[Q] How to protect Ad Free from Google? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Ad Free installed and like the fact that it wipes out most of the ads that invade just about anything "Free". I recently notices that all of the ads have come back and when I looked for Ad Free, it was just, ...gone. Then I saw how Google pulled all the ad blockers from Playstore and I remember something about allowing Google to verify all apks on the system at one time. Since I did not remove Ad Free, I can only assume that Playstore did this for me. I had to go looking all over to download it again, lo and behold, it cannot be found on Google at all! Google has finally started censoring the U.S.. I can hardly believe it. Google has pledged to search and find anything, no matter how offensive or horrible it may be, but when it comes to cutting into it's advertising revenue, then all bets are off. I had to go to dogpile to find it again and install it. It works fine.
But, how does one "protect" this app from Google or anything else that deems it not good for me and decides to remove it? Can I use Titanium Backup or somehow block it from Playstore from removal? This really sucks and smacks us in our right to privacy and freedom of speach. How do I stop this from "going away" again? Thanks.

Your hostfile must be renewed, thats all.

Play store orders order

Hello guys,
Surely this question has already been made, but due to the common keywords I get too many records out of a search, so I will ask again...
Since a bit, when we go to the play store's installed apps history, we don't get only the ones we paid for, but every single app we installed on each of our phones phone with our account.
Is there a way to know only the apps we paid for? I dont like to use titanium backup since when I do a factory reset I prefer reinstalling apps from scratch, but scrolling through that neverending list to chease the apps I bought is a pain!
Inviato dal mio GT-N7000 con Tapatalk 2
I would like to know it too, or at least being able to sort apps by type (paid or not). But I'm afraid it's not possible ATM.
It's really a PITA to reinstall apps since that change, especially when your previous position on the list is forgotten each time you install an app and you've got to scroll down again to your next app
You can't sort by it, but it isn't hard to find. Go to the settings link and then my orders and devices. The my orders tab has a price columm.
Is there anyway to remove an app permanently from my app?
There are some apps I tried but don't wanna use anymore but it still appear in the list and scrolling in that long list to find an app I need to reinstall is quite hard
As far as I know, there is no way. I confirm that trying new apps scares me, since I know that they will just make that long list grow!!
Inviato dal mio GT-N7000 con Tapatalk 2
it maybe no way..
So frustrated by this, I have hundreds (most of them no longer in use) of apps listed under "My orders" with no way to sort them by price.
How am I to find my paid for apps Google?
I think we all should send a request to Google to fix this.

You can still use TiBu to restore the apps and no data. That's pretty close to scratch.

Titanium Backup question

When Im restoring apps and data from TB its asking
"allow google to regularly check device activity for security problems....."
should I decline this or accept? currently declining because it looks like snooping but i wanna make sure
Deleted
When I use TB I don't think I've seen that do you have a screen shot
HTC One (M8)
No I just kept declining the warnings but it happened with every app it restored

Accept them as it's just a security feature within Android. It checks apps to see if they have malware. There is no snooping but you could disable the settings in security settings and the development section where it asks if you want to verify apps. Hope that helps

Yep, all the above is true. I would recommend accepting them, as it is added protection from malware and the like (unless you are one of those estranged Google-tin-foil-hatters, in which case deny away). If you would like further proof of these security measures, or simply wish to know more about them, XDA actually posted an article on this today (what a coincidence). It both references Google's current security measures, which you are experiencing, as well as how Google is planning to change this for future app installations.

I thought I was going crazy. I've used TB before without any of those warnings. Is this something that Google does by default if downloaded by the play store

I have only gotten this popup from "installs of unknown sources", such as TB, or really any apk not installed from the Play Store. I have yet to get one from an actual Play Store app, but I will let you know if I do.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in case anyone was wondering

I rooted my phone for the sole purpose of doing this and tried Adaway, Adfree and the ad-blocking tweak found on exposed

Phone: Nexus 5 4.4.4 Kit Kat (rooted)
You can try to block app ads with app called "Lucky Patcher"

i tried didnt work :'(
i dont think you can, ive installed the app myself and it still wouldnt block ads with adaway. looks like ads come from crunchyrolls server and cant be blocked, best advice i have for you is get a premium account or try a different app

Not all ads are from services like Google. Some are built into the app (for example, between turns or levels or attempts). I don't know how Crunchy Roll works - I looked it up on Play, and it looks like the premium service is the way to get rid of ads. So it's probably something on their (server) end that eliminates ads, rather than a paid version of the same app.

or.... download APTOID android market search for the pro version of the app (or any other app), then download it... so simple
don't forget to press THANKS if i helped
Not sure if this is too late, but when Crunchyroll first released their android app, they made a mistake. The app did not display any ads at all. Even though you should always update your apps, I kept this one out dated solely because it does not show any ads.
If you want the apk, you can find it yourself (It was version 0.7.2 I believe) or you can click on the link below

Virus?????

I've had the s6 since it came out. Never had a problem until about a month or so ago. I keep getting these pop ups and whatnot on my screen saying that my phone is infected and I need to download *that* app to remove the virus. I know never to do that. I have factory reset the phone several times to no avail. It usually runs great for a few days then the pop ups started again. I have downloaded a few virus scan apps and they all say there is no virus...... frustrated, please help.
More pics
I am running stock with the latest firmware. I am using textra as well.
Just don't trust. They are advertisement. They wanted you to install their bloatware so called "Antivirus" app.
These are just creative ads. google has nothing to do with it as you can see in the address bar.
One more thing there is no such thing as virus in Android because it is linux bases OS.

If you are rooted then install adaway to block ads.
Or you can just block popups from chrome settings.

I wish I was rooted....I miss being able to mod my phone. How can I get.them to stop?

MM 6.0 Set up until root

For those of us that have updated to official MM what apps/setups are everybody running. If root continues to become more elusive it's good to have root like or alternative apps to fallback on. Some of my favorites right now are Nova launcher, adguard to block ads, silent boot and click light.

I used adguard too because really adblocking is all I need root for, but it really slows my internet down. Other than freezing bloatware, a few essentials; rom toolbox, quickboot and other simple tools that make use of root.
Titanium Backup is still my only real "I need root for this" app.
Supposedly, MM has backup (data) to Google, so this isn't needed any more. Does anyone have more info on this?

I beleive lollipop did to, but I think it needs support from the developer. It's been hit or miss for me. LG backup backs up data though. I used it and it works pretty well not quite as good as titanium, but good enough

I just did the .zip upgrade flash to MM - and didn't root (so I can have Android Pay for a bit....)
So... after a manual phone setup, I think I'm wanting TiBu back. >_<
I set up the data backup thing - and it said to wait 24 hours to see what's backed up. I don't really think there's a "lot" of stuff I need to setup again that's not just accounts - but things like the home screen (TSF Shell) and PieControl (coolace) definitely take the longest. If I can't get my pie setup, I can't use the phone >_< All those have long press functions that are built into muscle memory at this point. I've tried swapping out apps from time to time, and end up just going back to this setup. Having TiBu just for that backup/recovery is probably worth it. If MM backs it up though, I think I can do without root.
Adblocking is what I want the most from root. Adguard seems to be a major battery sucker (I've not looked at how to optimize it, but it is the second highest user of battery behind the screen on my device). I'm also not a fan of having to pay as much as they want for blocking ads in apps....just seems disproportionate. I also want to kill off some of the bloatware as well, but that is a distant second. Silent boot is a great find...

It only restores apps and app versions from the playstore. If you sideloaded any apps they won't restore. Lg backup can restore all apps.

Been using adguard trial and it does drain the battery, but it's only $10/year for premium. For bloat disabling, there's a de-bloat tool I believe in the G4 forum.
