Fasttech.com - looooong time for refund - Nexus 4 Accessories

I ordered a Qi wireless charger from Fasttech on the 19th April. It shipped a couple of days later and arrived fairly promptly considering the distance involved (Hong Kong to UK). When it arrived, I plugged it in to test it out. It worked a treat, apart from one thing; it beeped every time it started a charge cycle. Unfortunately, with wireless charging, that means that it beeped every 15 minutes or so as the charger tops up regularly. No way to leave it on the pad overnight or even when watching TV as it could be heard over it.
So, I contacted Fasttech and they agreed to refund. My 1st message to them was on the 4th May, the day after I received it IIRC. I've only just received the refund (!)

The charger beeps whenever it starts charging. This isn't a problem in itself, but when fully charged, the charger starts up again every 15 minutes or so and beeps again. It's loud enough to be annoying and so the device can't be left on the charger overnight.
It's a real shame as the product works well but there seems to be no way to disable the beep.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
It seems unlikely to me that your supplier will be able to fix this issue as it would appear to be hard-wired into the product. I would ask therefore to return for refund please.

I would prefer a refund please unless you can guarantee that the replacement item would be silent. Return postage to Hong Kong would be £12.60 via a Royal Mail service called "Airsure Small Packets". This features a 4-day delivery, tracking & compensation. It is also one of the cheapest options.

Which they assured me it was, suddenly the signature for delivery was found
But they had lost the postal orders,
I asked to speak to someone in authority and was put thru to Scott,
He then said he will sort the issue, and if the postal orders were not found he would send the goods as I had proof of delivery.

I spoke to ibby, who was unable to find me on the system at all,
I recalled and spoke to dean finally a polite and helpful person
He said sorry for all the treatment and assured me it would arrive on the 19th at the latest,
after a long call it was agreed that they would use someone else’s postal orders they had found to sort my order(seems they just have lost or misplaced stuff laying around eh) setting up a new order for the same goods with this refence number MF748648 and a follow up email to confirm

I had received no goods yet again; I called and spoke to Alan
Who then told me,
That you don’t have the goods in at all nor can you give me a date of stock arrival and that it was practice for staff to, inform customers that it will arrive shortly to avoid loosing the business by keeping a client in hope of a delivery.
Each time I have called mobile fun it’s been a 15-20 wait on the phone for an answer
Further more the staff doesn’t seem to have a clue how to process a postal order delivery,
At all times I was calm and very polite and offered any information that they needed,ypur company has given me the impression of total incompetence
And although the amount was a small fee, (thank god I wasn’t ordering my new .jasjar via your company, which iwas going to but not anymore),It was more the attitude and treatment I found bad,
I’ve never had to write before due to a customer service problem as im very laid back and realise things can happen
But after all this time and no goods & with such bad staff communication I feel ,if I was a manager and this is how things were run under my shift id be outraged, I would have offered an upgrade product in place for the time and hassle to keep customers happy and future business
However all I wish from your awful company is a full refund within
Next 7/14 days along with confirmation that the contract has been terminated.
My future pda and ipod needs will be meet with a capable company.
I will be shocked if I even get a reply.
If I don’t receive a refund within that time, I will be arriving in person it’s a small fee but that’s not the point, Also if I don’t receive a refund I will take legal action.
Bottom line is mobile fun cashed the postal orders and then left it as they were unable to supply the goods
A simple call or email on the 5th to say no stock available and offer a replacement product or refund that would have been fine.

12:55 2006-02-10, I called and spoke to Scott who put me on to manager, Alan Docherty.
His words were
“ive spoke to the accounts dept and they will 100% send out a refund on Monday (that being the 13th)and ill give you a ring then, if I don’t its cos im battered from the weekend,so just give me a call”
I suppose this kind of work ethic and attitude explains, why im getting such poor service.
In fact I think if I really pushed myself to give up and not bother in work, I may indeed be suitable for a position in your company. not sure about your working hours but very little seems to get done and the attitude is very laid back, but then again I actually like to take pride in my work and give a days work for a days wage.

I ordered an unlock code for a tricky mobile once (I had been assured by everyone that it was not unlockable - but mobilefun offered a soloution )
The sent me a code - which was absolute rubbish - it was simply the shortcode for checking if there was an SP lock present

It looks as if they are using drop shipping for the docks. They must wait until they get enough orders to get a volume discount from the supplier. Then the supplier ships them to the individual buyer. They don't even touch the docks, but handle the sale and make a profit.

I ordered mine dock on 1/3/11, order was processed and my card was charged on 1/5/11; got 2 emails to confirm that.
Since then, two + weeks later, their web site states: Order Processing(?)
No response to two of my emails, no one picks up their phone, goes to VM rightaway and no calls back from them.
Was anybody able to speak to a live person there or gotten a response to their emails?
I am sorry to hear about everyone's troubles with receiving the dock. It sucks when you pay for something and then having to wait for what seems like forever.
If you guys get tired of waiting for the one you've already paid for from this company, there are a couple of guys in the gTab forums that have ordered in bulk and are sitting on some right now. And, at least one of them ships the same day he gets the payment.

[Q] Ordering a Nexus 5 outside US using US Debit Card & Shipping to my Relative?

I've already succeeded ordering the Nexus 5 16gb, but cancelled it because it won't reach the time before my auntie comes back here in my country, so I ordered the 32gb instead.
a.) I'm originally from the US, on vacation outside the US
b.) Mom and Dad's Credit/Debit Card Visa Issued in America
c.) I assigned the shipping at my Auntie's house
d.) Auntie's going here in my country this 23th (My Birthday, Best Gift I could ever have..)
#1 First time I ordered
-Nexus 16gb, Est. Dec. 13 (then was moved to Dec. 20) cancelled that order. *Has not shipped yet prior to cancelling*
#2 This time
-Nexus 32gb, Est. Dec. 11 (hopefully doesn't get pushed back) waiting *Awaiting Shipment & Charge*
Now my question is:
-I've checked my Google Wallet Account and went into settings, and noticed that my Mom's Debit Card was presented with my Auntie's Name on a preview picture? Will this terminate my order by any means because of the card not belonging to the person's shipping address? To answer your Extra Sidekick Question,
The pending charge is just that. It will drop off automatically if the merchant does not notify the 3rd party payment processor that the order is confirmed. I cancelled a few orders in the last two years and have had this happen. So don't worry about it. It will disappear soon. Usually 3-6 days after order cacellation.

-I cancelled the Black 16GB and instead ordered the Nexus 5 32GB Black Variant instead, it's written in my Google Play Order Receipt *No Email Shipment Verification Yet :[* that the Order (Ordered it on Dec. 6) "Leaves warehouse at Dec. 11" <<< Does this statement mean that it will ship as stated Dec. 11? It's hard to say. When my N5 shipped, it shipped almost a week before the stated date. But just know that it is not Google who warehouses, packs, and ships the phone. It is a third-party subsidiary owned by UPS, called UPS Supply Chain Solutions (UPS-SCS). Google just handles the administrative part of it. Similar to what Amazon does. You may see alot of items "Sold by so and so but fufilled by Amazon." The so and so person owns the product but Amazon warehouses, packs, and ships those items for them.
Based on past experience and posts on this forum, noone can truly trust the estimated ship date. The Nexus 4 launch last year was way more evident. Myself and thousands of others were told it would be shipped and delivered in 3-5 days. Five weeks later I finally received it. I have read forum posts on here of people having their phones ship a week or more after the estimated ship date. It is hit or miss. And many people blame Google, not knowing the shipping logistics, but honestly it falls in the lap of UPS-SCS.
Regarding the question of the credit card address... If you had the billing address and shipping address separate in Google Checkout, then it "should" go through. Most banks just want the billing address and phone # to match. Again, with the N4 and the Nexus charging orb, i was able to successfully have them shipped as a gift to a girlfriend's address 40 miles away, but charged to the debit card assigned to my home address (my bank is Chase).
Honestly, IMO, if time were such a constraint like this, regardless of stated shipping dates, I would have opted for at least the 2 Day shipping for a few dollars more.
I am sorry I couldn't help more, but I hope some of this long post made sense LOL

Current Shipping Dates? Weirdness

After waffling between a 4a 5G and a 5 I finally pulled the trigger on a 5 during the Black Friday sale for $50 off. I had also hoped by waiting that Google would resolve the screen glue issue. Order date was Nov 30. Retiring my old 2 XL, but would have kept it for another year if updates kept coming.
My listed shipping dates have always been Dec 29-30. From time to time I've checked the store for current shipping dates, and the phone has actually been out of stock for a couple weeks, but they did have stock for Fi and Verizon with almost immediate shipping. I last checked yesterday.
Early this morning I received notice from my credit card company that Google finally charged my card. My shipping dates are still listed as Dec 29-30. I decided to check if the phone was back in stock, and if so, what current shipping dates are. Yup, back in stock, shipping dates for current orders listed as Dec 16-19. During the time it took to write this post, shipping dates changed and just now listed as Dec 23-25. Both these dates are obviously earlier than my listed shipping dates.
I suspect they just received a new batch from manufacturing and my phone is about to ship, but the changing dates are a bit weird and I've never experienced that before. I'm usually a first day, first minute orderer for my Pixels and I'm used to being in the first shipments.
Anyone else get charged overnight? Did your shipping dates get updated?
A few months ago I bought a 4a pre-order and I got stuck with a later shipment than many people. I was not too worried and it arrived when it was supposed to but I also didn't get the charge until it was ready to go like usual.
If it's coming FedEx ground they're probably calculating that in right now -- the real issue is once the label is made and sent to FedEx, if that's today, then by tomorrow you should know what the real ETA is
are they doing USPS? lots of people been getting delay on USPS shipment.
I did standard (free) shipping. Who knows? I'm waiting for Google Store support chat right now. I started at #169 in line. It's going down at a rate of about 1 per minute. Sheesh. Current shipping dates for new orders showing Dec 25-29. My order is still just showing "Ordered".
I had a similar issue but found out some great answers from a customer service rep. I also was quoted a late December delivery when I placed my order in late November. Mine shipped early because their new shipments for fi arrived early.
This is how it goes.... its crazy.
They will temporarily charge your card if you move up in the order "queue". They will then refund the money into your account a few days later after they verify the funds are available. This means the order is getting ready to get processed finally.
You will finally be charged the due amount when the order finally goes to the warehouse for shipping.
They wont permanently charge your account until the phone is sent to shipping. If they haven't refunded the money into your account I would bet that your phone ships very soon.
I was getting tired of the late shipping times and lack of answers so i created a reddit ticket. My phone shipped 24 hours later. Give that a try if things dont go well.

Over an hour later and I am #82 in line. Had to plug in the laptop!
Finally had a chat.....answer was basically, yeah you're right, newer orders are shipping before yours. We can cancel your $50 off order and you can re-order at full price for earlier shipping. Uh....no....I'll wait, and just stew about it. That's a pretty good summary of the chat. Not too happy.
So.....interesting developments this morning.

The link took me to Google Pay which showed nothing, but when I checked the Store, I did, in fact, have a $60 credit, which expires on 12/31/2021.
Not only that.....today I received notice that my order has shipped through Fedex, with an arrival date of 12/21/2020. It's shipping from Carol Stream, IL. In the past all my phones have shipped from about 20 miles away from me.
So I have gone from being very unhappy and questioning my loyalty to Google products to being very happy. I think I am going to use my credit for a Pixel Stand, but maybe a new Nest Audio, but I've got so many Google Homes (full size and minis) and Chromecast products that I really don't need anything but the Stand. I also suspect the Stand, which is WAY overpriced, will go on sale again relatively soon. So we'll see.
In any case, I wanted to be fair to Google. I'm very happy with the way they handled this.
Ordered from Google France on 15 Dec, shipped on 16, arrived today.
