Hey,
So I've recently gotten an Australian S6 G920i and was wondering if I would be able to flash a G920F rom to it. As far as I know the phones are practically identical so I cannot see why it wouldn't be possible, I just don't want to have to wait for the Australian carriers to update the firmware, plus the bloatware is gross (bootscreen, apps, etc.). Tried to look for a similar thread but couldn't find anything, help would greatly be appreciated
Thanks!
Hi soymllk,
What carrier are you using?
I assume you are on 5.1.1 firmware.
Just took a quick look at sammobile and found Vodafone firmware from 01/14/2016.
- Renolz
You can flash an unbranded firmware on your G920I. Running a 920F firmware isn't possible on your phone.
The only difference in the 920I and 920F are the LTE bands. The 920I has the same FDD-LTE bands as a a 920F, however it also carries additional TDD-LTE bands for Australia, India, Singapore and a few other countries.

Hey guys, thanks for your help! Before I saw any of this I went to SamMobile and flashed the Vodafone ROM (knowing that Vodafone don't customize phones at all, unlike Optus...) so all the bloatware crap is gone now Thanks!
(BTW I'm with Vodafone but the phone was originally an Optus phone so it had all their stuff on it, including a lovely "Hellooooooooo" welcome and "cya ya!!" shut down screen-_-)
Hi,
I have a S8+ with the model SM-G955FD and was wondering if I am able to download the firmware for the model SM-G955F?
The phone was purchased outside of Australia and doesn't use the Australian (Telstra) firmware that I would like it to. I just figured they are the same phone just different model numbers so there shouldn't be any issues right? I might just lose a couple features or something but the phone should work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Yea, the G955FD is the dual SIM Exynos variant, right?
I'm sure the dual SIM uses the same firmware as the single SIM, so you should have no worries flashing Aussie firmware.
But I would suggest you flash the XSA (Aussie unbranded) firmware, not Telstra firmware. You'll lose nothing, but you'll get faster updates.

I thought as much, thanks so much for clarifying. I will download the XSA firmware as well.

I'm using Metro PCS service on a Singapore XSP and experiencing some terrible 4G service. Is there anything I can do about this, looked perhaps flash smother CSC onto my 955FD?

The phone will work pretty much fine provided
1 - Exact Same hardware . you can use snapdaragon ROMs on Snapdragon Devices and vice versa for Exynos .
2 - Same network Bands supported . The ROM contains the programs on how to operate in different frequencey bands .

Here's the XSA (Australia) firmware:
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=0C53FCC1D0CA11E7A5F9FA163EE8F90B
Flash it. Doesn't matter if your device is G955F or FD, the ROMs are exactly the same.
Does the method works with G955J SCV35 model? I'm running NTDocomo firmware on KDDI model to unlock network (single SIM) . I wan't to flash unlocked U firmware but getting scared that the phone will be bricked.
I wnna flash My S7 to Philippines To UK Firmware Any issue? help!!

G930FD
That should be fine, the G930FD is used internationally so swapping region firmwares would work. You can get different firmware from sammobile.com or updato.com.
You can also flash G930F firmware if you don't find the G930FD firmware you're after, and the dual SIM should still work. At least that's what I've read here.
A friend brought me an S8-G950U Snapdragon version and I do not have the ability to get an att chip to update de firmware because I live in Argentina. I´m on G950USQUAQGL (August 1, 2017) and de software provider says ATT/ATT/ATT. Is there any way to update the firmware including Oreo?
I'm sorry but the more I read the more I get confused.

I don't see any ATT ROMs for the S8 SM-G950U listed in SamMobile. However, I do see ATT ROMs under SM-G950U1. But isn't the U1 the unlocked USA version of the S8?

Did you even find any ROMS for the S8 SM-G950U? I'm having the same issue with not seeing any AT&T options on SamMobile.
I'm facing same problem too. ATT does not release its stock firmwares quite often. However find below May,2018 patch wity Oreo. Waiting for such stock firmware for Pie.

Hi guys you can flash any firmware G950U from Sam mobile it work because these are multi csc.
Tested in my unlocked s8 G950U.
Sam Mobile seems to have disabled their free download option (possibly in maintenance). Anyone has a link the latest Pie stock with July 1 patch level (AT&T) and can share please?
I think the OP (and myself) looking for this one - https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...59?make=Samsung&model=SamsungG955U&gsi=x6lhdu
Edit:
1. Here is the Samsung Fan Club link to the latest (G950USQS6DSG4, as of 8/18) AT&T ROM (free fast download) - contains T-Mo User data, use the one from below
2. Userdata for AT&T

It will never work properly here (UK) as it's Qualcomm snap dragon and it was build for a different region.
You can attempt to install different firmware from UK or EU but it's really just luck if you get it to work or not.
To get wifi calling to work you will need to flash unbranded firmware, either BTU (UK) or XAS (USA). Even when you flash US unbranded as i said earlier it will not be fully functional in this region as it does not have the required hardware.

Yes if you want to use it in the UK.
Carriers in the US, T Mobile (US), Vodafone (US) etc DO NOT use the same connection standard as Vodafone, T mobile, UK. It is essential you understand this. There is no advantage to flashing UK network branded firmware, unbranded will give you all available connection options but not 100%.

I will give it a go. Do you know where I will find the filmware? been looking but can't find it
SamFirm tool is a good way to get the most recent firmware files from samsung servers directly.
Otherwise it's firmware rehosts like sammobile or updato
