Possible future mod? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

This is not meant for our phones but has anyone ever tried this mod maybe with another phone?

Well, since it's designed to use up more of the internal storage, and one of the issues our phone has is not nearly enough internal storage...
I suggest using something like Direct Inject Turbo instead.

Thanks for the suggestion. Really helped out on cMIUI and freed up a lot of ram

Forgive me

OK so I used to use an app on all my old androids that helped out by relocating sd card space as ram. Now my friend is bringing me a sk4g to root and such and I can't for the life of me remember what that app is. Any one remember what it is or know an app like it or am I going crazy in my old age....

SD Maid - system cleaning tool

Great app I found and tried.
Reminds me of windows 'registry cleaner".

haha i used to have this, then forgot about it, thanks for reminding me, it really does work!
Great app. Thanks!
Wow! I can really see a difference after using this! Very nice! Helped fix some problems I was having with the playstore.
Yeah, it found and removed 18 (!) apps corpse in my "basement"...
A fantastic find, thanks!
Reminds me of CCleaner for Windows.
Thanks!
I found it's quite useful as clean up to ~20 MB trash data (or so) on my SD card @@ bravo

You can also use 'History Eraser' for such purposes on a regular basis.

So, is it safe to delete everything it suggests to delete?

I let it do what it wants. Everything is still fine

No rom space?

I have noticed that my Xoom it's running a Lil slow. I don't have more Rom space 0 MB this affect the performance of my Xoom? Thanks!!!

Which ROM?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
System ROM space doesn't affect performance at all. It's running slow is probably due to the fact you may have too much programs running in the background or cached. So you probably don't have enough RAM.
CM10!!

If he is using the newest EOS4 ROM, then I would suggest reverting to an older EOS3 ROM because some other people and I have had some lag issues with the current EOS4 builds. I'm chalking it up to being early nightlies.

I'm looking to erase unnecessary things from the system. I just erase Ringtones folder because I never use those and ending getting like 8MB free xD

I just moved some apps to SDcard and the system seems a little bit smooth

You could get rid of some videos android has, I believe it's in system/media/
Yeah it could be that as well, internal storage being bottlenecked due to the apps installed internally.

Found a way to move app data to sd card..

Worked for me, does this help anyone?

Doesn't work for need for speed mw. I'm guessing it will work on small apps or games that don't need additional files. Hopefully will save me a bit of space until I have an easy option for rooting.

I'll try it again but it moved all the data then when I launched it, I was being prompted to download all the data.

Didn't work for me either. Nfs wants to download again.

You will also have to start from scratch if you want to update the app in the market. Google only wants app content in the internal storage to avoid customer complaints due to swapping cards or using bad cards and wondering why the app vanished or does not work. It was also due to security. Not my words, but the Android team at their dev forums.

Looks awesome.... Does bluetooth works on the new baseband?
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
Probably not, i used the latest nightly. I dont use Bluetooth so i really dont know. Mostly themed.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Can you be able to make a rom with working bluetooth it can be stock as well with ics/jb theme. I use stock with custom kernel now. Only thing I want to add to it is ics theme. I don't want to use anything from market as it takes more memory.
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
Sorry dont think i can. Have not been on stock since they updated to new baseband. And only stayed on that until i was able to reroot. Couldnt find any stock themes besides launcher themes. Theres an app called ninjamorph where u can change things but u must be real carefull. I watched and read many things on it before i used it. Most stuff i do is directly on my phone by zipping and unzipping different roms and seeing what works. Biggest problem with this phone is everyone is so concerned with ics or jb. And getting that to work would be great but until then we should create new roms with a more up to date ui. This phone is pretty quick and can do lots of cool stuff and why pay $600 for a new phone when this one still works fine. Had mine almost 2 1/2 years
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Also if im not mistaken if u roll your phone back to the previous baseband i believe bluetooth works on cm7. I could totally be wrong and i couldnt even begin to tell u how to do that
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Do you know how to roll back to old baseband? I would definitely do that because I like to use this phone and your exactly right why get different phone when we already have one that needs to have so adjustments to it.
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180331 try that
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Make sure u read! Follow instructions to a T. Ive never rolled back so im not to sure what to expect
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
yeah....definitely do your studying before trying to roll back.
This is a great rom!!! Thanks for your job
