Best combination of Rom&kernel&settings[for Noobs]*NEW* - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hello Noobs,
I you are confused about which rom to chose?which kernel to install? and which settings to set? here is the best thread to check!
This combination of rom&kernel&settings will:
Boost your CPU performance.
Free more ram.
reduce lag while gaming and multitasking.
saves battery.
So lets start
I- Installing DDMF1:
Download XXKPE from here (thanks to kkrraazzyy).
Make clean install by following the instructions in this thread (thanks to Misledz) .
Download DDMF1 from here (thanks to karthik gowtham for the link).
Install DDMF1 by following the value pack instructions.
II- Installing BAM kernel (best battery saver for DDMF1):
Download PDA_BCK_CF-root_universal_beta14fix.tar from here(thanks to XDA_Bam for his kernel).
Install it using Odin3 v1.85 only in download mode as PDA.
III- Boosting your CPU performance:
Download No-frills CPU Control CLASSIC from the market.
Open No-frills CPU Control CLASSIC and set governor to ondemand and set I/O scheduler to deadline.
Overclock to 1.2 GHz to play heavy games.
Check "Apply on boot"
IV- Free more ram:
use swapper 2 to create a swap file/partition (64 Mb recommended ) and check safe mount and safe unmount and run swapper at startup or you could use the stock task manager to kill running apps.
V- No more LAG!!!!!
there is an app in the market called "Seeder" [Paid], this is the best app to solve the problem of lags (it's easy to use just read the description).
VI- Remove unwanted system apps:
Stock roms are full of unwanted apps (google and samsung apps) and these apps eat your ram so you should get rid of them
So here is the trick:
Downlaod and Install ES explorer (v 1.6 recomended).
Go to settings >> root options >>and check all the options (root permissions are needed).
Go back and then go to Manager >> App Manager >> Category and choose System apps.
Now you can remove any system app (hold your finger on the app and choose Uninstall).
Don't forget to backup your apps before removing them in case you wanted them in the future)
or you can flash DeleteUnwantApp_Cwm.zip through cwm recovery (thanks to rahul_rocks3 for the file)
VII- Swap your SDcard:
This mod is a must have when you want to play games larger than 1.5 Gb so big thanks to LoLaTiOn for this mod (mod is in the attachment, just install SwapSD-APK-GB-DDMF1 through recovery mod).
VIII- Add Arabic support:
Just flash DDMF1_arabic_support.zip through recovery mod in order to add arabic support to your rom ( thanks again to rahul_rocks3 for the file).
Notice: this mod will just add the arabic font to your rom so you still can't write arabic using the stock keyboards unless you install an arabic keyboard from the market.
IX- Increase your battery life:
This simple trick will increase your battery life (about 50%+ or more, strongly recommended for normal use):
Download No-frills CPU Control CLASSIC from the market.
Open No-frills CPU Control CLASSIC and set governor to conservative and set I/O scheduler to noop and Downclock to 800 MHz.
Check "Apply on boot"
If you are going to play games or do some heavy tasks, just use No-frills CPU Control to boost your CPU again
Hope this helped you to figure out which rom is better for you and remember that there is no perfect rom for SL,it depends on your needs,DDMF1 is just the most stable and daily driver

Thanks for the informative post

Even to delete unwanted apps, i have to root, right?

Hi ASMI1,
nice to see people are still using my GB kernel. As DDMF1 is a value pack firmware, I would strongly recommend everyone to use CF-root Universal beta 15. With the beta 14fix kernel, your front camera will be mirrored and some minor bugs might occur. Also, beta 15 might show lower battery consumption since it uses the reworked sync bug fix. I could never really confirm this, though

Sorry, this is because /system partition needs R/W permissions in order to remove system apps (located in /system/app folder).

[CWM][SCRIPTS][TWEAKS] ThunderBolt! v2.3.2 - 12/31/11 [Governor Tweaks Again!]

pikachu01 said:
News
Updated ThunderBolt! to v2.3.2 with governor tweaks and bugfixes.
Introduction
ThunderBolt! is a script package by me, pikachu01 that combines a few notable tweaks shamelessly modified to the max as well as hacks and scripts that I came up on my own(and added tonnes of things over the months of development and testing). Without further delay, please read the rest of the OP
Features
Zach's modified system_tweak (I/O Sched, Readahead, VM, TCP, 3G, BFS/CFS tweaks)
Zach's modified screenstate_scaling script - VM Scaling
Darky's Zipalign script that actually works (modified it a bit to get it actually working. It was broken as is before this.)
Patched libsqlite that disables the need to fsync. Extremely fast database writes.
app_process from Fugutweaks and system_server from Honeycomb 3.2
Quasi-charged! - Only using Supercharger's script but with ThunderBolt!'s own LMK/ADJ/OOM. Supercharger Update9 RC3.2.
zipalign binary
sqlite3 binary
remount script - Included in /sdcard/bolt_scripts/
sqlite_optimize script - Included in /sdcard/bolt_scripts/
Benefits
Better performance, better battery life through Linux kernel tweaks catered for Android OS and flash memory.
Better battery life and performance through usage of screenstate_scaling whereby it switches governors/thresholds/VM depending on your screen state.
Better performance and battery life for database writes as fsync is not utilized anymore.
Better network throughput from TCP tweaks and 3G tweaks
Less RAM usage through zipalign. I found that market apps like Viber and PlantsVsZombies aren't zipaligned. Oh and Swype too. Surprised? Me too.
Reduced /dbdata, /data, /sdcard usage of *.db files and faster database access through defragmentization of sqlite db files (a lot of apps use Database to store data like Swype dictionaries, Game saves etc)
Faster disk access through remount script (noatime, disable barrier etc)
Less lags through Quasi-charger, with mutltasking (e.g. NFS shift + Opera mobile with 5 tabs fully opened and no lags)
Requirements
Android Gingerbread 2.3.x
At least 2MB free on /system (Delete unused ringtones or useless apps like Aldiko/Allshare etc).
Root
Kernel that supports init.d
Ext4 lagfix if you want to use the remount script
Downloads and changelogs are in the:
Original ThunderBolt! thread
Any support for Galaxy S SLC must be placed here rather than the original thread.
A few Galaxy SLC owners kindly asked me to post here so that the goodness of ThunderBolt! is shared to the masses.
Note: Some addons are device specific (labelled with i9000 for example). You can try using it, but it is not guaranteed to work. Something like 3G for i9000 should ring some bells as i9000 supports a lower speed compared to Galaxy SL.

This looks useful... But the original thread is very long and confusing, and it has many many files..didn't see the specific file for i9003. Can you please post link to the exact file with simplified instructions.

as-is and already tested and confirmed working? or needs to be modified to work on our phone?
after spending some times reading the original thread...
the first post I still can understand how it works.
There are many files attached in the first post, those with "restore" is to revert back to original if you already tweaks it. But none of them is for i9003.
the files "ThunderBolt-CWM v2.3.2.zip" is the main files for thunderbolt tweaks. Flashing instructions already included in the first post.
So, the second post...stuck at half way reading...confuse and confuse...
basically doesn't understand what will each script doing...
Why post a thread like this thats has been copied from the original op.you can just post the link..this could lead the adventurerous mind of sl user as per script is diffrent depending on the phone..copy pasting is a not good manner as the op did a hard job on making it..

[Kernel][GB][OC/UV][HDMI-MHL] !NEW! Synthesis Kernels <2013-04-30>, plus Infusion-Z
Please post only bugs and testing results on this thread. For general questions and answers visit ---> Infusion-Z and Zen kernel Q&A
*** Synthesis: The only GB kernel you need for your Infuse ***
New features
This set of kernels is a combination of the stock UCLB3 kernel, with all mods from the Infusion-Z kernel (see below), some mods from Entropy's DD, and more. New features include:
- Fix for the wifi drain bug (aka bt-amp bug). In the event that this bug occurs, the kernel triggers a reset of the wifi interface, which stops the bug and saves battery.
- Wifi roaming code from the international SGS2 (roam_api) replacing the stock bcmccx logic. Reduces the incidence of the wifi drain bug. This config is less agressive in seeking out new access points, so you may need to open the wifi config screen in settings to speed up the connection process.
- External SD card (/sdcard/external_sd) is now available in CWM recovery and can be used as a source to flash CWM zip packages
- Entropy512's fast charging hack is included (thanks!)
- SIO and BFQ I/O schedulers added from Entropy's DD (thanks!)
- Voodoo lagfix lady 2.0 :good::good:
- Kernels are attached to this post (CWM flashables) including stock CPU frequencies - 1.2Ghz - and two OC options - 1.4Ghz and 1.6Ghz. If you prefer to flash them using SGS Kernel Flasher, you can download a bundle containing all three >>here<<
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Overclocking and Undervolt support - thanks to bedwa's prior work
- CoreA cpu speeds - 1600, 1200, 800, 400, 200, 100
- CoreB cpu speeds - 1400, 1000, 800, 400, 200, 100
- Voodoo sound driver, voodoo lagfix - courtesy of project voodoo
+ [cifs support] see post #29 for info on how to use cifs
+ [Removed auto-install of superuser] you can get the current su cwm flashable here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
+ [HDMI/MHL support] using mhl adapter you can play video on most TVs and monitors with a HDMI port
+ [Video support] newer roms no longer need video reverts to allow video to record or playback
+ [External sdcard fix] corrected issue which prevented external sdcard access in some cases
+ [cfq i/o scheduler tweaks] added optimization tweaks for cfq scheduler
+ [Boot animation fix - partial] this is a work in progress - see notes below
NOTES:
Intended for use *ONLY* with stock-based GB ROMs. For CM7, CM9, and CM10 check project OPs for proper setups.
OC/UV requires use of an app like Voltage Control, CPU master, or SetCPU. Read up before jumping in - you can lock or damage your phone with incorrect settings. Remember to save your boot settings in Voltage Control menu to ensure your settings stick.
To get boot animations to show correctly: In /system/media copy sanim.zip to bootanimation.zip. I plan to automate this in a future release. For tips on overclocking and related performance and battery tweaks see the q&a thread.
Important! - Video restore and revert packages are intended only for users of current ROMs with stock library files who have previously applied a revert package to get video to work. If you haven't done this, or are unsure, flash only the kernel package of your choice.
Links to install packages for the first release can be found on post #3.
Source code is available on my github (see signature).
Be safe and always make a backup before flashing!Standard Disclaimer: All packaged builds are provided with no guarantees as to their safety. By flashing, you assume any and all potential risks that running a custom kernel might entail.
Recommendations: Wipe cache and dalvik-cache when flashing a new kernel. Disable any oc/uv settings from phone before flashing a new kernel.
Overclockers/Undervolters: If your phone is unstable when running at a particular overclock speed, choose a lower max cpu speed - not all phones have the same ability to handle oc speeds. When undervolting, do your research first and make small changes.
Big thanks to those who helped test this and prior kernels: qkster, mikig_mkd, boogman7, scott.hart.bti, aeonit, mikig_mkd, nwinfuse, texcowboy, tankmorph, prairied0gg, madman_sle, cmeyal, atk, and jdt352 Thanks to bedwa, entropy512, linuxbozo, and netarchy who laid the foundation (and built the house) - especially bedwa and entropy for helping me out along the way. Visit their threads and say thanks:infusion kernel development by bedwa --> infusion kernels

edit: Alright. Now that I got the 1st post after op claimed, I will add some more relevant info.
Nice work, Zen. I know you've been putting a lot of time into this.
Let me be the first to say thank you.
I hope this will be the first of several new additions.
Kernel development is a task onto itself.
Kernel devs are a rare breed indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to give us some options.
Now we have the options of OC and retained some video capacity, even though we are using older libs.
Can't want to see what you can do. It will be a beautiful moment to see a stable OC with MHL fix.
Awesome work, bro.
edit: 6.5.2012: Well..MHL works. OC works.
Can you make me look cool so the hot chicks will dig me?

Steps are literally on every help thread.
1. Copy the zip "CWM-Infusion-GB-Z-CoreA2-VideoFix.zip" to internal SD
2. Boot into CWM
3. Select install zip from sd card, and select select the zip you downloaded.
Thank you Zen for your hard work. This is essentially what GPL and git is about. Thank you to everyone else for your patience as well.

it failed to run, what do i do now?(deeeebuuuuuugiiiiiiing)
-type in 'skeleton(or whatever you renamed it as) --verbose'
this will debug the program and show the result of what is going on.
if necessary, you can also try 'skeleton --bbpass --supass --verbose --renice 19'.
-paste the outcome here. i will help you.
How to run?
-run the program

"Find the flashable zips in thread" > well as this is a new Thread, nobody will ever find + Attachments are flashable lol
Make a Clear Structure, use your reserved second post
Write down the Features, Advantages, and How-to modify it with own values (even if u already did, you can still make clearer )
Make a clear Title:

-=Lazerdroid & MP8Engine=- Gaming & UI Boost or whatever
Write down an easy How-To Use and Test for Not-so-Advanced (I won't call them n00bs ^*>) (Update your old tutorial)
Instead "Yo No Press Thanks" (which is actually pretty true) just "Please Press Thanks and rate 5* if you downloaded anything". Be thankfull... Thank You too!"
Don't just write CAPITAL LETTERS & USE ONLY 1-2 "!"
Only Recomnendations, I don't force you to anything.
Great Tweak btw

Flashed the zip. All is well.
antutu score (engine8 only): 3303
antutu score (lazeroid 2.7 + engine8): 4480 (sd card write is slow as hell due to my movinand) database IO = 360 (has been better on other versions off lazeroid/vm lagtuner.
my setup: SGS 1 with slow nand, liveoc 120, ondemand, deep idle on, no big mem, 512 mb sd card read ahead, SAI on, BLN on
Still a GREAT tweak/script for my SGS.
Thnx LENAROX !
PS: [Question] What's your opinion on "SD card read ahead in semaphore" ? Mine is 512kb because i read that that more causes more lag...

Hmm.. Ill take a look about the sdcard read ahead tweaks.
If you want to disable that read ahead tweak(lazerdroid script)
you should erase all the 'tune your settings here' lines. It will permanently disable every sdcard tweak the script has.
btw, my antutu score is much worse than yours
but who cares, the games are smoooooth
Please, just call me 'Lag Doctor'.
I was wondering - do these tweaks work and have any effect on other phones? For example sgs2.

For all Android phones\tablets\PCs with Linux
MPEngine9 development has been finished. The current changes from the previous version are:
-removed minfree calculator(they dont work in some roms) replaced with MFKx2 multiplier.
-changed all the tweaks to non specified applet directory(includes lazerdroid)(a new fix for everything)
-alot stronger, best cache cleaner.
-theres more but i cant remember...
It still doesnt change the fact that i will release them in sunday.(if lucky i might be able to upload sooner than that)
thank you
Please, just call me 'Lag Doctor'.
Need help. When i install CWM_LazerDroid_2_7_MPEngine8_package.zip in recovery mode and i go then to system/etc/init.d/____ i dont have any new file.
There it must be system/etc/init.d/2LazerDroid2_7. Why i dont have this file?

[tips and tricks] performance and battery life for android kitkat 4.4.2

As we know we have android kitkat which is one of the best os version for our phone.
by following twicks and trick this we can make it more fluent and responsive i think it will be more helpfull those facing perormance and battery problem
1) ART (ANDROID RUN TIME):
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO boost u r phone performance
for me my quadrant score is 3500 with art
>no lag(0 lag)
>faster opening of apps
>more touch response
drawbacks :
>as we change runtime to dalvik to art some apps may crash or may not work specifically Google gapps
solution :
there not complete solution but i go this way all is well till now
art compatible gapps http://d-h.st/hSL
art compatible android app list
http://www.androidruntime.com/list
note: art is not compatible to xposed framework so u have to uninstall xposed
2) unistall xposed :
when you go for customization u prefer xposed framework i had done same thing but when I unistalled all xposed apps and framework phone was super smooth
3) use greenify
this is root app which hibernate all installed apps except system apps so when there is no use of app it gets hibernated so no baground runup of apps so no ram compsution and no battery drain
u will get it on playstore
4) debolting of rom:
debolting of rom will space freeup all u r system and make it faster
remove only application that are safe to remove list is as below
http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...e-apks-their-purpose-safe-not-remove-big.html
to remove app just go to any root browser >system >apps and priv-app folder>delete unnecessary app
5) overclock u r Rom with battery efficient kernel:
As our great developer made cpu gpu oc/uv kernels we can use them for overclocking of rom which definaltely boost performance
this is oc kernel for resurrection remix 4.4 rom kernel but it may work on all roms as i personally used it for cm11 maclaw, beanstalk 4.4 roms except aicp rom by vikasayu where i got boot loop
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407591111( thanx t4n017)
this kernel great so far in terms of performance and battery life
remember oc is not working on all phone
to tweak cpu speed u can use these apps
> nofrills cpu control ( play store)
> set cpu(play store)
go to app and set max cpu 1250 and min 200
or as per u r wish where u got performance
to tweak gpu u can use this app just flash it via cwm recovary
>novathor settings app
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407587599 ( thanx t4n017)
go to gpu > set mali low load clockspeed and high load speed to max l.e 680 mhz
so u r gpu will work at full speed
or disable auto boost and set static frequency to 680 mz
Note: more than 680 mhz may cause freezing lagging and screen tearing
6) system tweaks
in cynogenmod there are number of tweaks
1) go to system >performance >enable purging of assets
2)go to system >performance >enable kernel same page merging
3) go to system >development >enable 2d drawing
7) AVOID:
1) don't use any ram booster app
2) don't use any system cleaner
3) don't use any app killer
because u r kitkat don't need this any more
BATTERY TWEAKS:
battery is major problem of cynogenmod 11 (kitkat) it's default thing because these roms are meant for performance so its affect battery than stock roms
but we can reduce heavy battery drainage nd u r phone will withstand 18-20hr
1) odex u r rom
as all stock rom are odexed so they gives performance battery life with less customization
but u can odex ur deodexed cm 11 rom by this script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527268
download script
go to recocery
install it
reboot phone
go to terminal eluminator
type su>enter>type odex sysapp(odex system app) or frame (odex framework) or all (odex both)
2) use greenify
3) change u r runtime to art
4)debolt u rom
5) go to system>performance >set processor abyssplug max freq:800 min freq: 200 and io schelduler to sio
i personally uses oc kernek with max 1150 min 200/ ondemand/ sioplus but i undervolted the rom
6) undervolt u r rom:
if u r using oc/uv kernel then by using novathorseetinga app u can undervolt kernel and save u r battery
go to novathor settings app > go to cpu> go to cpu voltages and set cpu undervolt as per wish but i personally uses
-25 mv
note: very high undervolting or overvolting may reboots u r phone
7) deep sleep state:
deep sleep state of phone is that when u r phone is in standby mode u.e u r not using it screen is off it goes to sleep but some process are working which cause battery drain u can change that setting
>go to novathor setting app > go to power> set deep sleep to 4
OR
USE galaxy s advance setting app> go to deep sleep stateand set it at 4
at 4 u r phone goes to high deep sleep state so no more battery drain in sleep
note: dont go for deep sleep state 5 phone may be unresponsive u have to reboot it
8) screen filter:
>this is a app on play store which deems brightness of screen backlight which helps us to protects our eyes and again on amoled screen reduces battery drain too
> personally used and voila very effective
> u can easily control filter in status bar as it has stausbar notificaton when u are outdoor just increse its percentage and when u are indoore just reduceit manually as per u r wish where u got best result
>download it at play store
once again if u have more suggestions then plz mention here so we have best set up our beloved sgs advance for
performance and battery life

Super cool tips bro!
I hope the app killers, cache cleaners and ram booster apps will become obsolete with KitKat!:good:
App killers, cache cleaners and ram boosters have been obsolete since at least froyo where android "learned" how to take care for itself. It's only got better since then.
nice bro.. good tips n solved my battery problems.
Uninstall all xposed apps and use greenify? Im confused...
@ortek donation version of greenify is related to xposed framework to hibernate system apps but there is no need to hibernate system apps because some process must be runed by Android os as they are necessary
so don't be confuse i have mentioned here about oridinary version of greenify
So if i want to use greenify i shouldnt install xposed?

Can i install this kernel on RR rom?
If not, Can you suggest me which kernel would be better for RR?
Thanks in Advance
@Ragwan yes it will work with rr rom( kitkat version only)
But keep nandroid backup if any thing goes wrong
I think given kernel link it's kernel of letest pa 4.4 rom its built with gcc 4.7 any fast and smooth no lag anymore.
Again if u want to try then use boot img of liquid smooth 3.2 its gcc 4.9 sabermod fast and smooth but i felt some reboots works great with Abysplug governor

In op you say about "CPU undervolt, bit in novathor setting i can undervolt only gpu....

[GUIDE]Tricks & tweaks to improve looks and speed of your Android

Hi guys, today I'm posting some great tips tweaks and tricks for ROOTED Android phone which I've tested on Karbonn A1 plus. These should work in almost any phone as they are mostly not device specific. And I've tried them all on my device which means there are next to no chances of damaging your device.
This guide includes the following :-
1.Change the look and feel of your device (Includes CWM method and the new Lucky Patcher method)
2.Run temple run and such games on Karbonn A1+ (and other low-end Chinese phones) and increase overall performance by increasing the RAM.
3.Change the boot animation of your device.
4.Change the fonts of your device.
5.Supercharge the phone with some great tweaks (credits =zeppelinrox=)
6.Some handy tweaks using xposed modules to further customise your phone and improve performance suit your needs.
BEFORE I POST THE TRICKS I'LL HAVE TO WARN YOU, AS A FORMALITY THAT ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE IN ANY WAY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DUE TO THIS POST SHALL BE SOLELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
READ ANY FURTHER ONLY IF YOU AGREE TO THIS.
Okay, so let's start !!!
1.Changing the status bar of your phone Go here
2. Improve performance
Use Roehsoft Ram Expander (download from attachments) to create a swapfile and use it to increase your phone's RAM.This will provide you with some extra RAM and you will be able to run games like
Temple Run Oz,Temple Run Brave,Temple Run 2,NFS Shift and several others.
I have tested and found all these games running on my phone although sometimes there was a bit of a lag in temple run , but I guess that's acceptable
You'll see 2 empty fields after u launch the app and select the language. The Size field determines the size of the file that Ram Expander will create to provide you with extra RAM. Simply put this means
that the number u type in here will be the no. of extra MBs of RAM you'll get. Remember though that I won't recommend a value bigger than 1024 as almost all apps will do fine with this much RAM.
Also the better your SD Card is the better your performance will be. A class 4 Sd card is the bare minimum and class 6 or higher is highly recommended.
Experiment with ur own values in the swap file size and Swappiness fields.
However these are a few settings that work best for me.
Swap file size = 820 (which gives a total of 204 820 = 1024 MB RAM)
Swappiness = 85
Auto run enabled.
I'd also recommend that you used the CPU control option in rom toolbox pro to underclock the processor to save battery.
Another recommended app is Titanium backup which helps you efficiently and automatically backup the data and the apk of your apps along with allowing you to uninstall bloatware.
3.Changing the boot animation of your phone.
First understand what a boot animation is - It is the animation which is displayed after the company logo in our case after the Karbonn smart logo.
To change it first download ROM Toolbox Pro from the play store. I would recommend that you bought the app as the developer well deserves it.
Now go to the interface tab and click on boot animations . Press the menu key and click install location.
Change it to /system/etc/oem/ and put the filename as bootanimation.zip.
Now download any of the several boot animations from within rom toolbox pro. After download they'll be saved to /mnt/sdcard/romtoolbox/bootanimations/here.
To install one of them just go to the local tab in boot animations, browse to the above folder touch the desired boot animation and click install.
On the next reboot you'll see that boot animation after the karbonn smart logo.
4. Changing the fonts
Bored with the default fonts huh ???
Give this a spin ...
Launch rom toolbox pro and go to the fonts installer option in the interface tab. Click on this option and after a while you'll see a list of fonts which u can preview and install at choice.
You can also search and download different fonts from the internet and browse to them in the local tab and select the install option.
After you do this you'll be asked to reboot and voila !! you have changed your device's fonts.
5.Supercharge your phone and squeeze every bit of performance out of it
I want to make it clear that this is not my creation and all the credit goes to =zeppelinrox=.
Download SManager from the attachments.
Go to this thread : v6 supercharger and download the Supercharger Starter kit (you'll need it) also download the latest v6 Supercharger BlackDog update (NOT V8 supercharger).
Extract the Supercharger Starter kit zip and run Startmeup.sh with SU permissions (touch the script file click on the second (pirate like) icon and click run).
This will install all the necessary components needed to run the V6 supercharger. This will also install zipalign and sqlite binaries which are great help too.
Follow the instructions given on the forum and you'll do just fine.
You can also try this 3G turbocharger script again by =zeppelinrox= although I didn't notice much of a difference but the results may vary from place to place and from carrier to carrier so give it a try too.
6.Some handy tweaks using xposed modules
1.Download the xposed framework installer for Gingerbread from the attachments.
2.Go to the Framework section and click Install/Update.The phone will reboot.
3.After reboot go to the Downloads section and download the modules you want (decide by reading the give description). Install the modules and then go to the Modules section and check mark all the modules.Reboot.
4.Now u can launch these modules from the app drawer and tweak the way they behave and work by changing the settings.
Here I'm posting some links to pages with great kernel tweaks and a page which contains a really nice booster engine. Enjoy .....
Info on kernel and the CPU (includes tweaks as well)
Spl engine (to boost performance)
Congratulations !!!! you've just tweaked your phone to give you all the performance and beauty the hardware below that screen can afford to.
If you have a problem, post it here and I'll come back to you as soon as I can.
Also if you want to post the information in this thread anywhere else you are free to do it. Just make sure that you give me due credit and provide a link directing to this thread.

DON'T FORGET TO HIT THANKS.
Here are some mods and scripts that I found working well and which serve some commonly needed purposes (speeding the phone) . None of these have been created by me but by the people on xda itself. My sole aim here is to let more and more people know about these works.
1 . The Pure Performances Mod by Jeeko and team.
Find it here .
2. Universal init.d installer by Ryuinferno to get init.d support on phones where its not present (proves really useful)
Get it here
3. The Great Dash-M by Mya SeR - people running ics and above, keep in mind that this mod REPLACES the build.prop by Dash.prop so your build.prop customizations won't work.
Get it
More to come .....

Enjoy .....

I don't have a Facebook id. Tell me what happened here as it may help several others. Also I check this thread at least twice daily so this would be a much better option.

These tweaks can be used on any phone as they are not related to a particular kernel or os version. You will be able to safely try these with the least chances of damaging your phone. Enjoy ........
Good work, but there is 1 thing amiss here. The kernel. These tweaks may bring out some performance but not as much as a custom kernel. Tweaking/flashing a custom kernel is like tweaking a car engine, its where you can mostly decide how your phone will act. Just pointing that out, so people don't ignore the facts.

Thanks for the suggestion. I too thought about including some kernel tweaks and even some relating to the CPU but I felt that there already are several guides that are far better than what I could write (I've learnt all I know about kernel tweaks from them) already present on xda so it'd be just repitition writing them again. Also I didn't find a very large difference being made by the tweaks (except a few). I originally created this thread to introduce a new method (the lucky patcher method) to change status bars but included some basis tweaks to make it a bit more helpful for newcomers. Anyways thanks for the suggestion. Maybe if some more people mention that they'd like to see some io scheduler and kernel tweaks in this thread I'll include some.

I'm running stock. I tried xperia rom, green wrapper, vaibhavs rom, deadspace, destro A1, bluebean, revnart smoke. , ultra v1, (u see I've tried all the roms available for karbonn A1 but NONE worked) I even tried backing up and restoring but that didn't help either. I also tried restoring chetans backup which didn't help me either. I think that the version of recovery is not for s/w 2.1.3. Whenever flashing failed o had to take the phone to the service center. Any help or suggestion ?
By the way I remember u said you're in a problem ? What's that and how can I help you?
Since this is a general thread for tricks and tweaks. Please talk about kernels and cpu or you can attach the links. So we can get all in one..

I don't know why but I'm unable to type more than 3 new characters in the first post. I'll try to find a reason for this but if I don't get one I'll post the new tricks and extra info (regarding kernel tweaks) in a new post. Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi everybody. I have posted 2 new links as many people suggested that I include some kernel and CPU tweaks too. I couldn't type what I wanted in the first post due to some restrictions by xda so I've just added the links. Hope that helps. Check them out in the first post and Enjoy ...
