Clash of Clans, Restricted Profile & Backup to new profile - Android General

Hi Guys
Am having a problem migrating my kids Clash of Clans village from my unrooted Nexus 7 running on a restricted profile. I would like to move their villages to a new tablet for them to use but am unable to do so because the restricted profiles on Android does not link to a Google+ profile and you need a Google+ acount to link up the app on the new device.
I was thinking, if I can back up their COC progress on the restricted profile and restore it onto a new regular profile on my Nexus 7, I can then link to a Google+ profile and I will be able to migrate their village to the new device.
I tried to use Carbon Backup to do this but it was unable to back up COC, Carbon says that it is unable to back up the App Data (it can backup other apps data but not COC's).
I would prefer not to have to Root my Nexus unless I really have too. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what app I could use to back up COC to restore onto my new profile, can I do this without rooting?
Thanks
JohnB

I think youll need root ... titanium backup

[App] SwitchMe - Share Your Device - MULTIPLE USER SPACES

Hi guys Im one of the developers of SwitchMe - an app that creates multiple user spaces. We have just released a new build which should fully support the Note. Please have a look and let me know if everything is working as it should!
Thanks in advance, PR after the break:
.................................................................................................
SwitchMe - share your device!
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple installations of Android just as you would on a desktop computer.
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple user spaces just as you would on a desktop computer, with each profile having its own separate system settings, apps and data.
Some of the benefits of this technology:
Privacy
Securely share one device among many users, protect your accounts with passwords and log out automatically.
Kids
Create a profile for the kids, with only the apps and access you feel comfortable with.
Gaming
Overclock your profile for maximum performance in intensive games
Speed
Imagine a buttery smooth profile, with no kids games, messengers or bloatware to slow things down.
Testing
Create a sandbox profile to easily test applications and themes - no more nandroid nightmares!
Battery
Switch to a profile which only contains the essentials to save power through brute force.
Critical usage warning:
Incorrect use of this application can potentially harm your device. Before proceeding with use we strongly recommend that you perform a full nandroid backup through the device recovery.
READ THE HELP FILE CAREFULLY TO AVOID ISSUES
Without the Key, this application allows a maximum of 2 profiles and no security features.
Only the standard Android implementation of Apps2SD is currently supported. Use all others at your own risk.
Most devices should be compatible as long as they have enough free internal memory to create secondary profiles. The application will warn users if available memory is low.
These of course are only suggestions - there are plenty of other uses for the functionality SwitchMe offers.

The free version allows the creation of two profiles and has no security features.

Everything work fine on the first day, but later when i boot in my second account, it reboot for almost 10 mins and lost my active one, and lost everything

So, what changes did you make to your system? Because generally things have both cause and effect...
no big changes with my tab, just normal use, no overclock... its just a clean install on the second account. I just want to use it after work for playing game and web surfing. that's it. But when i want to switch it back to my active account, it switched off immediately and reboot for almost 10mins, and boot into the second account and i lost my active one.

You didnt lose anything, you just switched profiles... the first switch between any two can take a while.
Guys there have been reports of the app being blank sometimes. Im trying to work out if this is something to do with superuser vs supersu. If youve experienced this, please let me know and be sure to tell me which of the two youre using...

hey what's the scene with this app "Wifi Protector" ... No matter what i do it keeps running on it its own !
This thread is not really needed. Those apps you put there are obvious and most users here know it already.
Besides even though Linux is an open sourced software/OS Antivirus is not really needed on Android ( just a waste of RAM and Money )

Just got a GS3, how can I move apps over/sync app data?

I have a ton of games in my nexus 7 that I want to move over to my S3, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. Has anyone been able to do this?
I've tried using DataSync from the play store, but doesn't work that well or the apps crash when I run them on the new phone. I tried copying the files from titanium backup in windows but I either did it wrong or it doesn't work.
The nexus 7 is on 4.2 though. Perhaps that's why it isn't working? Is there any way to sync app data between 2 devices so that I can play the same game on both?
Try copying the files over from titanium backup, before restoring, just install the app trough play store, and then use titanium backup to just restore the DATA, don't restore the app itself.

thanks! that worked. now I can keep playing subway surfers haha.
do you happen to know of any way to reliably sync the app data so that I don't have to keep doing this every time I play on a different device?
Sorry, no, I just always used this method.
I don't even own the GS3, but just came across this. I can't test any methods, you'll just have to search.

Came back to post the solution in case anyone has the same problem. The new, free DataSync Beta on the play store lets you seamlessly sync apps between two devices. There is a paid addon that will autosync for you as well. This has worked perfectly so far between my GS3 and nexus 7.
To sync my games, I downloaded them from play store on my new device first, and then synced with the app. It even lets you make lists to sync so all your games will sync with just one press

If you pay the few dollars for the pro version of TB then you can enable dropbox. Once it is enabled you can assign certain apps a label and then sync only those under that label to dropbox. Do this for all devices and whenever you want to continue on a diff device just hit the sync button on TB and restore the data. Just be sure to sync any progress on one device to dropbox before you sync the other one. It sounds like a lot but it only takes seconds to sync from one device, open up TB on the other and then import just the data. It has worked for me

Titanium Backup & Facebook

Is it normal to be asked to enter sign in info after restoring Facebook? I'd assumed one of the benefits of backing up and restoring apps was that login info would be retained... Otherwise may as well just reinstall from Play.

Yes it is, the Facebook app doesn't play well with titanium backup. And yes you could just skip backing it up or you could backup your accounts and restore them and get what you want

Well, you've discovered that Titanium Backup is not completely bullet-proof, i.e. there are some apps that just don't play well with it. Your posting tone almost implies that Titanium Backup is now useless: .after all, you can just reinstall all your user apps from their respective play stores or other sources if you need to. Of course, backing up, freezing/removing, or restoring system apps is another story, but after all, how useful can that really be?
Having to login again is pretty minor if the rest of an apps settings and data are preserved...was that the case with Facebook?
Lol... Yeah my tone did imply that... But am finding it really useful and prob wouldn't be without it now my phone is rooted and flashed especially with all the ROM updates! Do need to get to grips with some of the other features...

Best app for backup of apps, desktop, etc

I buy and sell phones to try the new stuff and previously had been strictly with iOS. I'm just now getting in the game with Android again, and was wondering what app is most similar to an iCloud or iTunes backup?
I see some things on the internet, but they are a little dated. It looks like Helium back-up is a good choice?
My contacts are all stored with Google or Microsoft Exchange at work, my photos are stored with Google or Dropbox. Text messages I don't care too much about, nor call history.
I just want the hundred or so apps that I have downloaded to download again and also to be placed on the home page in the same folder that I had before.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.

titanium is the best for rooted devices, however it does not arrange icons in folders like you mentioned
I have never had a problem with titanium imo it's the best

I don't see any other option even closer to Titanium.
You need to learn about titanium how and what to do and what not to do.
I have some app +contacts +messages carry forwarded since samsung galaxy s (my first Android) to Note 1- 2-3-4 and currently on N5
See here a message I received on 2011 and still now on my device
Thanks to Titanium
