Is there anyway to flash the Motorola M after unlocking bootloader WITHOUT using usb - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My port is f'd up on my RAZR HD and will not allow connection to laptop. The tear down is rather complicated for me because it requires soldering to the motherboard.

Wrong forum. And probably not. It may be very simple to replace the port. Look for a tear down video and the part online.

Why is this the wrong forum?

This is the Droid Razr HD, Droid Razr Maxx HD, and Razr HD forum (XT925/XT926). There is a forum specific to the Droid Razr M (XT907). Like i posted before, wrong forum.

Actually it's not the wrong forum, but I edited the OP for clarity

I just realized that you mean you want to flash the Motorola boot logo or splash screen. Motorola M in the title + XT907 in your sig. confused me.
The answer to your question is NO. You have to be connected to a computer to flash the bootlogo. There currently is no mobile fastboot.
Looks like it is possible as eye__dea has pointed out.
Are you using the cable that came with the phone? Try more than one cable if possible.
Also try the drivers, and possibly the logo from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340075
Sorry for confusion the title sig thing messed me up.

Oh I see. But yes I have tried every cable in the land. I took my beloved RAZR HD to the beach and got it ever so damp with salt water... Functions perfectly except can't take a usb (Wall or otherwise) except from one cheap O charger. I think the reason it works is that through some glitch in the matrix, that charger disables other functionality when it's plugged in... But EVERY other charger/Usb cable causes phone to boot loop.

You could open up the phone and disconnect the battery then try cleaning the port with a q-tip soaked in alcohol.

Hello,
What is the name of the red M splash screen on the XT926? Where can it be found? Is it a file called "Logo" ?
I have an unlocked bootloader & rooted phone, and I want to give my phone a stock look, instead of looking at the "Unlocked Bootloader" warning every time.
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question, but I haven't had much luck searching the xda site. It always points me to 'boot animations' which I don't want to change.
All I want is the red, circular M when the phone powers on.
Thank You,
Paul

[Q] Bricked phone, help please

Hello xda.
I bought a D2G from eBay that came with MIUI, I wanted a stock android so I downloaded a supposedly stock ROM and flashed it with CWM included in MIUI.
It bricked my phone but I can still get to stock recovery, I've read a bit but I'm still confused of how to unbrick it. I watched a Youtube vid that was a guide to do that, however some people say that one of the files is corrupted.
I already have RSD Lite and the drivers, what do I have to do next, please help me.
Thank you very much.
EDIT: Is very probable that the ROM I flashed wasn't the correct one because it was about 100Mb in size.
EDIT2: If it helps in any way, if I turn on the phone it shows the MIUI logo and then goes blank (well grey).
try wiping data in stock recovery
edit: what was the file name and how did you flash it, clockwork or bootloader mode
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Thank you for your response I'll try that now, by the way, can I charge battery in stock recovery? because I don't know how much do I have left.
EDIT: The file is in the other computer, I'm downloading right now another called DROID2WE_X6_2.4.29_FULL.sbf.zip, I entered MIUI recovery then with that I entered CWM and flashed it. Another question, how do I wipe the data? thanks again
not likely, but if white charging light, next to usb port comes on you should be good

stock recovery http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/Android_Recovery
you need 4.5.608 sbf if you want newest software, that can be rooted http://www.droidknows.com/showthread.php/364-Gingerbread-Full-SBF-4-5-608

Well, I didn't bother making a proper logo so I took the one I use at hisouten.koumakan.jp, another wiki.
Thank you, I now have stock android installed. When I saw battery life after flashing... 90%.
are you on verizon?
if so your phone will, try to update, to 4.5.629, which is fine if you are not interested in rooting, but you can not go back
if you do not want to update you need to root with Pete's root tools, and rename motoblurupdater
if you want to know more just ask, or check out the link in my sig
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
It doesn't matter if you're on VZW or not, stock firmware checks for updates and tries to install them via WiFi/mobile data regardless of your carrier choice.
The files in question to be renamed are
/system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.apk
/system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.odex
I had wondered if the wiki was your work, G.Y.
Thanks for compiling that, it's helped me many times.

Concerns with rooting.

Hey guys I am new to the charge. I really want to root but I have some concerns first. For one I have already replaced this phone twice since I got it. If I un-root it will Verizon notice I rooted it at all? Also how safe is it? I really don't want a $300 paper weight. I rooted my old sch-m828c from straightalk and the phone wouldn't connect to the computer anymore; is that a concern with the charge? As from the last sentence I have experience with odin but my old phone lost the root somehow and i was unable to boot it back to stock. Is the charge better about stuff like that? Please respond with any help. (Best mods, safest methods etc.) Thanks in advance!

All your questions can b answered if you just read the DC development forum posts, everything is there. Just do the research first, read all the posts.that is how I started. I read n reread all the posts for a month, downloaded relevant files made shure I understood what I read n followed the steps to rooting n flashing to the last letter. Never had any problems.

Honestly this phone is super easy. I was able to root with clockwork mod, install a custom kernal and flash a Tom in about two hour and evertlything worked first try and my first time ever doing any of it.
Followvthe instructions carefully and do exactly as they tell you and you should be fine.

[Q] Samsung gt-i9020a (nexus s) wont turn on

Hi, I was trying to root my phone, a Samsung gt- I9020a (nexus s). I was following a tutorial and When attempting to load a recovery img the first time it did not work so I googled this issue and found a few answers. I proceeded to download and load the “ClockworkMod 6 recovery image” onto the phone by following the steps. Now my phone will not turn on even when holding the volume up+power button startup. Is there anything I can do??? Please help.
Is it completely dead? Will it not display a single bit of light on the screen? Or are you stuck in a bootloop

I'm not an expert, but I know enough that if NOThING will power on the phone then it is hard bricked. However, I don't see how what you did could have possibly done it.... even if you mess up the recovery it shouldn't happen.

See if your computer recognizes it. But I think it needs power for that because usually when you're screwed it at least has some form of life and you can connect. Try anyways, are you sure its not a problem with the battery though?

CWM and TWRP Recovery For RAZR HD Developer Edition

Tucstwo made a one click flash. Read below.

Like mentioned in the OP. I made a 1 click for the HD that removes all the necessary files that would over write you custom recovery AND then flashes either CWM or TWRP for you. Just need windows and a phone. No fastboot, no nothing. Just plug in and click.

TWRP will work on any XT926 with an unlocked bootloader.
Download the latest version of TWRP from here: http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/vanquish/
I believe someone has created a tool that will install this for you in a "one-click" fashion. I would recommend that to anyone not really familiar with fastboot or has lesser confidence in using this method.
Here are instructions: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/twrp-and-clocworkmod-cwm-recovery-for-motorola-droid-razr-hd-xt926/ (Ignore the TWRP download links from that article because they may be old.)

Greetings,
I've just moved up to the XT926 from the Droid X2 and I have a basic question concerning use of these recoveries. I flashed a lot of ROMs on the X2 but I knew I always had the battery pull "safety net" available in case of soft brick or boot loops...and I had to make use of it several times.
This is my first "no battery removal" device and since the battery pull is not really an option on the XT926 (well, not without a lot of extra work), I was wondering if its always possible to get the phone booted into one of these recoveries from say a boot loop, or if some other "disaster recovery" method is needed for such events. I'm looking forward to flashing some ROMs on this awesome phone (once they get a bit more stable), but I'd like to know what I might be in for before I start.
If this is a more complicated topic than should be addressed here, I'd be happy to go look at a different forum/posting if someone could point me to it! Thanks in advance for any help!
Ok just to start the recoveries in this thread are for the developer edition only. The safestrap recovery for all the other versions is in the other development section.
To your questions there should be a reset combination for resetting the battery (like pulling it.) Also you should almost always be able to fastboot flash back to stock if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the reply and yes, I have the Dev Edition (I was going to buy @ full retail anyway to preserve my unlimited data on VZW; figured the DE might provide more possibilities down the road for updates once the developer community started working with it).
Good to hear that there are HW methods available to recover. I'll do more google research before I embark on any major changes. Thanks again!
I'm in the same boat as Kevlar. I'm buying at full retail to save my unlimited data. Debating between RAZR HD Dev Edition or the RAZR HD MAXX. My GNEX battery just sucks and so do the radios.
So if I get the Dev edition I can use the CWM or TWRP but they won't work on the MAXX. Only safe strap works?

I've been using the dev HD for two weeks now and the battery is right on par with my old RAZR maxx.
Can someone please answer my noob question.
I've been reading up on flashing ROMs for the RAZR HD but all directions are for the regular RAZR HDs not the Developer Edition so they all talk about Safestrap.
Does the SD card need partitioned if using TWRP or CWM when flashing ROMs onto Developer edition.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I installed TWRP but I think I like CWM better. Is it possible to switch? Just delete all TWRP files and then install CWM?
I tried flashing two ROMs.. CM10 & Vitreous but got errors on both using TWRP. Want to try CWM.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Quick question.
The directions make it clear that renaming recovery.sh is a fairly important step in the process. However, when I went to browse the /system/ect folder I could not find the recovery.sh file. I could find install-recovery.sh however. Is this the same file?
Thank you.
Edit: Got it all worked out and it seems to work flawlessly so far. Thank you for all of the hard work.
If you use TWRP it should rename the file for you like the directions say. If you are in system/etc then yea it should be the same file.
