[APP][4.1+] Battery Graph Stats (battery monitor + usage stats) - Android Apps and Games

Hi xda-developers,
i would like to let you know Battery Graph Stats, an app that i delveloped, and see if anyone can find it useful!
This app allows you to simply record hourly and daily usage, in battery percentage, of your battery phone, keeping track of your installed app and removed too. So if you realize that installing some app will cause more battery
usage you could decide to remove it! So you can be most efficient battery saver
Decide how many minutes would you like the application to register batteries plus usage and start service by tapping the play button.
Wait for some date to be collected and than access to the statistic you want!
Usage timelines graph allows you to keep track of your installed app and uninstalled.
By tapping a variation point you will see what you added or removed
in that specific moment!
Here are some apps screenshots:

Statistics about usage and consumption are displayed in several graphs:
☆ A daily usage hart
☆ A pastday chart where you can see how energy was consumed with a day total
☆ A lastday graph where usage are calculated hour per hour
☆ A mostactive pie chart which displays most battery percentage consumption applications
Customizable charts batteries plus widget:
☆ Keep your graphs on homescreen or lockscreen to have a quick overview of your stats
☆ Battery widget real time usage
Notifications:
☆ Notify me if hourly or daily consumption is over a certain limit
Multiple backups:
☆ For advanced users it will be useful managing with more than one backup
You can download BStats using attached apk or simply on Google Play Store!

Will try and let you know the details

Im trying it, the only thing that worries me is if there is a noticable battery drain from this app...

I can only use the "Most active apps' and 'Past days avg usage' without having the app FC. Not sure why it's doing this. Seemed good enough for XDA to put on the front page. Like to see this fixed so I have a decent battery tracking app.
I have tried with two different ROMs to see the same result.
Thanks for the effort and time.

Having the same issue here on a stock 4.3 Nexus 7 2013.
I only just downloaded it and started the service, so i was assuming it was crashing because it was trying to display the data and hadn't collected enough to show yet and did not have anything to handle that situation? That's just a total guess though.
Works perfectly other than that problem though, good work!

Hi Blackiedamus! I'm interested in supporting the most number of devices i can so can you please let me know wich device / rom / kernel do you use? And even better for me it will be if you open the app, tap backup stats and then send me at [email protected] the file "bstats.db" that you find in /bstats/ folder of your sdcard

Hi rikai thanks for reporting this problem! The app should not crash with no data it just tells you haven't. Maybe this problem is related to new 4.3! I didn't have the possibility to test my app on android 4.3 rather than sdk emulator! Can you please open the app, tap backup stats and then send me at [email protected] the file "bstats.db" that you find in /bstats/ folder of your sdcard? I would try to fix it as soon as possible!

I'm using an ATT S4, Graviton v 1.3 ROM, Kernel is [email protected] #1. I'll send you the backup stats in just a moment.

FC on XPERIA X10i v2.3 and XPERIA S v4.1.2
Most FC and there are a lot are on Last day hourly usage which can't be accessed at all.
An email contact in an about menu in Bstats may be a good idea and/or on the Google Play description.

Just manually clearin the app cache make it work again?
Is there any app on your devices wich automatically clears memory/cache of applications and bstats is in its list?

A new update will be released soon with some bug fixes that should resolve FC problems of some users!

The app has been working without a hitch over the last 48 hrs. Just thought I'd share

[App] PermissionDog

Hi just made an app with my friend ventrix.
PermissionDog lists all the applications you have installed and checks out what permissions each app is using.
Based on these permissions it sets how dangerous the application can be.
PermissionDog also supports realtime protection. Every time you launch an application
a notification pops up and shows how many permissions the app is using
and how dangerous that application is. (in case you missed reading the permissions when you downloaded the app).
You can exclude any app from Real Time Protection (RTP) or disable the RTP service.
It's like a really lightweight antivirus.
Please note that the application is in Beta stage. Is fully functional and hopefully bug free but needs some tweeks.
Serius updates will come to the next few days!

Looks interesting. Any plans to add the ability to disable/block permissions?
We are looking to make the app as good as it gets. If changing permissions to other apps is doable without rooted phone consider it done.
Gonna try it.

yeah always do it with all my apps ,kinda starting the good karma. Tell me what you think about the app
Great. I think I will give it a try.
UPDATE: Just installed....very nice! I like how you can sort apps by permission danger. Additionally, I like how clicking on a secific permission will list all apps utilizing that particular permission. Of all apps installed I have two with the red dannnger. I was glad the two were the only apps with that permission level but now am assured that no others have it..
This app makes it easy to do quick analysis.
Love the idea of this app as soon as I saw it pop-up on my XDA Twitter feed.
Installed on my HTC Thunderbolt with the latest ROM (no root) but it was hanging and giving me a Force Close/Wait. I do have a lot of apps installed so I thought this might be an issue.
Rebooted my Thunderbolt and it finally loaded okay. Selected Sort by danger and getting another Force Close/Wait. Selected Wait and it finally sorted.
I really like the app and look forward to some tweaks that might resolve some of the delays for us "app hounds".
Thank you for the post. We are aware of that issue and working on it. The problem is fetching application icons is too expensive some times. We working on making the "fetching" async. Plz wait for an update in the next few days
Awesome! I'll keep watching and will continue to provide feedback.
As a suggestion, is it possible/practical to add the standard rotating "clock" so a user will know it is working in the background?
Can't thank you guys enough for this app. Hope you also eventually have a "paid" version so those of us who want to support you and remove the ads can do so.
I agree with BiteMaster
I get a FC everytime I try to uninstall an app from PermissionDog. I have sent the "Report" three times, idk if it helps...
I have a Motorola Defy with CyanogenMod 7.
You get fc instantly when you hit the button? Cause all it does is forward you to the system uninstall app

Indeed, instant FC when hitting an uninstall button. The market link works and I can uninstall from there, so we have a workaround atm . (SGS with CM7)

It seems like cyanogen mod has problems with the "com.android.settings/com.android.settings.InstalledAppDetails" activity.
android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: Unable to find explicit activity class {com.android.settings/com.android.settings.InstalledAppDetails}; have you declared this activity in your AndroidManifest.xml?

So, now we check if the uninstall activity exists and if not, we open the Android Market to uninstall it from there.

The latest CyanogenMod lets you do just that.
http://androinica.com/2011/05/cyanogenmod-nightlies-secures-android/
Works on stock Dell Streak 2.2.2
Very simplified method of seeing what has what access.
I wonder about how you calculate the "Danger" level, because i have an app installed that is using only one permission (external_storage) and is rated 4.1. On the other side i have an app that is using four permissions (internet, external_storage, get_accounts, network_state) and that results in rating of 3.5?! I guess lower rating means less risk in using that app?
I would expect an app that uses more permissions to have a higher rating than an app with less permissions.
Btw, i could only start the app once, any further attempt to start it results in a fc (you got a report).

[APP] DrainGuard - Monitor your drain in standby!

We want to introduce our 2nd App - DrainGuard.
German Version
Some may know the Tasker script which I have written for the DesireHD; this was the basic idea to be converted into an independent app. Of course with much more setting possibilities which would not have been possible with Tasker.
What DrainGuard is able to do?
One of the main worries with smartphones is the battery consumption. The fact that a smartphone uses battery if you work with it is quite clear. Therefore this consumption is to neglect - the more it is used, the more it uses and the shorter reaches the battery.
The main saving possibilities are therefore in standby.
DrainGuard should help you to watch the consumption in standby. Standby? The time between a ScreenOff and a ScreenOn. DrainGuard informs the user when turning the display on about the battery consumption. This is quite exact configurable, a 2-stage log file is provided if requested, when a too high drain occurs in standby the user is notified, some values can be displayed via minimalisticText widget.
The intelligence of DrainGuard - the special in it:
It would be easy to indicate "only" the difference between ScreenOff and On and would also be not very expressively.
A small example:
Take an average drain in standby of 1% / h.
if you dont use the phone for 5 hours -> 5% of battery consumption
If you use it now for 1h you get ex. +/-15% drain, in the next 1 hour of standby it DOES NOT use ONLY 1% as before, but approx. +/-3-4%. The battery needs apparently "to calm down" for some time again. Thats the 1st point of Drainguard. This "calming down" can be skipped.
Another problem of measurement are the short ScreenOn's. ex. "what's the time?" “have I missed a phone call / SMS?” or a short telephone call etc....
These short breaks would interrupt the measurement which would not be necessary. The 2nd point of DrainGuard: these short ScreenOn's can also be skipped.
The result of the measurements will be shown via notifications or via toasts (the small popups in android) when the screen is turned back on.

Edit2:
How to get a minimalistic Text widget work with DrainGuard?
1.) Please download ZIP from attachment section.
2.) Then put the files in the ZIP to your SDCard into the folder "MinimalisticTextPreferences"
3.) Create a minimalisticText Widget on your screen. 3x1
4.) The settings will be opened, scroll down, press Restore(?) - its called "Wiederherstellen" in german
5.) Select a preference ending with "-calc"
6.) Repeat steps for all files in ZIP, so it will look like my screenshot.
Thats it. The widget should be updated after at least a minute.

Purchased.
Seemed to work for me. It might be in my head but I've been using this and Juice Defender ultimate and it seems to be making my battery last a million times longer. By that I mean going from about 8hrs to around 16 - 20 hours by cutting out draining apps

Have you ever wondered what apps you have installed and don't even use? Or just curious which applications you use the most on your device? Say hello to Aptrax!
Aptrax runs in the background and monitors what apps you use and how long you use them for. You can also check how many times you have opened each app. Through its holo themed interface you can then uninstall the apps which you do not use. Aptrax is very light on memory usage and has no battery drain, even when set to high frequency tracking.
Features
★ Track how long you use each of your apps
★ See the number of times you launched each app
★ Easily uninstall unused apps
★ No battery drain (even on high frequency tracking)
★ Very low memory usage
★ Holo themed interface
★ Starts automatically when you turn on your device
★ Completely free, no adverts or in-app purchases
Feedback is very appreciated
Thanks, now i can check how much time i killing on social networks

Yeah Facebook Chat Heads cannot be tracked by Aptrax. This is because Aptrax is only able to track foreground apps, while Facebook Chat Heads is more of an overlay over another foreground app.
Regarding Chome and Now, they are not being tracked because they are System apps, and at the moment I'm only tracking User apps. Will be fixing this issue in v1.2 though, you can expect it very soon.

how about including an option to warn saying 'you are using this app too much' on user specified usage count?
@Mendrake thanks for a great app.
Actually I've been looking for something like this. I just have one feature request.
It would be awesome if you could backup a list of installed apps and maybe save it in the cloud or email it. This could come in handy when flashing new roms or changing devices.
Thanks
pemell
Good and useful app, but in my opinion there are too many wakelocks that prevent deep sleep: about 1 every 10 seconds with low tracking frequency.
Could it be possible to improve it?

Hey stiven, glad to see you like the app. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a device can only go into deep sleep when the screen is turned off right? If that is the case, Aptrax does not prevent deep sleep, because its service gets stopped on screen off, and starts again when the screen is turned back on.
When testing the application I made sure that it never caused any form of wake locks on the several devices I tested it on, and monitored it through Wakelock Detector. It never showed any sign of wake locks or battery drain.

That's a very good idea @pemell and should be fairly easy to implement it. Thanks for suggesting it!

That's one good way to let someone know they are wasting too much of their time on apps!
Sounds like it would be a useful feature to have, I've taken note of it. Thanks for the suggestion @killoid

One of the most important tools on my device, is the good old Watchdog that, since the beginning of my SmartPhone era, have watched over my devices and alerted me whenever an app or a system process started to misbehave. But the dog is getting old, already am I finding myself having issues on newer ROM's and the project seams to have died a long time ago. So to save the future of process watching, I decided to create a new watch app, and at the same time trough in some more features. So with no further ado I present Guardian.
Guardian has been build to avoid false reporting. It will not alert you about a game that you are playing, or a music player that is playing music in the background or a video player that you are currently using to watch a movie. It will in most cases not alert you about a small temp. sync operation either. It will alert you whenever these processes keeps spending a lot of process time after they should have quit. Like after you left the game, turned off the music or closed your movie.
Also you can configure Guardian to handle rough processes for you in different circumstances. For an example if you are sleeping, you may possibly not notice any alerts from Guardian. In this case Guardian can force close the rough process automatically so that you can avoid waking up to a burning device or one with no power left.

Hi, I just found this app while having a look at your 'Xposed Additions' which is on sale atm.
I read the description and thought: Wow!
Watchdog was also a loyal fellow for a long time on my devices, but it seems that it died in the past...
Your app seems to be very promising and as far as I can rate it now, it's doing what it's supposed to do
I'll give more feedback after some days of testing - but I really needed to say thank you for this!

I have had it running on my device for several month while developing it, and it has been working quite good. But the real testing is when it hit's multiple devices and users with mixed device use. So feedback would be great.
Is root required??

Not at all. There is a root option that can be enabled. That is used to kill processes that cannot be killed using regular Android tools. Other than that, nothing special is needed to use this, except for a device with Android of cause :s
I'm running your app for several days now. It's stable and doesn't drain the battery - that's good
The only alerts I get (daily) are from the 'Android System'.
A Whitelist feature for that would be great!

Yes battery drain was the most important thing on my mind when making this. No point in watching for rough apps if the watcher acts as a rough app itself.
Whitelist option is on my todo among other things. However maybe you should check this system alert problem? I have been running this app during development for the past 7 month and the only alerts that I got, was the one I triggered for testing purposes. If you don't think that anything is wrong, could you tell me what you are doing to trigger this? Because if this is a false alert, the service should be changed to handle it more correctly. The app should work in a way that makes whitelisting an unnecessary feature.
I can't reproduce it, I simply reflashed my rom, and the problem was gone.
It occurs before over night.
I recently got alerts for titanium backup.
Unexpectedly it made my phone stable
Is it weird that my xperia sola ****ty phone works well with guardian. No launcher redraws anymore and I can multitask now. Does it have memory optimization or something.? Also how can I enable root functions? Does it need exposed framework in root? The root functions etc is grayed out.

It does call some of the Android process tools. Maybe when doing this, it triggers a process sync which cleans up the list properly.
Root allows you to kill all processes, not just background and non-perceptible and also not just Android processes. It is unlocked in the payed version. Xposed Framework is not needed with this option, but it can be used ones I add Wakelock monitoring which will require Xposed.
Ah. Yeah it does make apps seems run faster etc. I tested this to ****ty phone and well it does work wonders. Ram management on xperia 2012 seems the culprit. I suggest installing this to 1gb ram phones and tablet to maximize the effects

In real this app sounds good. I have not installed this app. After installing, I would provide my response.
I was checking this app since last 1 week. Wi-Fi is working fine, BT is not that much needed (atleast for me). Bue, data is not turning off it seems. May be I am doing something wrong??
This is app is what im looking for! But, can you hide the data tab if the device doesn't support data? (For wifi devices).

That's actually a challenging stuff. Here the developers need to validate. But this validation with respect to what have to think... Good luck developers...

Hi Reachal,
As I understand your issue, your handset might have some issue, as it is properly working for my handset. Sometimes same app works fine for some handset and and not works for other one. So I think this may be your Cell issue.
I am really appreciated with this app. The UI is so super and functionality is too good. I can feel that Battery lifetime is increased by minimum 2 hours for my mobile because of this app. Thanks the developers who developed such a great app. Really appreciable.
Great idea.

This is really challenging. I will see to it what I can do. Dynamically removing Data tab will be difficult. However, if you wish, I can send you apk where only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tabs will be available. Mail me if you need such kind of modification.
