ICS Jeffe Kernal - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Just wanted to share that you can get it to stay at 100Mhz, which gives pretty good battery. I use voltage control to set it the way I want.(ondemandx and deadline with 25 uv) then use NSTools to put it to 100. Recheck it with VC and do it again if necessary. Been doing this a week or so and on Slim ICS it works great, with 23.5 hours on one charge.....

Not trying to say I don't believe you, but FBis251 will probably end up asking the same thing...
Could you post some pics of your uptime from the about screen and battery usage either from better battery stats or the battery usage in the settings screen. I just use ddms to take screenshots.

This is what I got so far

And now....I have 165apps on mounts2sd...so some things stay in the background....

Hope this helps. It's been at 100Mhz for 1h25m06s. It won't show because it keeps moving up to 400 when it snaps they pic.

Do you have really bad coverage? Your radio indicator is 0 bars
You know, it really depends on personal usage. When I could afford a more expensive plan with more data, I did so much with my phone. I was lucky to get >=4h. I mean, I was tethering, listening to music (with bt headset), using gps... all at once, all the time.
Now I'm on a much more limited service, and I don't really use my phone much, and it lasts about 9-10 hours longer.
It really comes down to how you use your phone and what apps/services you have installed.

Yea, I expected that. 100 is an idle mode. Jeff did a really great job getting that stuff to work properly.

99% after ten hours. Went out of the country and didn't have to charge once. You want to save juice? Just put the phone in airplane mode.
i dont really believe the androids built in battery measure.
Maybe a number on how much time the screen was powered on, for reference?

lol...but actually that doesn't matter...it doesnt drain a lot rebooting...it just refreshes the battery stats to show the real value. his phone is saying it's at 99%, but I can assure you it's much much lower than that
Probably was lower than 99%, but it did last a good four days without needing to be charged (in airplane mode the whole time).

99% after 9 hours of battery use, yep i have to agree with you scotsman, it is much lower than that
WiFi can certainly be a hog, as can be GSM signal - especially if it's a weak signal. Display will drain if you keep the display on a LOT(!) - but otherwise that's why you see a lot of folks recommend to turn off WiFi or BT if you're not using 'em.
Wow what a great idea put the PHONE in airplane mode Hello? its a phone people were using them to call and/or text each other.
Want to save gas? Dont drive , just sit in your car and listen to music
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all in advance. No matter if it sucks battery I would prefer to use my phone and keep a charger with me every time. But one should enjoy the features to the full.

Best battery life with trinity or other kernel

Can someone tell me any suggestions to have better battery life with a custom kernel
I'm currently running aokp milestone 4 with trinity and just look at this horrible battery stats

And just by typing this I lost 2 percent
Flash Matr1x to start. See if that helps. Also, look at what apps are running. settings>apps>running. See if anything there is on a lot, and stop it. Turn auto sync off.
I get about 20 hours of decent usage with this setup
every kernel and rom combo is going to perform differently. I find the best way to get the most out of my battery is to calibrate the battery by fully charging, allowing the battery to fully discharge, and then repeating those two steps once or twice more.
You without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes...
download battery calibration app from market, fully charge battery (94 or 95%), then calibrate using the app. Allow your battery to fully discharge (until it shuts itself off), and finally charge your phone completely with it still off. You should notice an amazing enhancement in battery life.

what I do is: (Use NSTools, its easier to make this setups!)
- Use LiveOC on 110%
- Overclock to 1110 Mhz - 200 Mhz
- Activate Deep Idle
- Use Lionheart governor.
Try this and see if it helps.
Turn off GPS and nfc if you're not using it! And wifi if you're not connected to a network, I think that may help something!

How about you tell us your on screen time?
Seems like your phone is on for quite sometime given that is it at 41%. Usually during a normal day mine usually consumes 28% with 2 hours of on screen time.
If you're hitting 4-6 hours of on screen time, that battery stat is NORMAL.
Thank you guys for your suggestion but i think my battery is just too old
im ordering some spare batteries for amazon
Tell me what you think about these

So I downloaded BetterBatteryStats....

I wanted to see how my phone was performing battery wise so I downloaded BBS but Im not sure how to use the info it gives me. So looking at the screenshot below. Is my phone normal or should I make some adjustments. I know that if I leave it off the charger over night I loose approximately 25% not sure how normal that is for Android. Any tips or advice would be be nice

Looks horrible. Phone should spend majority of its time in deep sleep overnight. You should only lose 1% per hour or less. You should check partial and kernel wakelocks too.

Thanks so much for the replies. So since my battery life was not superb. I decided to try a new rom. Synergy, it looks like I am getting more sleep time but my wlan is still up and so is data connection. I also ran kernel and partial wake. Any insight on these reports below?
You can try going into maps settings and make sure report location is unchecked. Also, make sure your GPS is off

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Nokia 6 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

I get about the same but i never use WiFi (have no broadband at home) so i have all that disabled, using 4G T-Mobile LTE only. I don't game though, just GPS navigation, email, text, and browse web and some Netflix and i get about 7hrs of screen time, it doesnt match my Moto X4 or G5 Plus at those are whopping 10hrs screen on in the same usage scenarios.
good battery life. not bad not impressive.
use the device from 10am to 6pm.. always 3g on single sim.. on 4/5hours internet facebook, twitter, gaming etc.. 20-30% left ... on 2/3hours usages 55-70 left..
example today i left home at 90% at 1pm.. used it like 1.5 to 2 hours internet(data remain always on 3g even if i dont use) at 4.30pm it was at 70% i came back home at 7pm.. with 60%+ i used around 45minits in between 5-7pm.
I played asphalt 8 (max settings in tokyo) for 40 minutes, and it dropped the battery about 14%. So as I calculated it takes 285.7142857142857 minutes to discharge the phone from 100% to 0%, it means 4 Hours and 46 Minutes! we can play the game straightly.. and accubattery shows we can keep the phone roughly 8 hours with screen on with some gaming, browsing.
Netlat's calculations correspond with my personal usage. :highfive:
5-8 hours of on-screen full usage. Can last a handful of days with lighter usage. Not bad for it's 3,000 mAh battery size.

Question Anyone already debloated his Phone?

I asked myself, if debloating the P7P is worth to increase Smoothness and Battery Consumption and get rid off the Bloatware.
Any Advices?
I haven't disabled or uninstalled any of the apps that came with the phone and the phone is really smooth and I am getting really good battery. My overnight idle drain last night (9 hrs) was .45%/hr and it sits now at .53%/hr.

I wish my standby was that low. I'm at 1.1%/hr right now. Not in a super strong signal area though.
It's a Google phone. Not much to debloat, is there?

Nope. That's one reason people get Pixels
I uninstalled a couple of apps I will not use, and was only able to disable one or two more. But if you really need to you can use ADB, or a GUI app utilizing ADB to do the same. Remember that in most circumstances when you "delete" an app it is really not deleted but just made unavailable to user number 0 (zero) which is the main user = you!

Debloating a pixel for smoothness and better battery life? Ugh... This isn't the early 2000's dude. Placebo is awesome though.
