Hi, I have a problem with the battery, it doesn't charge and overheats to second of turn on the phone (50ºC).
Any solution? Or buy a new battery (the most probably), thanks.

Hey try to open up your back and clean the terminals of the battery / dust in the backcase. Apart from that you can try flashing a new kernel / custom ROM and see if the experience changes. Last option is as you said. Battery Recalliberation is a hoax. IMO.

I will try clean the contacts of phone, mmmm... I get the same results in Bootloader and Recovery, so I think that change ROM or kernel isn't fix the problem.
Battery recallibration is only for fix problem in battery indicator, nothing more xd...
Thanks man .

Though Most of you Might know this already But I'll post it for the new Users out there
So you have flashed your Rom Recently and are finding some trouble with your battery?
Does it dies too quickly? or you see those numbers going down very Soon?
There might be some Other Issues related to Battery drainage but most common problem the user might experience after flashing quite a few ROM's is Mis- callibration of the battery
To fix this install a market app known as battery callibration
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd
You need to have a ROOTED device for that
program does it by removing the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon, thus any fake information from the previous ROM is removed.
When you reboot the phone after calibration a new batterystats.bin is created
IMPORTANT after calibration let your phone discharge to 0% and then charge it to 100% without break
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK (although None is involved) I'm NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
ANY SORT OF DAMAGE DONE.
Hope this helps you guys
This can also be done via CWM usinge the delete battery stats option.

Just following logic. If someone has started flashing Roms and rooting devices, I would be surprised if they had not discovered CWM

after doing research on all methods to recallibrate checking pros and cons finally i got the answer brothers...its very simple no need for cwm or drain full abttery kill your batery download recallibrate delete batterystat.bin....all fake bother....just do a simple step remove your battery for 2-5 minutes and than on it....you are recalibrated....simple
but what about batterystats.bin? Why is it there? ^^
And from which research resource you are talking?

Hey..it works, thanks for your efort in researching this
I'm quite desperate coz ever since I'm installing creed 1.7 seems like my bettery drain very fast, too bad coz I like this ROM. Last night I charged it to 100%,then I go to sleep(so my HH is idle) but when I woke up 3 hours later,my battery stat already drop to 84%,strange. So I try plugged out my battery for 5 mins and voila..now it's written 53% but it's been like that for half hour so maybe it's quite stable now. Thanks again dude
since 13 months i m using fit bro and the most annoying thing of android was battery backup so researched almost all sites of android and lion baterry ....checked alll methods of battery boosting from apps and ram clearance,...the battery stats.bin bro yup that you dont have to take care its android system which adjust itself and recalibrate when you make your android without power means no battery for a while and when you insert it again the system itself recognizes....killing your battery specialy lion reduces its self life also its the number of cycles so whenever you charge charge your phone to fullest not like every 5 min you are charging your phone once a day to the fullest just check what i said bro its really works just believe and c

However, as she explains, that’s not the case. Because those battery stats, stored in the batterystats.bin file, are only used to maintain information about what is using the battery when not recharging. That is, it essentially holds the information displayed in the Settings > Battery screen. Nothing more, nothing less. Thus:
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.

I did battery re calibration once and it made no difference at all, having a google engineer dis-miss all the myths is good enough for me buddy.

Yeah I agree too..Not much difference
but still not that difficult too (Matter of seconds?)
I installed Battery Calibration 1.2. When open it writes the following:
1. Plug in your phone to the charger
2. Wait till it charges to 100%
3. Click 'Battery Calibration'
4. Unplug your phone

Hi,
Please help me, my phone is unusable. It keeps shutting down on its own. I charged it fully and within 2mins it got shutdown when i was watching a video, When i switched it on the battery % went down to 10% from 100%. What is the problem is it a motherboard problem?
Thanks,
Can you be a little more specific as regards to Rom, kernel?
To check your battery, remove it, keep it on a table n try to rotate it.if it does, it's swollen n gone.crude, but works.
Next , does it reboot randomly? If it does, flash to stock.even after this if it's rebooting, most likely a motherboard problem.
"why doesn't anybody kill the dj?"
yes it is swollen, stock rom and stock kernel. I will purchase a new won. thanks a lot mate. I found out that overcharging is one of the reasons that can cause this.

Hey everyone!
I need some help
I'm on ultimate nexus rom(4.2.2)
And I'm using xtreme rejoice kernel
Yesterday i flashed bindass boost kernel for testing purposes
And the phone started to behave abnormally
(The kernel is really good and smooth, the developer has done a great job)
But in my case, i ran into a little problems
Now my phone's battery isn't charging
Or if charging then it's not showing the increase in charge
I flashed back the xtreme rejoice kernel
But the problem still persists
I've tried using different chargers
My phone is now plugged in from 1.5 hrs
And the charge is the same
But if i restart my phone the charge increases after reboot
I've tried reflashing my kernel and rom
Even a clean install
What might it be?
Is it a damaged battery?
Or a software bug i'm experiencing
And also the colour of led till yesterday was lighter
And today it's darker
Somebody help please!
Thanks in advance!
Restarted and I'm dowm to 24%
Please somebody help!

I had faced the same problem last 2months ago. Whenever I restarted my phone it will either increase or decrease.
What I had done is in that bad condition I charged whole night and the next day I flashed back the ROM properly.
Whatever battery % was left I ended up to 0 and then tried charging and it took to 100% then I calibrated it. Its working fine for me till date
Check if it helps you and if it does hit thanks

Check by calibrating else your battery might be the culprit.

ya she's having a canvas 2 plus
different in hardware
but the battery is same 2000mah
and now i don't have any problem
even when i restart there is no battery drop
now I'm just looking for a good kernel for battery life
I've tried a few
and will keep trying until i find one
btw thanks everyone for your suggestions
have a great time!
Ok guys sorry to revive such an old thread
But i gave my canvas 2 to my mom
And now again some problem is there
The battery is only 5-6 months old and is in good condition.
But it's giving very low battery backup.
It takes forever to charge
But after charging it for sometime if i restart the phone the battery level rises.
So would caliberation help?

Sometimes when i use the camera with flash and the battery is low my phone just dies.
But on other occasions it might work perfect.
I bought a new battery 2 months ago and i am running ViperS 5.2.1
Does somebody know a solution?

The new battery is a very tight fit
although thanks for the answer!
I have the same problem. When battery is under 40%. I have tried CM11 and Carbon roms too, but same problem. A half solution is to underclock cpu to 1.2 GHz (tested on my phone, it dies when battery is under 30%), clean the battery and board contacts. BTW my battery is old, so for me, maybe that's the problem.

Does your phone always crash when the battery is under 30% ?
If this is the case you should try to take a photo when you are charging the phone.
If it works when you are charging you might need another battery.
I have tried right now to take a picture with flash on at battery level 22%. Rom: latest Carbon. It just died. Tried to take a picture with phone carghing from usb, it died. So, i think i'm gonna need a new battery.
