I get about the same but i never use WiFi (have no broadband at home) so i have all that disabled, using 4G T-Mobile LTE only. I don't game though, just GPS navigation, email, text, and browse web and some Netflix and i get about 7hrs of screen time, it doesnt match my Moto X4 or G5 Plus at those are whopping 10hrs screen on in the same usage scenarios.

good battery life. not bad not impressive.
use the device from 10am to 6pm.. always 3g on single sim.. on 4/5hours internet facebook, twitter, gaming etc.. 20-30% left ... on 2/3hours usages 55-70 left..
example today i left home at 90% at 1pm.. used it like 1.5 to 2 hours internet(data remain always on 3g even if i dont use) at 4.30pm it was at 70% i came back home at 7pm.. with 60%+ i used around 45minits in between 5-7pm.

I played asphalt 8 (max settings in tokyo) for 40 minutes, and it dropped the battery about 14%. So as I calculated it takes 285.7142857142857 minutes to discharge the phone from 100% to 0%, it means 4 Hours and 46 Minutes! we can play the game straightly.. and accubattery shows we can keep the phone roughly 8 hours with screen on with some gaming, browsing.

Netlat's calculations correspond with my personal usage. :highfive:
5-8 hours of on-screen full usage. Can last a handful of days with lighter usage. Not bad for it's 3,000 mAh battery size.

[Q] Gallery app in background possible for battery drain?

Details on my phone (just in case you want them):
-Device is on Weapon G2x 2.4 ROM
-Using JuiceDefender free
-Just got the device on the 26th of this month
-Background data is on, but as far as I know, no apps are on push notifications except for WhatsApp
-The only thing on auto sync my main gmail account, and Sync Gmail is the only item checked.
So this morning after I unplugged my phone, I stayed on 100% for about 1 hour and 10 minutes until I received a phone call (which was only 1 minute) then the battery finally dropped down to 99%.
So I thought cool, on idle I get around an hour before the percentage drops. Then I browse for about 15 minutes, then about 2 hours after that I send an MMS after looking at a picture in the Gallery app. So I put the phone down after noting in my head the percentage.
About 20 minutes later, I check my screen and see that the percentage dropped by 1%. Really weird. I didn't think too much about it but wish it wouldn't drop so fast. Then after another 15-20 or so minutes it drops 1% again. I'm not getting that 1% per ~1 hour drop rate on idle. I look into Battery use and see the Gallery app at the very top. Here's a picture of it:

*TLDR* - Was getting a 1% drop of battery life per ~1 hour of idling, went into Gallery app to send an MMS, then started getting 1% drop of battery life per 15-20 minutes of idling.
Really odd. Could the Gallery app being in the background be the reason for this weird battery drainage I'm experiencing? Or am I being too picky? Hahah. Thanks for reading and thanks for your input in advance. I do thank posts.
I think ur watching ur phone too closely cuz its new. I was doing that too. The battery is fine but using 4g+screen indeed drains the battery fairly quick.
Also remember that battery readings aren't always 1100% accurate, so it could drop 5% in a minute and then stay there for 2 hours

Cool thanks! I am probably getting crazy on checking my phone battery haha. Alright, sounds good. I wonder why they're not always accurate.
Bumping an old thread, but this is happening with mine also, if I open the gallery or camera for anything they are at the top of the list for battery usage all day. Do they stay on in the background and drain the battery?
From what I've seen it is a bug I'm the battery reporting stats.

99% after ten hours. Went out of the country and didn't have to charge once. You want to save juice? Just put the phone in airplane mode.
i dont really believe the androids built in battery measure.
Maybe a number on how much time the screen was powered on, for reference?

lol...but actually that doesn't matter...it doesnt drain a lot rebooting...it just refreshes the battery stats to show the real value. his phone is saying it's at 99%, but I can assure you it's much much lower than that
Probably was lower than 99%, but it did last a good four days without needing to be charged (in airplane mode the whole time).

99% after 9 hours of battery use, yep i have to agree with you scotsman, it is much lower than that
WiFi can certainly be a hog, as can be GSM signal - especially if it's a weak signal. Display will drain if you keep the display on a LOT(!) - but otherwise that's why you see a lot of folks recommend to turn off WiFi or BT if you're not using 'em.
Wow what a great idea put the PHONE in airplane mode Hello? its a phone people were using them to call and/or text each other.
Want to save gas? Dont drive , just sit in your car and listen to music
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all in advance. No matter if it sucks battery I would prefer to use my phone and keep a charger with me every time. But one should enjoy the features to the full.

This isn't right surely my phone gets way too hot as well and I'm only browsing social media so far I'm really not impressed with this phone as my sms texts crash too and I can't delete conversation or it takes way too long to open a conversation.
In the first screenshot what is your screen time?

Probably not even an hour mate, it's ridiculous
Strange... Your phone came with Android 5.0.2 preinstalled? Now I see you're using 4g ... For example now I have 54% batterry with 2h 40 (music, web browsing on 3g+). I heard the Android 5 is a major battery drainer (especially if you re staying on 4g). Try to make a few full discharge/recharge cycles or try a hard reset.
For example I don't have a battery problem even that I'm running Android 5. But I've manually flashed it( from Android 4.4.4) . This is my usage for today:
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Ahh I see well I'm running the 5.04 I think, I can't update the software so im presuming it is the latest one, and sync where would I find this? Sorry I'm new to androids. You see yours is on about 50% and you can still get 10hours+ mine is on 67% at the moment and it's saying it won't last another 4 hours. I think I'll let it run completely dead them put it on charge
Settings->Accouts-> and uncheck auto-sync data. And about battery predictions they are not so accurate,at least at the first 1-2 weeks... Trust me this is a great phone in matter of battery just give it time. With proper settings and medium usage(4 h 30m screen time) you can get something like this:
This is my usage data that I had 2 weeks ago . Medium usage, web browsing,fb and some pictures .
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Ah I see, that's the dream right there lol. This is the second day im using it, it's lasted longer then it did yesterday but it's nowhere near yours lol. I really hope it adjusts it's self by the end of the week.
Also do you find you're phone becomes warm to hot just browsing the Web?!
Depends... On chrome after 20-30 min but I also listen music and it's not that hot . Also it's summer and the screen stays almost at maximum light and that heats it up too .

Question about AOD on SGS 6

Hi everyone,
I hope I didn´t post this in wrong part of forum
Today I found out about AOD service when browsing on Sammobile.com apk directory ( http://www.sammobile.com/apk/aodservice/ )
In description it says that one version it is for SGS 7 and 6 but whenever I installed it it keep crashing
Where ever I searched, I couldn´t find any information about this service or thoes it work somehow on SGS 6
I hope someone here could know something more?
Thanks
It works with Noble rom and the tn2009 Kernel. But trust me, it sucks way too much battery!
So, it´s not possible to run it on stock ROM? I don´t mind if it uses more battery
I looked everywhere to find any information about this AOD service but nothing
I hoped it would work because Samsung released and it says SGS 7 and 6
Anybody knows will Samsung give it in Nougat update maybe?
Use tn2009 ROM and TN kernel to use AOD
Doesn't use that much battery, since s6 already has a pretty bad battery life lol

you are kidding?
9 hours with AOD on at work time, 40% battery left with always 4G/WIFI, BT on, phone calls, ~1:3hour SOT. 9*5=45%, so how could it be?
I'm with AOD from first release day

You loose 5% per hour on ports. Trust me
I can confirm 5% drain/h on Note 7 port. But it's a nice feature, for now I think it's worth the drain. As long as there's a charger near by.

First photo without AOD, 4G, WIFI, BT on, phone call, till 17 h.
Second photo with AOD (8hours), 4G, WIFI, BT on, phone call, till 16 h. Ok, at 17h could be 50%. 60%-50% = 10%, so, where is 5% drain per hours for AOD?
Well, turn on AOD. Leave screen of 1h. Takes 5%.
Turn of AOD. Leave screen of 1h. Takes 1-2%.
Easy.
Noble Note 7 port, tn_2009 kernel - 2% on 30 mins so 4% per hour...

General Please post your Accubattery stats for 7 series

I know that it could be a little early to do this, but it would be interesting to gather some info and then compare it after a week to check if adaptive battery really kicked in.
My unit is already delivered, but I'll be able to get it in my hands on Wednesday, but after that certainly I am going to post some data.

Not sure what numbers you're lookin' for, but here's part of mine just since yesterday when I rooted and reinstalled everything.

Terribly disappointed so far...
It's definitely too early to be definitive but I don't have any complaints about my 7 Pro as it stands now. Screen off is high because I'm in a low signal area (the basement at my partner's place) and I actually think it's less than my OnePlus 9 was in the same location.

Are you on data or wifi for most of this usage? Do you have everything turn on like AOD, 5g...?
I don't use Accubattery, don't like the UI. Here are mine from yesterday in GSam, which have been pretty typical in my first week of owning the phone.
Here's my 7 pro, i was like 90% on wifi.
Mostly browsing reddit, some camera use and maybe 30mins of gaming.
Adaptative battery charging is weird, but does the job (it's working even you disable it in settings). Charging limit -> 75%. Current estimate is 97% based on 21% charged. Current battery wear since arrived =0.93 cycles => 353% charged summary.
For comparison my op nord (1) based on 27months of monitoring battery wear. (Charged_limit = 80% since 1st day)
ps. satisfacted with this upgrade af - p7p brick.. i have waited for you so long till now \_(^^)_/

I can't seem to get GSAM to work after doing the ADB command to get more stats. How did you get yours to work?
Starting third day with P7 Pro, numbers are going up.
Idle drain better than on P6, screen on worse, on P6 had 7-8% drain per hour on Wi-Fi, but P7P is draining 10-12% with same brightness.

I just installed it normally, didn't touch adb.
After 8 days, mostly Wi-Fi, 120hz, 1440p, adaptive brightness, GPS, bluetooth 24/7 with GW4:

posting these without the settings people have is pretty useless btw.
My accubattery says I should expect 8 1/2 hours of SoT but I'm getting less than 4 today with normal usage 95% on wifi. Doesn't seem to mean much. 1440p, 120hz, auto brightness on.
95% WiFi usage
1080p
Smooth Display off (60hz)
Auto brightness on
