[APP][Update 2012/08/08] Money is time

Hi People,
I recently started writing apps for Android and I'm very curious what you think of my first app.
A little while ago I was eating a candy bar from the vending machine at work, and I was wondering how many minutes I actually had to work in order to be able to pay for that candy bar. At that moment, I came up with the idea to make an money to time converter.

Great idea! It would be cool if you could enter weekly or hourly wage information and if you could both swipe numbers to change them as well as tap on the selected numbers to enter them on a keypad.

At this moment I've received the following feature requests:

I'm really gonna work on the items listed above and hope to upload an upgrade sometimes soon.

Nice idea for an app
but have a bug. I run a screen density of between 180 and 200 and the app don't like this
screen shot was taken at 200 screen density.

Feature request:
It would be fun if you could set an amount, per hour/day/month/etc, whichever really, and start the timer. While the timer is ticking, you'd see the money wheel ticking live how much you make each second. And even if you exit the app and start it again a couple of hours later, the app remembers the time/date you exited it, reads the current time and adjusts the sum that you've made so far.

Thanks for finding this bug. It's very strange, because it looks like android can't decide what screen it is LDPI MDPI HDPI.
On which device and android version did you encounter this problem? My emulator with 200 DPI does show the app correctly.

It is difficult to find on the market because money and time are both normal words, but if you search on "money is time" between quotes you'll find it or just use the link in the first post or in my signature

Hmmzz, that's weird, maybe there was a hick-up on the android market. Is it still not working when you click on the link?
I just checked and everything here worked as it should.

Options for the timer function
I'm currently busy updating my app with most of the requests I've received.

Version 2.0
I've released version 2.0 today and added the following requests:
- Ability to fill-in weekly or hourly wage information.
- Ability to reset both money and time to zero with a button.
- Ability to set custom currencies. (I've added 20 currency signs)
- Ability to run the app on its own.
I've also added a landscape view so it can be viewed in portrait and landscape instead of portrait alone. Besides adding landscape view I've paid extra attention to the layout to support as much resolutions as possible.
I hope you like the new version! Comments, bugs requests are still more than welcome!!

Version 2.1
I've released version 2.1 and added the following requests:
- Ability to fill-in daily or weekly wage information.
- Timer mode where money and time is automatically decremented.
- Support of HD phones and tablets.
Besides releasing the free 2.1 version I've released a paid version which has;
- No advertisements
- Ability to set a notification sound / vibrate when the timer reaches 0.

Great news everybody TimeSwipe now supports tablets!
I created TimeSwipe as a simple way to use timers in a new intuitive way!
TimeSwipe is easy, fast and reliable. Now with support on all tablet sizes, at least 7" and 10"
Well what does it do and how does it do it?
You can use it as a countdown timer or as a stopwatch. You swipe the seekbars to set a time and press start, and now you have got your self a countdown timer. If you dont set a time by using the seekbars, it will start as a stopwatch. Simple? yeah I know.
The timers run in a foreground service and the timers is visible in the notification bar. If you would turn off your phone, or the app craches (god forbid). Then everything is stored and ready to proceed like nothing ever happend on your next launch.

- Get notifications in your status bar
- See current timers in your status bar

I would post in the new thread but it's not up yet. I've been using this app for a couple days and it works great, clean simple interface and easy to use. I love it. I would like it if in the notification bar the timers could be separated out and not say "two timers running". Also the ability to name them would be awesome. I'm always having to set multiple timers at work and this works great.

I cant post in that forum yet since havent been member that long. But I'm glad you like it and are using it daily
I have thought about showing two notifications when running but it cant be done unless I start up two foreground services, and that wouldn't be good for battery, if its even possible. I'm gonna try a workaround to this because I see the benefit of this feature.
I'm thinking of two renaming options:
1. The ability to set a name on a timer just like that.
2. The ability to save timers (with name) and get some history, though this solution would only work for count-down timers.

The new theme looks nice :good:. Is it possible to kill the alarm sound like a regular alarm? For example, you set the alarm time to go off for 30 seconds it'll keep ringing no matter what for 30 seconds, even after unlocking the phone and deleting the alarm. Sometimes the default 3 seconds isnt enough since it doesn't loop, and you're not in the room. Or if its in your pocket and it keeps ringing for a long time.

Yeah I know about your concerns and I have tried to figure out a good solution to this. Unfortunate you cant create a alertdialog like the built in alarm, since it has to be inside the app. (You dont want an alarm dialog to popup during a game) but maybe I could view a alertdialog when the user is in the app. Or add a stop alarm button.

New version
Hi all
I have updated TimeSwipe free with a few fixes.
I removed the guide when you run the app for the first time.
The alarm should work better now and you can cancel it if you set an alarm interval greater then 4 seconds. This is also better explained in settings now.
I also added the option to not view the current timer in the notification since this updates the notification every second it can start blinking when used with other apps. So its now possible to disable that feature.
I also did a big updated of the paid version.
You can now save and rename your timers, and its super easy to access them from the side menu so you can reuse the timers over and over again. The fixes in the free version also applies on the paid version.
Hope you like the updates, and please give me feedback.
Btw, do you guys think there should be the same functionality in the free version as in the paid, but with ads? What is a good practice here?

I just added tablet support which will work on 7" and 10" displays. I also fixed the layout for phones, or rather, people with big phones
I realy hope you will enjoy TimeSwipe on your tablet as much as on your phone.

[APP][Android 2.3+] Simplest Reminder

I forget things quite easily so I have been using my phone for years to help me remember about certain tasks I need to do. I tried few applications but did not fall in love with any. They are often too complex and require too many steps to create a reminder / note.
Therefore I decided to make my own. I learned the basics of Android development and spent 2 months developing "Simplest Reminder". I was working on and off and only during my free time which was just a few hours a day at most.

Hey Teadious. What country are you in, if I may ask. I can enable it. For now only US and Poland are enabled. The reason is that my app uses this time format: 12/25/2013 which is standard in the US but not other countries (not even in Poland but I enabled Poland because other tester is there )

Thank You all for the support. In just one day the number of installations went from 6 to 24! Awesome.

I spent few hours recently trying to find a very frustrating bug in my application that was causing reminders not to go off under certain circumstances.
I found a potential issue, fixed it and pushed updated version 1.2 to the Google Play yesterday.
I really hope that it will permanently fix it! However, if for any reason a reminder doesn't go off for you it would be very helpful if you could provide some details here or PM me (version 1.2 and up only).

EDIT: Just pushed version 1.3 to the market because there still was a bug. Third time a charm... Hope it is gone for good!

Today I pushed 2 updates to the market.
Version 1.4 is meant to put an end to the mysterious bug causing reminders not to go off (I am 100% confident I nailed it this time and it turns out it was not even a bug but rather a missing feature, lol - simply put, the alarms were not set after phone reboot [Android OS removes all alarms on phone reboot])
Version 1.5 introduces new option in the settings panel - now you can decide if screen should be turned on when reminder goes off.

A nice feature would be, if we can decide Yes/no Notification Sound per reminder.
So one is with notification sound as set up in settings, one without because of not beeing so important.

While this is a nice feature, I don't think I will be implementing anything that would add complexity or increase number of taps required to create a reminder. The main goal of my application is being the simplest to use out of all reminder applications in the market.
There are many great applications in the market that have all that complexity and extra features including colors, note priority, sound per reminder, vibration per reminder, repeatable reminders etc. The reason why I don't use those apps is because setting up a reminder takes a minute or so.
I realize that limiting the number of features in my app may turn some users away but at the same time I am confident that it will be appealing to users who expect mobile apps to be simple and intuitive to use.
With all that being said, I really appreciate your feedback and please keep it coming. I may actually build another application based on Simplest Reminder that would have whole bunch of additional features.

Will give it a try! Teamed up with NotifyMe or such, could be very useful indeed.

Nice app, but how hard would it be to add some sort of calender view when picking a date?
So instead of scrolling, you just tap the date/day.
Would that make the app more complex?

i would like to let you know Battery Graph Stats, an app that i delveloped, and see if anyone can find it useful!
This app allows you to simply record hourly and daily usage, in battery percentage, of your battery phone, keeping track of your installed app and removed too. So if you realize that installing some app will cause more battery
usage you could decide to remove it! So you can be most efficient battery saver
Decide how many minutes would you like the application to register batteries plus usage and start service by tapping the play button.
Wait for some date to be collected and than access to the statistic you want!
Usage timelines graph allows you to keep track of your installed app and uninstalled.
By tapping a variation point you will see what you added or removed
in that specific moment!

I can only use the "Most active apps' and 'Past days avg usage' without having the app FC. Not sure why it's doing this. Seemed good enough for XDA to put on the front page. Like to see this fixed so I have a decent battery tracking app.
I have tried with two different ROMs to see the same result.

Having the same issue here on a stock 4.3 Nexus 7 2013.
I only just downloaded it and started the service, so i was assuming it was crashing because it was trying to display the data and hadn't collected enough to show yet and did not have anything to handle that situation? That's just a total guess though.
Works perfectly other than that problem though, good work!

And even better for me it will be if you open the app, tap backup stats and then send me at [email protected] the file "bstats.db" that you find in /bstats/ folder of your sdcard

I didn't have the possibility to test my app on android 4.3 rather than sdk emulator! Can you please open the app, tap backup stats and then send me at [email protected] the file "bstats.db" that you find in /bstats/ folder of your sdcard? I would try to fix it as soon as possible!

I'm using an ATT S4, Graviton v 1.3 ROM, Kernel is [email protected] #1. I'll send you the backup stats in just a moment.

FC on XPERIA X10i v2.3 and XPERIA S v4.1.2
Most FC and there are a lot are on Last day hourly usage which can't be accessed at all.
An email contact in an about menu in Bstats may be a good idea and/or on the Google Play description.

I found a bug related to different timezone! I released au update (also updated attached apk). Please le me know if this fixes your problems!

Updated, power cycled, got the same error message.

XPERIA S v4.1.2 - Installed the latest version v2.1. Tapped on last hourly use and FC....
I might just excuse myself from the room at this point.

Hi guys i send you a PM with couple of intructions. Not sure if this will resolve but maybe i will be able to fix it with your help!

Been running all day, but then selected one of the options and it started force closing again. I'll try to give it a fix when I get home.

Just manually clearin the app cache make it work again?
Is there any app on your devices wich automatically clears memory/cache of applications and bstats is in its list?

A new update will be released soon with some bug fixes that should resolve FC problems of some users!

The app has been working without a hitch over the last 48 hrs. Just thought I'd share

Finally an app like this!!
But I keep getting FC when entering "My exams" after adding 2 exams . Plz fix this when time !
And I would like to have a backu/restore feature!

Since you wont be making any updates I think that you could add the option to add more profiles in the free edition??

Worth just like it's name.
by the way., maybe in future could you add something like a widget that show up our next schedule. To be more convenient so we don't have to open and close the apps. especially in hurry..

Thanks man! Really love this app!
And the FC in exams are now fixed!

The app is neat. My only request is to add a few more colours beyond the eight that Google Keep allows, whether it be simply adding a few more options or a full blown colour picker. I understand it will take you time, though, so just whenever you can do it would be great!
EDIT: Almost forgot - another missing feature it would be great if you could add is support for alternating (A/B) weeks. Thanks!

Well, as much as I love this app, I can't get rid of some random FC. By creating a new homework, the app FC while saving and every time I want to launch the app again it FC till I wipe its data and cache which means all my notes are gone..
However, my i9300 is powered by latest CM10.2 nightlies and it seems some more users are affected by the FC on CM10.2 or Android 4.3 in general. I know you're a student (like me) and we have not a lot of time. So I you want, I could create a logcat when the FC occurs. If it helps in any way.
Nevertheless, a big THANK YOU for this lovely and useful app.

amazing amazing ui!! Love the icon, the menu on the right. Follows google guide lines... amazing!

Loving this app so far! An option for symbols and colors and biweekly classes would be really nice (I think this is on your to do list?). Also, can't wait for Google Calendar integration. Great job!

You can just press the report button after the app force closes when saving homework/exam and I'll get a log on the developer console.

Can you set Macau available in Play Store?

This app is awesome... The only thing that It would miss, is a web service that would allow you to view your pending tasks and everything such as mystudentbook....
But the features and everything, is very good

I'd do so, but after receiving a FC I'm unable to launch the app till I wipe its data..

Accidentally pressing the back button will completely exit the app instead of taking you to the previous activity. That's kind of annoying. But good work on the app though.
