[Q] PG58IMG - Phone wont recognize?? - HTC Sensation

T-Mobile HTC Sensation-
Hi, so I'm following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298 - I have rooted/flashed a ROM previously, back in December. my current firmware is 3.32. I am attempting to update the firmware to the 3.33, but the zip is just not being recognized when I boot into the bootloader. nothing happens. Ive checked the MD5 and everything checks out. Any ideas?

Hello everyone, Firstly the information on the device itself:

It was originally on H3G UK firmware I believe.
Problem is that it don't load pass the 3 network splash screen. I can get into bootloader. I have tried to flash it with various roms using the recovery. It fails and returns error status (1). I have tried different SD cards also. I have tried to flash using RUU shipped ROMS. The phone is detected as it shows me version and I can update to a higher. I put it into fasboot but RUU doesn't reboot to bootloader and gets stuck on that bit. I cannot select factory reset either or use the function reboot to bootloader when in fastboot. Is my HBOOT corrupt?
Thanks
---------------
Update: Found a ROM which says cannot roll back HBOOT when tried to flash.
Ok after extensive searching I think the eMMC is dead!

(Q) stuck at bootloader

I have been having some issues with flashing to Energy`s newest ICS ROM, and need some help please. I can get into recovery and I can run the PG58 IMG. but when I go to install the ROM (after SUPERWIPE) i get a (status 1) installation aborted message. I have tried anything i can think of and using any info that i have found like wiping the caches, etc. but to no avail. any ideas

Was the firmware version you flashed compatible with the rom that won't boot? If so, do md5's for both downloads check out?
Also, is your CID supported by the firmware you flashed?

Stuck in bootloop

So I was being stupid and didn't read all the instructions while I was trying to flash a PG58IMG for ICS and I think I installed the wrong version for me. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop but I CAN access the recovery and hboot. I don't know what to do now.

Do you have a ics Rom flashed to match the ics firmware? If you still have gb this will put you into bootloop . Flash the ics firmware which is 3.32 or 3.33 then flash the ics Rom. You must remove the pg58img file after you flash Also or it will continue to try to upgrade the file over and over . I hope this helps you.

I'll try flashing 3.33 or 3.32 then flashing the ROM, thanks.
Right now it's stuck at the boot "htc" logo, It's been like this for about 4 mins, is this normal on updating the firmware?
EDIT: It has been about 15 mins now and I recided to go into hboot and the message thing at the top was changed. Now it reads:
*** LOCKED ***

eMMC-boot
and at the end after the "sd checking", it says "Battery voltage is too low! Please change a battery..."
Not sure if has anything to do with my problem, but its worth putting out there.
No this is not normal. Charge your device, update firmware 3.32 or 3.33, now you WILL have a bootloopv if your on a gb Rom, so update to a ics Rom. This should solve the bootloop. When updating with a pg58img file you place it on the root of your sd card, pull battery put battery back in then press power and volume at the same time then press power to accept update it will automatically update .remove the pg58img file at this point or it will continue to try to update. I really hope this helps. Sometimes it takes up to 5 or so minutes for the first boot of a Rom but after that I would say it's too long if you're still waiting. Have you done all these steps? With the correct firmware?are you wiping before your flash? It should work smoothly with these steps? Once your charged go over steps again make sure your not missing a step. Hope this helps

Nevermind, I seem to have fixed it by updating the firmware version, thanks for your help!

keep in mind one thing... you must use matching firmware/rom.. i mean for example
- Firmware 3.33 Universal / (ICS)
- Firmware 1.17 Universal / (GB)
so if you're on ICS you must be on 3.33 fw, that should do the trick
Same Issue Here
Hi Guys! Ths is my first post so I'll try to be as brief and clear as possible. I'm having the same problem with the boot logo, and as far as I try to upgrade I don't get the yes/no option.

Had stock ROM and Rooted Via HTCdev and CWM'd with HTC one X AIo Kit. Phone was working perfectly until I installed ROM Toolkit and decided to change fonts. Afterwards, the phone got stuck on the boot logo, but I can access bootloader and recovery mode via CWM. I can't install PG58IMG even that i have tried several versions, including 3.24, 3.30, 3.32 & 3.33.
When detecting PG58IMG I get this:
SD Checking..........
Loading.....[PG58DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading......[PG58DIAG.nbh]
No Image or wrong image!
Loading.....[PG58IMG.zip]
Parsing.....[PG58IMG.zip]
Then turns back to bootloader menu
Any help will be really appreciated.

I'll be as brief as possible too
While being SON you can't I mean you CAN'T flash a firmware.
Now follow the "flashing roms with SON" guide by asskickar.. In sensation general section of.. To the letter

Seemed to have killed phone

I have spent a week driving myself insane with this phone and now it won't boot and I cannot seem to get is back to factory settings.
I tried to follow guides here for rooting but I could not get them to work.
In the end I used this guide (including the unlock bootloader via htcdev) and it got my phone rooted.
I then thought it would be a great idea to install the viper S rom... It was not. Now the phone will not go past the ht sensation logo on boot and I cannot get the firmware here (phone parses the file and then does nothing on the bootloader), the odexed stock image here or the any other image like this to install.
Please can someone tell me how to get this phone working again?
This whole thing has really stressed me out, I would be really grateful if someone could just give me some simple instructions. An image to flash via clockwork would be great. I have tried for days to do it my self but am starting to go crazy.

the problem is when you are flashing a rom when you are S-ON it has not the ability to flash the boot partition by itself
you have to flash the boot.img of the rom manually or
flash 4ext recovery ,enable smartflash from it and then flash the rom.see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
edit:in order to upgrade your firmware you have to be S-OFF

[Q] Stuck with installing custom rom

Hello,
I'm trying to root my HTC Sensation and install a custom ROM. I've read dozens of thread's and I followed them, as far as I can tell, how it supposed to.
Now I am at the point where I should install the new ROM from my SD card (phone is S-OFF using ControlBear.exe). But that isn't going so well. I can boot in hboot and select recovery, after that the phone reboots and nothing happens. When I regulary boot my phone it stay's in the HTC splash screen...
Is it possible that I removed everything on my phone and cannot recover anymore? And if so, how can I recover from my stupid mistake
