing as it affects several different devices with ICS, and not only our tab. I don't think it's a hardware problem, because wifi works in Honeycomb...
So far, if we want to use wifi in our tabs we must remove the SIM card or just stick with Honeycomb... I've stopped using my tab for a while due to the constant data wipes/flashes and dedicated it to try to fix this issue... I really don't want to restore all my apps twice a day while switching between ICS and HC versions
Are there any P6210 users reading this? If yes, are you able to use wifi in your tab? As the P6210 doesn't have a slot for a SIM card, this shouldn't affect you, right?
Anyway, let's wait for aorth to be back from his trip and introduce this thread to him. He should be able to clarify something to us.
Affects P6210 as well

Hi guys, i have a problem here, i followed this guide http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Glacier:_Full_Update_Guide everything went smooth
i had to dowgrade as the page says as it had already gingerbread, every step went smooth, then i booted and everything apparently fine, except when i turn on my wifi it autoshuts down after some seconds (the wifi not the phone).
tried 7.2 latest nightly and same thing.
please help
this is a tmobile unit
htc mytouch 4g (aka glacier right?)
note: backed up as directed but upon restore i just get an md5 error so no going back
currently this info is shoing:
android version 2.3.7
baseband 12.28b.60.14eU_26.03.02.26_M
kernel 2.6.35.14 cyanogenmod-g295e82f
mod version cyanogenmod 7.20120909-nightly-glacier
Same problem here. I'm also using a CM7 nightly.
Under Wifi Advanced settings, its showing MAC address as unavailable. So far I've tried a "wifi fixer" on the android market, and I opened up the phone to check the two cables for Wifi.
Try reflashing probably a bad download or u can flash a new Rom such has android revolution or insert coin I recommend these Rom because they gingerbread an are most stable for glacier an really smooth

Be sure you're doing a complete wipe before flashing a ROM. Check out 4EXT recovery, as it has an option for wiping all partitions.

Thanyou, i think I have done wipe, as instructed on link, I followed exactly, maybe is not the rom as I have tried at least 3 cm versions, and 2 non cyanm, I returned to stock (downgrade version, 2.2) and still no luck, but I havnt tried the one it had, stock, 2.3, I have reflashed many times, this is a used phone, that I am unlocking for a friend, and while I was on it he asked for a rom, he got this cheap, and was not using it because of carrier lock, but I actually never checked if wifi was working before flashing it, so probably its just broken and that is why he got it so cheap lol (like 40 bucks) wil trry ota 2.3 and the others you guys suggested, just to exhaust possibilities,, but not with much hope, ty both for taking the time to answer

in my case I can't go to advanced, as it is only available when wifi is on, and I'm not fast enough to setup a network before out turns off, I cheeked someone with same problem on tmobile forums, no root, no flash,.regular ota, support said that if just factoiry reset with no sd, and before installing anything then its phone problem and needs to be replaced,
Any idea how to fix this piece of wifi hardware, are there available spare wifi chips or something? (i obviously can't return to tmobile a is used , phone from a foreign country :$

So I feel as if I've been having poor GPS on any rom, whether it be AOKP, CM or even Stock based. I've tried a few apps to know luck. Using Waze yesterday, it was dropping in and out as I was going down a highway. Currently I'm using Eclipse rom on my phone. And I've tried flashing roms with TWRP and CWM with the same results.
The only thing I'm doing differently is running a 4.2 gapps made for 4.1.2 roms, could this be causing the issue?
Or should I just go root66 and redo everything?

I experience the same issue with AOKP, CM, and stock roms. I can get a GPS lock if my phone is on the dashboard of my car, but it goes in and out if the phone is sitting on my lap. This makes it very difficult to use the S3 for turn by turn navigation. I haven't had any problems while running Eclipse though.
Try this! Worked for me. Found this somewhere on XDA
1. Download "GPS Test" from the play store
2. Turn on your GPS and open the app
3. Press the menu button and go to settings
4. Press "Clear AGPS" at the top (your phone might reboot)
5. After that go back to settings and "Update AGPS"
Or this (also worked for me - from some XDA post):
"like some of you, i too was having GPS lock issues. here's what i did which fixed it for me. can't guarantee anything, but might be worth your try.
go to application manager - click on 'mapservicesamsung' - force stop - back out then click on 'maps' - force stop - clear cache - clear data - reboot into recovery - wipe dalvik and cache - reboot.
hope this works for some of you also. my GPS has been locking within 5 secs since doing this, and it hasn't been that good since before flashing my first S3 rom back in july! =) "
Wow! The second one worked. I'm on a cm based ROM so it didn't have a the Samsung app. But I cleared the data for maps and cleared the data/cache and it worked! I even lock on inside my house.
