Android 4.3 on Tipo ? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

searchd for it but nothing found.
Is it possible that android 4.3 comes to our phone ?
i heard something about 225 mb RAM and 512 mb RAM requirement
what is true ?
and are some of you on this to port if we get no update ?

Best things? Ive checked in some xda threads, 4.3 is going to be more htc-like, meaning: theres this s-on thing that prevents /system mod. Who knows, maybe all 4.3 devices will need unlocked bootloader just to get proper su root. Too bad for us locked only bootloader devices. Nice, now android wants to copy ios security style. Bye-bye 1-click root, hello again stock lagginess.

Thats the whole point. No more messing around with stock. You want control? Go aosp, along with open source kernel. Im afraid 4.3 may be going this way. Just checked official viper4android xda thread and theyre still investigating this. Just look at stock vs custom kernel. Yes, its got higher benchmark, but, can it really play HD games without some graphic glitches, or some black screen only issue? It seems that android now wants to protect typical users from messing around with su powers again.

sure u can use the phone with other guys at work or something like this. but the normal user dont share the phone with others..
everybody has his/her own phone.
( i think that this function is on windows pc not more longer useful too - companys uses the company version of windows. and THERE can be this function still exist.)
my mind ..
its too much stuff that the normal user not use. maybe a few develops but must will delete those functions in their ROMs to make it smart as possible

Not me. Google is the cruel one. Look at ics. They gave us mtp so they can kill mass storage mode. Then its the internal memory thingy. After that, FUSE type filesystem where /data and /storage/sdcard0 share the same size and location to kill vold.fstab mods. Now, this security thing. Lets just hope when 4.3 really gone official, su and everything su related will work like always.

[REQUEST] Pls port Sense UI to our beloved R

Hey guys (adam, grarak, vikram, selva and other gr8 developers)
I have seen many ppl talking abt sense ui which made me think dat it mite be gud. So finally one day i saw the sense uo and was amazed it was gr8. I even tried to use the guide in the general thread dis 1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721539
But honestly i dont know a think abt porting and the kitchen et cetera, et cetera can any of you pls pls port sense ui to our Galaxy R. It will look absolutely stunning. I am sure many ppl would want to try sense on our R. So guys if u have time pls try and port the sense ui to our device. Possibly whoever wants the sense ui can +1 in dis thread wat u say?
Thanks and regards.

Exactly. The matter which complicates things even more is that no Samsung and HTC devices share a chipset, making it impossible to find a common denominator so to say

Sense UI is really something.. We all know that.. Even i would love to see it in our SGR.. If the developers are interested, i think we can conduct a poll question for this topic.. What do u say guys?
Poll for what my friend? Just read Adam's post. This is a hell lot of work. We might as well port the S2 Official JB ROM before we are even half way through this. As it is Adam has his hands filled with CM, Karthik is resuming AOSP soon, Grarak has multiple ROM's and so has MJ. I suggest we focus on getting stable ROM's rather than a myriad of unstable/unusable ones. Just imagine, all that work and what you get in the end is a Sense Look Alike, half stable that a FEW people MAY/WOULD like to try. Not a good deal I feel.
So d point is we wont get sense

Sense doesnt make sense
No offence to anyone but personally i do not like sense. Hell ! even my friends with htc dont like it cuz it eats resources and battery! Id take CM10 or 10.1 over sense anyday . If we are talking about launchers , I feel the need for a customized version of trebuchet in which there is an option for rearranging icons and making folders in the menu.

U simply cannot port it from SGS2 bro.. Our SGR h/w is entirely different from SGS2.. It aint possible for us to port from other devices.. If we have to port jelly bean, then Samsung have to release a source for us or build jelly bean for us which is highly unlikely..

Why cant we modify stock s2 jb rom or any other stock jb rom and make it compatible with our device.

Okay agreed at a point that hardware does not match..it is completely different..
But cant those things be edited so as to make compatible?

Nobody said its impossible. Its just super-difficult. We cannot port official JB for approx the same reason why we couldn't port the official ICS. Samsung implements a completely different set of framework and libraries for each of its devices depending on what its hardware is. If you wanted to port an official Samsung ROM you would have to re-write most of these framework and library files which are hardware dependent, which eventually culminates into a mountain of work. Sound Good?

So like if 10 or more devs work together on a particular stock rom..then only we can have it all?
Then another question is why would any dev waste time on stock roms when they can make better roms
Bdw it sounds tough..doing must be tougher.

[Q] Problem with rooting Miro - what am I doing wrong?!

First lemme congratulate developers for their hard work and thank them for this site, it's really full of information of any kind regarding any software/hardware problems what-so-ever! Now enough with small talk and kissing the ass: guys I really need help!
As you can all see I'm noobiest of all noobs when it comes to Android so I'm asking for straight forward answer - what am I doing wrong?! Recently I bought Experia Miro and almost instantly realized there's much to learn but I've heard of that famous rooting and got to it like fly on the crap!
I checked almost every thread you guys have and used a simple method of SuperOneClick (step by step explained in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682) and soon afterwards downloaded SDK (with update packages and all), but it seems that every time I get stuck at step #5 at which point I get that famous "waiting for device" line and then nothing!
So pretty please, with sugar and cherry on top, tell me what am I doing wrong?
forget that! just download "unlockroot" free version software!
run it and click root!

Not sure where to start from (as I said, I'm more then amateur in Android operations) thus I need some serious help cuzz it seems that my phone drastically declined in performance since rooting....
Even more so, I'd like to know a bit more about some processor overclocking, it seems that 800MHz and 512MB RAM just won't do the trick
Further more it says that it's not allowed to unlock bootloader and as far as I can see from post made by Sony Experia officials (http: //unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions) I won't be able to flash any custom ROMs nor Kernels?
I think there might be some ways to unlock the bootloader with status no. I don't know how but you should search or ask some developer about that!
About overclocking, you need to install a custom kernel with overclock support, but there isn't any such stable kernel for Miro. Devs still working on it.
I would suggest you to stick with the lockee bootloaders custom roms if you want performance!
Currently im using the gamerz rom and the performance is GOOD!

It did and I successfully rooted my device (with SuperSU and everything) but it seems I can't unloock bootloader (thus can't flash any ROM into the device).
I tried with SE Bootloader Unlocking (ht tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613) but it's stuck at getting the unlock code (I'm not sure if it's even possibl to fastboot my device)...

Will try it out if i get bored with this..but for now, just be patient since devs are freelancers and only get paid through generous donations..
Cheers to them!and welcome to Android! :highfive:

[Q] Building 4.3 JB for Xperia E

Hi,
First of all I believe this is a development thread, and It should probably be moved there but since I am new I was not allowed to post there.
Now I recently downloaded the entire source tree from aosp and I compiled version 4.3 JB. It went smooth and it made the appropriate system.img image. I wanted to port this to Xperia E Single Sim. I begin by first downloading CyanogenMod nanhu SS zip file and extracted the boot.img file from it (Since that's the kernel) I then wrote an extremely simple updater-script which basically flashed the system.img onto the system partition. zipped it up then ran TWRP and flashed the zip file. It asked me whether I wanted to install root and I said yes, after it installed root, I rebooted the phone and it is stuck at bootloop. I am stuck here as I do not know how to proceed to try and port this pure aosp rom to it. I hope you can shed any light on what I am supposed to do.
Haven't u use the @jjm34 cwm kernel yet?
Sent from my C1505 using xda app-developers app
Yes possibly it will be a good thread, if any developer can start developing for this device.
Sent from my C1605 using Tapatalk 2
The @jjm34 kernel is basically a Stock kernel, It's based on Sony's stock kernel, in order to run a pure aosp rom, you would have to compile a kernel yourself BASED on something. I am yet to learn how to do this, I dont know how to set up my device tree in such a way that when I run the lunch command, I should be able to build for the xperia E SS.
Why focus on a pure AOSP kernel? Just port Sony's kernel for now. Otherwise there will be a lot of problems with RIL and all..
any updates about this development? i'm really desperate getting the aosp rom for xperia e because i really don't like the sony's stock rom...

Your first post on XDA is against the rules of XDA. You should read them.
If you are so desperate you should get a different phone that has active development or develop yourself.
We do not appreciate your type of desperation here. There are more valid reasons in life to feel desperation, not having AOSP is not one of them. If you still feel this way in a couple of days I advise you seek medical help.

It is. Only a ton of work . It would be very interesting to try to port this. Unfortunately, I only have some basic knowledge of XML's and framework editing, very, VERY basic... It would be cool to try this, but yeah...
Have a nice day!

It would be great to see 4.3 running on our E and E Dual, sorry I do not understand XML, if understood, would help him. Sorry for my horrible English, I'm Brazilian. Have a good night!
Any luck with 4.3 for the XE

A noob with some questions :)

Hello!
I'm ajesushn, I come from ginger (Galaxy Ace S5830i) and in my opinion JB look like very complicated to flash (compared to ginger).
At first, I would want to know which is the difference between official unlock bootloader method (Sony and FreeXperia method) and flashtool method??
At second, I'm very excited due to cyanogenmod 10 is available for nanhu but I have been searching a especific changelog for nanhu or the buglist in the FreeXperis Project website but I have not found it. I search this because I saw a GSM bug in some website but I didn't see the solution or if this bug has been fix yet. So, is it CM10 100% working (GSM too)?
Thats all and thanks for your attention.
Regards from Spain!

Try jjm34's CM10 rom if don't want any GSM bugs [link]
and for the kernel: use jjm34=single or hsr0=dual. just google it

For me it's not a '100%', because video recording/playback doesn't work... and minor bugs may arise after some time...
hope this helpss.

Hey!
I come from Gingerbread as well (Micromax Bolt A27, super cheap phone), and I think JB is actually easier to use/flash than GB. But keep your opinion, don't copy mine if you don't want to.
1. The difference... I honestly see none. I've unlocked and relocked, once unlocked with Sony, once with Flashtool. Either time, I saw no difference. They might even be the same thing, with Flashtool doing nothing but automating the process.
2. Don't use FXP. FXP, while good development, is incomplete. Instead, use this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330638 (made by jjm34), and this kernel: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B73-53ZX-WVRSGxDZFBjNURBdm8/edit (made by hsr0). This is the best CM10 you can get, the only bugs being:
a) Video recording doesn't work.
b) Compass/magnetometer doesn't work (nobody ever pointed this out, but it's true).
c) GSM randomly fails for some people.
d) In a couple of cases, Bluetooth had problems.
Note that it's a very, very low chance you'll get bugs c) and d), but I've got both, so I'm currently using stock.

Bug e)Sometimes charging randomly fails.
Yep. I'm back at bug d and e -.-
No CyanogenMod for me, until CM11. I'm getting real tired. This is the second time in 2 weeks. If I have to flash the same ROM every week, I might as well stay stock.
@OP: You can always try CM10, but my advice is to stay stock until CM11 arrives, hot off the press with development still being active!
Have a nice day
Thank you for your answer!
I think that I prefer waiting for a stable CM11 release. Cross finger!
A last question, please. What custom based-on-stock ROM do you recommend??

Hey!
My favorite stock based ROM for our little E after CM10 is Xboost. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559312
Hope I helped, and have a nice day

Frankly speaking, if Sony wanted to update nanhu to KitKat, they'd have updated it to 4.2 and 4.3 too. But we're still at 4.1. Moral of the story: no, sorry. UltraGamerHD and hsr0 are working on CM11, but you'll have to wait a bit.

Relock??! HOW??
Ok. Flashtool method looks like nice but, need this program another program to work (as android SDK, for example) ??
And why say Sony that unlock bootloader may cause malfunctions and problems in devices?? To scare??

Before unlocking, root your device, and backup the TA partition. Now unlock, and whenever you want to relock, simply reflash the TA partition.
I don't think the SDK or anything else is needed, as I never installed it. However, I do always keep Minimal ADB and Fastboot on my laptop (it's basically ADB and Fastboot without downloading the whole SDK).
This last line you said confuses me. Who said unlocking causes malfunctions? Sony? If it's Sony, they're warning you that with an unlocked bootloader, you're likely to flash new system images, different kernels, stuff like that. Doing all that has a chance that you'll brick your phone. Of course, it doesn't usually happen, but there's always a chance. To restore, you can usually flash the stock FTF file, so that's no big problem.
Hi!
At "Original Android Development" thread there is a Tapioca CM11 thread but, this say "device maintaner: (...) E -> hsr0" so , is it a nanhu CM11 thread too? Is it a common CM11 thread if the title say "Tapioca"? I'm confused
