Forgive me - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

OK so I used to use an app on all my old androids that helped out by relocating sd card space as ram. Now my friend is bringing me a sk4g to root and such and I can't for the life of me remember what that app is. Any one remember what it is or know an app like it or am I going crazy in my old age....

SD Card Full

What is the best method to cleaning up my sd card and getting rid of useless stuff I don't need. I've got an 8gb with no music and not a lot of pics but only have about 200 mbs left.

Plug it into your computer and clean away. do you have several cwm backups? Clear some out.

Exactly what he said. CWM backups take up a lot of room. They are around 400-500mb for a non-sense rom and 700+mb for a sense rom. You can find them under clockworkmod/backup.

Try DiskUsage app. It has an intuative interface to see what is on your card and if bloat easily delete it.

Yeah it's a neat thing to have. And free I believe. And SU permissions too.

Worked for me, I dont really need the space since i have a 32gb card, but I just installed that Diskusage app and it's awesome!
The link doesn't work for everyone, but search the market. It's easy enough to find.

apps to sd card?

Why can't we move apps to eternal sd on Xoom ?
Because you don't need to. You have 28GB of storage space for apps and other files and I doubt you have more than 2GB of apps and need space for more.

I Have 10.75GB of apps. I'm a bit of an app hoarder.
Good thing you have 32gb internal storage then.

Great app. Thanks!
Wow! I can really see a difference after using this! Very nice! Helped fix some problems I was having with the playstore.
Yeah, it found and removed 18 (!) apps corpse in my "basement"...
A fantastic find, thanks!
Reminds me of CCleaner for Windows.
Thanks!
I found it's quite useful as clean up to ~20 MB trash data (or so) on my SD card @@ bravo

You can also use 'History Eraser' for such purposes on a regular basis.

Doesn't work for need for speed mw. I'm guessing it will work on small apps or games that don't need additional files. Hopefully will save me a bit of space until I have an easy option for rooting.

I'll try it again but it moved all the data then when I launched it, I was being prompted to download all the data.

Didn't work for me either. Nfs wants to download again.

You will also have to start from scratch if you want to update the app in the market. Google only wants app content in the internal storage to avoid customer complaints due to swapping cards or using bad cards and wondering why the app vanished or does not work. It was also due to security. Not my words, but the Android team at their dev forums.

Possible future mod?

This is not meant for our phones but has anyone ever tried this mod maybe with another phone?

Well, since it's designed to use up more of the internal storage, and one of the issues our phone has is not nearly enough internal storage...
I suggest using something like Direct Inject Turbo instead.
Thanks for the suggestion. Really helped out on cMIUI and freed up a lot of ram
