99% after ten hours. Went out of the country and didn't have to charge once. You want to save juice? Just put the phone in airplane mode.

i dont really believe the androids built in battery measure.

Maybe a number on how much time the screen was powered on, for reference?

Reboot the phone and watch it drop to 50%

lol...but actually that doesn't matter...it doesnt drain a lot rebooting...it just refreshes the battery stats to show the real value. his phone is saying it's at 99%, but I can assure you it's much much lower than that

Probably was lower than 99%, but it did last a good four days without needing to be charged (in airplane mode the whole time).

99% after 9 hours of battery use, yep i have to agree with you scotsman, it is much lower than that

WiFi can certainly be a hog, as can be GSM signal - especially if it's a weak signal. Display will drain if you keep the display on a LOT(!) - but otherwise that's why you see a lot of folks recommend to turn off WiFi or BT if you're not using 'em.

Wow what a great idea put the PHONE in airplane mode Hello? its a phone people were using them to call and/or text each other.
Want to save gas? Dont drive , just sit in your car and listen to music

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all in advance. No matter if it sucks battery I would prefer to use my phone and keep a charger with me every time. But one should enjoy the features to the full.

CM10 battery drain spike

Sorry for not posting this in the CM10 thread; this is my first post and I'm not allowed to comment in the dev forum yet.
I installed CM10 (after having used CM9 successfully for a month or two) from this thread (the 8/9 build) last night.
Everything more or less works fine, but I was playing with the torch app for about 5 seconds when my phone went from ~60% charged to off:

I don't actually think it was the torch app that sucked all of the power (the "battery" section of the settings says almost all of it went toward the screen) as I tried to repro it by using the torch app again and it doesn't make a dent in the power. No games or web browsing was happening.
I'm not so much looking for a solution as I am interested in posting this as a kind of bug report, since the ROM is in early alpha. If there's anything I can do to provide more information, I would be happy to do so.
yea. h8rift is working on these wakelocks. if you look at the time "awake" it is awake even when the screen is off. gps and nfc have been thought to be the culprits. but yea all of us are having the same issues.

I see that it was awake a lot, but it's the sudden spike toward zero that seemed really odd to me. I was using it at the time and it dropped so quickly that, by the time it told me to plug it in, it was already at zero.

yea i experienced the same thing, except from 82 percent to about 71. just overall the battery readings and management on cm10 so far are whack.

So I downloaded BetterBatteryStats....

I wanted to see how my phone was performing battery wise so I downloaded BBS but Im not sure how to use the info it gives me. So looking at the screenshot below. Is my phone normal or should I make some adjustments. I know that if I leave it off the charger over night I loose approximately 25% not sure how normal that is for Android. Any tips or advice would be be nice

Looks horrible. Phone should spend majority of its time in deep sleep overnight. You should only lose 1% per hour or less. You should check partial and kernel wakelocks too.

You might as well put it in airplane mode since you have no signal at night.

Thanks so much for the replies. So since my battery life was not superb. I decided to try a new rom. Synergy, it looks like I am getting more sleep time but my wlan is still up and so is data connection. I also ran kernel and partial wake. Any insight on these reports below?
You can try going into maps settings and make sure report location is unchecked. Also, make sure your GPS is off

ICS Jeffe Kernal

Just wanted to share that you can get it to stay at 100Mhz, which gives pretty good battery. I use voltage control to set it the way I want.(ondemandx and deadline with 25 uv) then use NSTools to put it to 100. Recheck it with VC and do it again if necessary. Been doing this a week or so and on Slim ICS it works great, with 23.5 hours on one charge.....
Not trying to say I don't believe you, but FBis251 will probably end up asking the same thing...
Could you post some pics of your uptime from the about screen and battery usage either from better battery stats or the battery usage in the settings screen. I just use ddms to take screenshots.
This is what I got so far

And now....I have 165apps on mounts2sd...so some things stay in the background....
Hope this helps. It's been at 100Mhz for 1h25m06s. It won't show because it keeps moving up to 400 when it snaps they pic.

Do you have really bad coverage? Your radio indicator is 0 bars
You know, it really depends on personal usage. When I could afford a more expensive plan with more data, I did so much with my phone. I was lucky to get >=4h. I mean, I was tethering, listening to music (with bt headset), using gps... all at once, all the time.
Now I'm on a much more limited service, and I don't really use my phone much, and it lasts about 9-10 hours longer.
It really comes down to how you use your phone and what apps/services you have installed.

Yea, I expected that. 100 is an idle mode. Jeff did a really great job getting that stuff to work properly.
WHERE ARE YOU JEFFSF!?!?!

[Q] Battery life

Can you guys try this?
Set your screen to auto brightness.
Use your phone - web browsing. Now take note of your battery percentage (I use battery dr. so the percentage is on the top of the screen).
When the percentage changes - start timing. Browse primarily white web pages (news etc...).
Time how long before the percentage changes.
Mine is somewhere around 3 minutes (or slightly less). That makes it run around 5 hours (300/60) if it's consistent.
Is this what you guys are getting??? I just put in a new battery and to be honest it seems just like the older battery.
Thanks!!!!
I seem to be consuming 25% of battery in a hour of web browsing (stock battery). So, if you've upgraded to the 2100 mAh One X's battery, everything looks correct.
Thank you. I can't believe how fast this phone burns through the battery. GPS is a killer drain too.
Amazing how many programs start running as well without starting them (Battery Doctor shows me apps using battery).
Oh well.
You have the 2100 mAh battery, don't you?
Yes browsing drains the battery pretty fast. This happens on every smartphone,.though.
About the thousands apps automatically starting, most of them don't drain anything at all, it's not their fault.
try to change browser

No, I have a brand new OEM battery. I'm not sure but I think it's due to the AMOLED screen which just burns through battery when displaying white.
Not every phone burns through battery this fast. The One S is one of the worst. See this pict:

Terrible idle battery drain!

I have a terrible battery drain when my phone is idle. Tried everything, but nothing solved it. Ever since Lollipop I have this issue.
Clean flashed MM and still nop. Flashed ElementalX 6.04 yesterday which still couldn't solve it. This is frustrating :crying::crying:
I have disabled everything too. No Wifi, data, bluetooth, location...etc (My phone is not a smart phone anymore)
Only adaptive brightness is enabled.
Yesterday I fully charged and went to sleep to find out it has drained 28% after a 7 hours sleep. Removed all the unpopular apps (suspicious apps) as well. BetterBatteryStatus says my phone has been in DEEP SLEEP throughout the whole time too.
Please give me a solution

How old is your phone?? You might need to replace the battery. Especially you've already done everything from kernel, to clean flash to disabling apps and settings
your bstats also tells no abnormality? how about its partial wakelocks? can you post those so we can check it out?

According to BBS my phone has been in deep sleep throughout the whole time. I'm assuming its the battery, I need to replace it may be.
I charged my phone again. I will post partial wakelocks too in few hours time.
Thanks alot
Even though it may not make a huge difference but you can try draining the battery out to 0 (until the phone can't stay on even after a force power on) and a full charge (30 mins to an hour overcharging after you see full battery indicator).. Gluck.
I replaced my battery, I was getting hard reboots as well. But wow with a new battery and marshmallow my nexus is like a new device.
99% no or unknown signal.
That could be the cause of your drain, when the phone has no signal or poor signal it will use a lot of battery to keep the connection alive. Set aeroplane mode on
