AES-256 Folder Encryption App - Security Discussion

Hello everybody!
I want to upload my WhatsApp Folder to dropbox.
I want to encrypt it for more security.
So I search an app which encrypts it and take the encrypted files into a folder which will be then synced with FolderSync.
Any solutions?
Greetzzzz...

Any updates? What alternative is there for encrypting folders without mounting the volume?

Have a look at Cryptonite.
kind regards
HB-1

Yes , try cryptonite, it is quite good. -->

With most app categories, there are far too many too choose from, and a number of great options. Unfortunately with these apps you'll probably have to try a number of them before finding one with sufficient features and usability.
I had problems with Cryptonite but YMMV. Others to check out include Encdroid / Encdroid Multi-Cloud and LUKS Manager.
Encdroid Multi-Cloud integrates directly with FTP, Windows Share (SAMBA), Dropbox, Box.net, SSH/SFTP, and Webdav. If it works out for you, it would probably eliminate the need for FolderSync.

Is there any app for 4.4.2 that supports transparent encryption (mounting)? Cryptonite 0.9.7 seems to be incompatible with latest Android versions (4.4.2+).

Terratab app

Anyone have a copy of Terratab apk, not supported for IdeaPad_Tablet_K1 k1, but works on similar hardware tablets. So guessing it should work fine, just can't find copy to try.
Works on my K1 with xoom spoofing build.prop. Just downloaded it from the market.
I'll see if I can pull the .apk with titanium backup.
Thanks that would be wonderful. Did you have to have root to spoof xoom?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes, the build.prop is in the /system/ folder which requires root to edit.
have you had a chance to pull the APK for terratab? I have not rooted my device yet still debating as my only complaint so far is lack of a few apps. I have been able to hunt down apk using other devices or websites, just not this one.
Thanks

Titanium backup apparently doesn't export the app as an .apk so you can't use the backup I made.
Try this:

I used to use appbrain on my old cellphone and it was a good way to get apps that the market wouldn't show me.
I have tried Appbrain once I will try again. Titanium exports the apk file, you should have 3 files per application after export. All I need is the *.apk.gz file. I have been using titanium to transfer any apk I could not find, I just can't find this one.
android.tether-23092038.tar.gz
android.tether-23092038.properties
android.tether-23092038.apk.gz
UPDATE: Tried Appbrain, not available on that site.
Ok, i'll get you that file. I tried to use the .apk.gz file by removing the .gz and it wouldn't install so I assumed that it wasn't a proper .apk or titanium had removed something.
Yeah, you have to use program like 7zip and decompress

Here. It sits in data/app-private.That's why Titanium Backup wouldn't work.
Thank you!
I was browsing the google play store on my tower and looked it up due to the cool name. It's installing on my thinkslate now. Glad someone mentioned it. I love apps like this.

[Q] How to protect Ad Free from Google?

I have Ad Free installed and like the fact that it wipes out most of the ads that invade just about anything "Free". I recently notices that all of the ads have come back and when I looked for Ad Free, it was just, ...gone. Then I saw how Google pulled all the ad blockers from Playstore and I remember something about allowing Google to verify all apks on the system at one time. Since I did not remove Ad Free, I can only assume that Playstore did this for me. I had to go looking all over to download it again, lo and behold, it cannot be found on Google at all! Google has finally started censoring the U.S.. I can hardly believe it. Google has pledged to search and find anything, no matter how offensive or horrible it may be, but when it comes to cutting into it's advertising revenue, then all bets are off. I had to go to dogpile to find it again and install it. It works fine.
But, how does one "protect" this app from Google or anything else that deems it not good for me and decides to remove it? Can I use Titanium Backup or somehow block it from Playstore from removal? This really sucks and smacks us in our right to privacy and freedom of speach. How do I stop this from "going away" again? Thanks.
Your hostfile must be renewed, thats all.

[APP][4.0+] AppCategories 1.0.0

Hi guys!
Just wrapped up on my first android app and I wanted to see if people are interested to try it out. Its called App Categories and it does just that: categorizes apps. When you first start the app you can scan your phone for available apps and then you can auto categorize them. Some apps are not present in the Play Store and may not be categorized although I keep an eye on the database and if I see an unknown package I try my best to assign a category for it.
After the initial setup, every time you install a new app it will automatically be categorized. Another feature I implemented is the ability to create a shortcut per category. So if you create a category for games and create a shortcut for it on the launcher, every time you install a new game it should automatically add it to your shortcut.
The app is free and ad-free and it will remain so forever.
Here is a link to the play store:
Here is a link to my App Categories site:
App Categories Website
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or find any bugs.
Thank you!
Works pretty well, nothing to complain about yet.
I like the shortcut feature.
Keep on developing this app.

Clash of Clans, Restricted Profile & Backup to new profile

Hi Guys
Am having a problem migrating my kids Clash of Clans village from my unrooted Nexus 7 running on a restricted profile. I would like to move their villages to a new tablet for them to use but am unable to do so because the restricted profiles on Android does not link to a Google+ profile and you need a Google+ acount to link up the app on the new device.
I was thinking, if I can back up their COC progress on the restricted profile and restore it onto a new regular profile on my Nexus 7, I can then link to a Google+ profile and I will be able to migrate their village to the new device.
I tried to use Carbon Backup to do this but it was unable to back up COC, Carbon says that it is unable to back up the App Data (it can backup other apps data but not COC's).
I would prefer not to have to Root my Nexus unless I really have too. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what app I could use to back up COC to restore onto my new profile, can I do this without rooting?
Thanks
JohnB
I think youll need root ... titanium backup

Hey guys,
I was interested in this field and was wondering how exactly you were leveraging root permissions to actually capture the system audio? This would be super helpful for me - if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your sources it would be much appreciated.
Hey,
Just asking, what does this App do? Any Screenshots? Link to Google Play?
Gesendet von meinem A0001 mit Tapatalk
iirc it lets you stream your system audio over dlna to something like a sonos speaker or upnp device. along with some other less important stuff, check on the playstore com.nav.aoaservice

Very cool that AOA is now free. I like the simplicity of the app -- just redirecting audio to RAOP device on network. Plays well with XBMC/Kodi on Raspberry PI and Airmusic NW11 Airplay/DLNA box.
It works well for me with AOSP (OmniROM) but just seems to pipe noise from HTC Sense ROM (HTC M7 Dev Edition). Does Sense use a non-standard audio stack?
Thank you for this free app. It seems to work well for me as a solution of piping Xbox music pass to my Denon. Only thing I wish it did which another paid app does is send song track info to the airplay device, perhaps it specifically knows how to hook into the Xbox music app for this info, it just works automagically. Would be super if this could get added at some point but isn't critical.
Are people finding their devices just by hitting the magnifying glass? I'm not finding anything, and when I go to the settings and add a device manually, I've got no idea what port number I should choose.
Can anyone help me out?
Many thanks.

How does the device-search perform if you use "AirAudio" instead?
I've been using aoaroot for a few months. Its recently been pulled from play store and I keep getting warnings that its dangerous and to uninstall. Can anyone shed light on the situation? Ive contacted the developer but have not gotten a response yet.

Same here. I ended up uninstalling the app. Any response from the dev?
Not yet, I've uninstalled AOA and bought AllCast instead. It works just as well for me.

WE have confirmation!
Just receieved a reply from the developer. He explained that he has been overseas with no access to his email.
This is what he said about it being banned from the play store:
The app does NOT modify any system files and will not harm your device.
On Android 5.0, SELinux is enabled by default, which will make injectso fail, to make injectso work, the app temporary disable SELinux, launch injectso, then re-enable SELinux immediately , This happens at startup of the app and only lasted a 3 seconds, it should not cause any harm to your device. Unfortunately Google use this as an excuse for violating their developer's terms and have banned this app from playstore.

Force closes on Marshmallow. Anyone got a fix?
This seems to me, misleading, I was thinking this was Android Open Accessory (AOA)

Still looking for a Marshmallow fix on my Nexus 7 2012, as this is just the best thing and free. Or, are there any other free alternatives to this app?
Pity it's not in development any more.
With selinux in permissive the app works for me in M.

Hi!
How did you reach him? The apps (neither SELinux enabled or disabled) not working for me. I use MIUI 8, android 6.
I am trying to enable AOA on my s6 edge android 7.0 installed, for the Sony Auto teyp dsx-a110u for days. And I could not do anything.
Is this a solution for me? Or is there any other solution?
