[q] galaxy gt-i9003 latest update for samsung india - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hey, Anyone can help me how to install the new software release for glaxy sl. I download a".tar.md5" file from live.samsung-updates.com. The file is somewhat like " I9003DDMF1_I9003ODDLF2_I9003DDLE1_HOME.tar.md5".
What other files might be required to install & what software is the best?
Help Me out as Samsung Kies fails everytime after the phone goes to download mode.

I'm pretty sure you just have to flash it through Odin 1.85. Download it, click PDA, choose the update file and then click start.

Thnks dude for helping me out. But this update doesn't have much changes. It worked & updated.

N..don't use odin3 v1.85, to install this firm use odin3 v3.04 (download it from the attachments).
you don't have to install kies, just install galaxy sl usb drivers (thanks to Zulfauzi).
install instructions are here (follow the value pack instructions) (thanks to Misledz).
Hope this helped you

Problem Rooting Samsung Galaxy S I9003 using Odin

After following kkrraazzyy 's instructions for rooting my Galaxy S I9003 which, according to the comments, seemed to work for a lot of people, I came across a problem.
After selecting the pit file, putting my phone into download mode, connecting the usb, and noting that the COM was recognized by Odin, I clicked start.
The process was running smoothly until it reached the Reset phase. At this point the phone screen's "Downloading" image went blank and has remained blank for a while now.
Help, Please!!
Odin is not use to root..Odin is for flashing firmware..
To flash firmware, follow the guide by Misledz here(Gingerbread only)..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
For root, use CF-root by skin1980(For xxkph & JPKP5 only)..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201062
For other froyo version, you can search from this forum..All guide is there~..
I followed the instructions but I'm still getting this blank screen once it reaches the reset! I don't think the phone is booting properly (or at all perhaps)...
Okay so basically here is the problem:
I wanted to root my Samsung Galaxy S I9003 (Build JPKC2). Unfortunately for me, I ended up flashing it instead of rooting it. I used Odin and everything was going smoothly (little did I know I was flashing not rooting) then when it came to the reset phase, my phone screen went from the downloading mode screen to a blank one.
Can someone please help me and tell me what to do?
Also if you need anymore information, please feel free to ask; just bear in mind that I can't access anything on the phone because it doesn't turn on.
LOL !!! u put the file in the PIT location !! lol.. just download kpe and kph and flash using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
and to root just flash that in odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201062
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY 2ce BEFORE ACTUALLY FLASHING IT !
okay to root, which .tar file do I download?
and will it work? I don't think the phone is booting! Will rooting it fix this problem?

it is simple man..
step:
1- Flash XXKPE file, put all the file in the required box in Odin v1.83 then
1a- 3 check box are CHECK!
2- Flash XXKPH, only 1 required box needed which is PDA.
2a- 2 check box are CHECK!
root
1- Flash CF-Root kernel in Odin v1.83 under PDA.
finish
look the instruction given by member above..
okay I follow, that's great...I'm just wondering which file I should use from here:

There are 2 method:-
1- CF-ROOT-XXKPH-05.09.2011.tar to flash using odin v1.83 under PDA
2- CF-ROOT-XXKPH-CWM_manager-05.09.2011.zip to flash using ClockWork Recovery
u can find this on 2nd post
thank you! but where is the second post?
lol same thread just u give me before..under 1st post is 2nd post
oh! sorry about that.. thanks
so if I'm using odin i just put CF-ROOT-XXKPH-05.09.2011.tar into the pda and run it?
and that should fix my whole problem, including the boot issue?

about ur probs, im not very sure but u can try..if u r still facing the probs, u need to re-flash again from xxkpe
okay just one last question...which check boxes should be checked when I'm using odin and CF-ROOT-XXKPH-05.09.2011.tar into the pda?

Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time should CHECK!
left Re-Partition UNCHECK!
I got the same problem! When the device is supposed to reboot, the screen stays blank. It doesn't reboot! What do I do!? :S

maybe u should re-flash again from xxkpe then xxkph..make sure u do the right step..
this is my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l6hTuWWjLE
the video looks very helpful but do i put the xxkpe file in pit, pda, bootloader, phone, AND csc? All of them with the same xxkpe file?
yes..put all the xxkpe file in the required box.. put it all together..3 check box there should CHECK. hit start button and wait until boot into the system. then turn off your phone and go to downloading mode again
then
flash xxkph file, which is only 1 file and put it in the PDA..Re-partition should UNCHECK!
hit start button and wait until reboot into phone menu.
after that, turn off ur phone again and go to downloading mode and flash CF-Root
download the XXKPE and XXKPH here:-

FAQ's :
Q. I am getting stock recovery instead of CWM touch recovery. Why is that ?
Two reasons : 1. If your firware is updated through KIES the odin cannot reach the block in which the recovery is there.
Solution : Flash any Stock Firmware through Odin and then flash the recovery.
2. Random issue is spotted where the recovery does not flash after the above solution too.
Solution : Uncheck auto-reboot. After Odin says PASS remove battery and re-insert it, Now you can enter CWM !
Q. Why is my download not ending even though md5 is verified?
Solution : If you are using the USB cable which came with the phone please change it , it is damn slow !
Q. COM port is not turning up !!!!!!
Solution : Update your ADB driver or install it properly.
Q. All of the above is correct, then why the hell odin is not flashing the recovery ?
Solution : Try flashing through odin3 v3.07(try googling it for download),then too you can't get it right then the hell demon is in your mobile he'll not let you do this

You must be missing something or doing something wrong.
What version of ODIN do you have ? I have used v3.07
Have you enabled the "USB debugging" in android's Developer options ?
Give us more details on the exact procedure/steps that you are doing.

Not sure if I did something wrong, also I had Odin v3.04 I downloaded/used Odin v3.07 afterwards, but that still did not work.
These are the steps I did.
1. I downloaded the ABD drivers
2. Downloaded the recovery from this thread
3. Turned off my device
4. Went to odin mode
5. Connected my usb cable to my mobile
6. The mobile got detected through Odin3
7. I selected CWM through PDA
8. Clicked start
9. Waited till it went succesfull
10. Turned my phone yet again off
11. Tried to go to CWM, but instead I went to Android system recovery
Also dev. options were enabled.

OK, here are some other things that may help with troubleshooting:
- I have the i9105P model (with NFC)
- The drivers installed from KIES tough this should not make any difference.
- The firmware version installed on my phone using ODIN is I9105XXAMB2 downloaded from here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9105P
For the non-NFC version I cannot see a similar firmware version but I see that there is an I9105DDAMB2 version built on 12 Feb
Maybe chotu222 is can tell if the firmware revision on the phone should make any difference.

Q: update to JB to Lollipop

Hello All,
I want to install lollipop builds on my tab 2 7" (Gt-P3100) now i am on Jb 4.1.1 can i directly flash LP after i root and install philz. or tell me how to do i saw jb 4.2.2 update file but when i download it says site blocked. so please help me how to do in step by step
It's better if you download any 4.2.2 firmware from sammobile and flash it through Odin, because it will make sure that you have the latest bootloader, then you can root it, flash custom recovery, and then you can update to lollipop, any doubt or help? Feel free to ask me and make sure you go crazy on the thanks button ?
You can flash the latest bootloader from codeworkx dev-host folder, make sure you are in your device folder!

Here is the link to file you need to flash :-http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/17730/P3100XXDMG6_P3100OXADMG6_XEF/
I am also posting the steps:-
How to Update Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100 to Official JB 4.2.2 XXDMG6 Firmware
Odin can be properly used only if your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 drivers are being installed on your computer. If the drivers are not there, get them manually or use Samsung KIES.
Download Odin on your computer.
Unzip the file on your PC and install the same.
Also, run Odin on your computer.
Finally, go here and download the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 file.
Place the file on desktop and on the same place unzip the package.
Enter the Tab 2 in download mode.
For download mode first turn off your handset; wait a few seconds and then press on Power, Volume Down and Home buttons at the same time.
Connect your device with the computer via USB cable.
Odin will recognize your tablet and on the program you will see the “added” message displayed and the ID:COM section blue or yellow.
If not, resolve the problems by reinstalling the drivers on the computer.
From Odin click on the option named “PDA”.
Pick the update file from your computer.
The re-partition section and the f. reset time box should be unchecked.
Click on “start”.
The XXDMG6 Firmware will now be installed.
In the end on Odin the ID:COM section will be green and the “pass” message will be displayed.
Then, you will be able to unplug the USB cable; also reboot your device.

You don't need to update bootloader if you are on 4.1.2 as it has a lollipop compatible boot loader,
You can get the custom recovery file from here, I am posting of my favorite recovery that is TWRP
Just click here :- TWRP
Of course you need a rooted tab for flashing it, you can just download it to your tab and flash it by using Rashr (it's a app available on playstore, just click on it to go to the google play page to download it) or existing recovery, that you most probably don't have.
And tell me anything else you want, but don't forget to press the thanks button
