Which ROM?

System ROM space doesn't affect performance at all. It's running slow is probably due to the fact you may have too much programs running in the background or cached. So you probably don't have enough RAM.
CM10!!

If he is using the newest EOS4 ROM, then I would suggest reverting to an older EOS3 ROM because some other people and I have had some lag issues with the current EOS4 builds. I'm chalking it up to being early nightlies.

I'm looking to erase unnecessary things from the system. I just erase Ringtones folder because I never use those and ending getting like 8MB free xD

I just moved some apps to SDcard and the system seems a little bit smooth

You could get rid of some videos android has, I believe it's in system/media/
Yeah it could be that as well, internal storage being bottlenecked due to the apps installed internally.

How is performance? Just trying to figure out if lag is common on both if you do a lot of switching between apps.

I can't remember if you said you had tried ADW EX...that got rid of any residual lag I may have experienced. It's truly smooth as butter.
No I have not. It just seems after a few hrs of browsing, YouTube, and whatever else it starts to slow down. I am just wondering if it is the same on stock.

Other than rom kinks what are some hardware problems with the sgs 4g

Depends on who you ask. Mine didn't have any stock out of the box. Some people had GPS problems.

GPS is notoriously flakey
Poor design tradeoffs, in my opinion include:
The choice to have only a 1 GB internal flash was very limiting (only a fraction available to user programs and data), especially with the as-shipped fota bloat
No flash for the camera (and mediocre camera performance compared to its peers)
This phone was amazing for me right out of the box, wasn't thrilled with camera and storage as listed earlier. But my big complaint was when I went from froyo to gingerbread via kies everything would force close and it lagged everything down, but finding this amazing forum and rooting and flashing custom roms fixed everything. Been very pleased with my phone ever since.

Only problem I feel was a flaw is the 2gig internal memory....even the vibrant which is the predecessor to this has 16 gig internal
The cameras, just terrible

My bad...
I came from the almighty mytouch 4g slide. So everything to me is a great down fall. The only thing I really like about this phone is the size and speedyness of it but I miss my dual core processor I just didn't feel like getting a new one and this was free.

Hey folks,
I have a bad problem with my ram, i've already uninstalled most of my apps (pre-installed apps too). Its always full and thats why my phone is very often kinda laggy

Worked for me, does this help anyone?

Doesn't work for need for speed mw. I'm guessing it will work on small apps or games that don't need additional files. Hopefully will save me a bit of space until I have an easy option for rooting.

I'll try it again but it moved all the data then when I launched it, I was being prompted to download all the data.

Didn't work for me either. Nfs wants to download again.

You will also have to start from scratch if you want to update the app in the market. Google only wants app content in the internal storage to avoid customer complaints due to swapping cards or using bad cards and wondering why the app vanished or does not work. It was also due to security. Not my words, but the Android team at their dev forums.
This is not meant for our phones but has anyone ever tried this mod maybe with another phone?

Well, since it's designed to use up more of the internal storage, and one of the issues our phone has is not nearly enough internal storage...
I suggest using something like Direct Inject Turbo instead.
Thanks for the suggestion. Really helped out on cMIUI and freed up a lot of ram
