In CWM are you wiping data/factory, cache, delvik cache before flashing? And fixing permissions after flash.

Yes I did

[Q] Htc chacha stuck on boot screen

My ChaCha is stuck at HTC boot screen. i have done factory reset, battery pulls and installing ROMS to no avail. I keep getting errors while trying to install the stock ROMS. Am I going about it the right way, trying to find ROMs or Is there something else I can do to solve this problem.

Yes, I have root and can boot to recovery. I already tried clearing the dalvik cache and factory reset. i also restored from a Nandroid backup, all this to no avail. The boot loop problem still persist.
i also tried flashing ROM but all the ROMs i got gives one error or the other. I really need help.

LG p500 bricked due to multiple flash

First of all I'm new to this forum.I've not find any specific ans to my issue so I'm creating this thread.I've installed custom ROM Oxygen,Franco Kernel to my LGp500 through clockwork MOD recovery. It was working perfectly.
Now the prob is that with my over enthusiasm of flashing and testing new things.I've flashed the same ROM thrice and kernel twice(such an idiot I'm).Now My Phone has become unresponsive or bricked(in tech jargon). When I switch on the phone Its showing LG logo but after that it freezes out there,No key is working, nothing is booting,I've tried several time but it ends up same thing. So to end up the process I was removing battery everytime. Though with power+home+vol(-) clockworkmod working fine.
PLz plz help..I've no other phone to use..
Clear your cache, davlik (in advanced) and then try again.

Do you have a nandroid to restore from? If you don't, try wiping everything (data, cache, and dalvik) and just flash the ROM, and reboot.
It sounds like you've soft bricked your phone and i've done it many times myself. Simple fix, just clear all cache, format everything and do a fresh flash of rom.
I don't see that you have answered yet. Did you get it to boot after clearing data as well?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA

Thanks its working after fresh install.
Glad to see its working now, make sure to do a nandroid backup incase you break something again

EVO LTE problem on install of custom ROM

I unlocked my bootloader, installed twrp recovery, and rooted obviously. I then backed up and installed the 9-6-12 build of CM10 nightlies for Evo lte from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851912
Before installing I did a factory reset/wiped caches,
Now it boots up and gets past the HTC logo but then it just goes to a backlit black screen indefinitely. I left it for 30 minutes in case it was just booting really slowly.
Does anyone know what could be going on? I really want to try CM10.
I will give so many thanks to anyone who helps!

Try another clean install. You could also try wiping the dalvik cache after flashing (before rebooting).

You could try flashing with a different recovery (if available for your device).

I don't know why it would be a recovery problem but I guess I could try it if all else fails. You both get some thanks for help =)

[Q] Questions regarding liquidsmooth

Hi all,
Over the past few days I have been using this splendid ROM, however something went wrong during the flashing of the ROM or I missed something, because all of my apps keep crashing and my stock browser app crashes everytime I use it. And I also get random reboots. I think it's the boot.img, but i'm tired of trying
I installed this rom in the Following order:
1. Wipe cache
2. Factory reset
3. Wipe dalvik cache
4. Flash the ROM
5. Rebooted into fastboot
6. Fasboot flash boot boot.img
And I also tried it in this order:
1. Fasboot flash boot boot.img
2. Wipe cache
3. Factory reset
4. Wipe dalvik cache
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot
What am I doing wrong here?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Adding some extra info just incase:
I came from stock sense 4.1+ android 4.1.1
Current device info:
UNLOCKED
S-ON
Hboot version 2.15.0000
Radio 1.11.50.05.28
I also tried redownloading the zip, but got the same result
At last i'm wondering if there are any specific kernels available for this ROM, and which 1 you guys recommend.
Thanks in advance!
In TWRP you want to factory reset then wipe system and then flash the rom and see if that works for you.

Ok ty, will try and see if that will sort it all out
Sadly, same story... :crying::crying::crying::crying: Is installation of the rom supposed to happen in 30 seconds?

Em not sure but sounds a bit to quick. Get yourself 2.3.3.0 of TWRP and try with that and if its still being quick then do the wipes like I said but reboot but back into the recovery then flash the rom.
nevermind cheered too early... Seriously something is corrupting my phone
Maybe you have a bad download, try redownloading and flash.

Touch Screen Calibration Messed Up After Flashing ROM on Wrong Firmware

I'll try to remember the steps of what happened as best I can.
T989 All Stock Running Gingerbread (Not sure what Firmware)
1)Installed CWM via ODIN
2)nstalled SuperUser via CWM
3)Installed latest AOKP from here http://aokp.co/devices/hercules
Booted up just fine but two problems
1: No Service
2: Touch screen calibration was WAY OFF
BYAM DURP OOPS
Realized that I needed to get the latest Firmware before flashing the latest AOKP!
4)Full Wipe(I think?)
5)Install latest Firmware (T989UVMC6, right?) (Also did a factory reset/wipe)
Phone boots into Stock with latest firmware, however the touch screen is still calibrated way off!
Do steps 1-3 above again.
Touch screen calibration is still way off!
My only guess on the reason/fix for this is that maybe this is still some lingering problem of flashing the ROM on the outdated firmware, so I need to perform some sort of deeper wipe than just a Full Wipe via ClockWorkMod in order to get rid of any lingering problems. And then flash the latest firmware, and do steps 1-3 above.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Any other information needed?
Thanks in advance!

I've done wipes like this
Via CWM I do the Factory Reset/Full wipe, then cache and dalvik cache.
Is there a way to more deeply wipe?
I saw in some other places that you can mount some locations and also wipe those too, I assume maybe doing that will result in a "fuller" wipe and also wipe the firmware too?
Care to explain exactly how I should be wiping?
Also after doing the wipe, do I just flash latest firmware, install CWM/root, and then a ROM?
Thanks

First,
Go to CWM
and go to mounts&stroage
then format everything except /sdcard
.
.
then flash latest Firmware.
then do whatever u like
like root, cwm or flash custom rom

So without a doubt I can wipe/format everything except SD Card and just flash a firmware via ODIN and be just fine?
Just double checking because it sounds scary to wipe/format so many things!

Formatted data, system, cache, and emmc.
Did Factory Wipe/Reset, Wiped cache and Dalvik cache.
Used ODIN to flash T989UVMC6, and still the touch screen is not calibrated properly.
However (I've seen other people report that problem but haven't seen a fix) when the phone is plugged in, it works just fine, but whenever it is unplugged the touch screen very unusable due to being calibrated so wrong. :/ After wiping and formatting everything and flashing a stock Firmware I'm all out of hope now!

My Oukitel's k4000 Touch Screen Calibration Messed Up After Flashing ROM on Wrong ROM
Hello,
Please help me. I tried to see if a ROM for 'Oukitel k4000 pro' could fit 'Oukitel k4000'.
Since it didn't work out, I flashed back to the original ROM of 'Oukitel k4000', but since then, my screen behaves wrongly to touches.
Could anyone faced and managed to beat this issue?
I saw several different posts on the net, but none of them actually helped me.
One more thing:
Please try to explain, as if you explaining a child, since my android experience is not that vast to follow all the shortcuts and proffecional terms.
Thank you,
Michael
