Hi
I wonder if anyone here can help me out, I just damage the original rom of my Spice Mi700 build 5012_3_16P (Indonesian Version) I cant make a phone call, browse internet, etc. Now I need the original ROM of it to flash it back to my device. I couldn't go to the store to get it fix cause i'm too far away from the store (needs 2 flights to get there).
So if anyone here got the device and can dump the clean ROM for me or if anyone had the original ROM would you please share it to me??
BIG THANKS,
ps: mods, if this is the wrong place to ask please move it to the right place, tq.
Did u tried to flash a custom ROM or damaged it while using?
Before flashing try factory reset ur device.Follow the steps below.
---->IF U CAN BOOT INTO RECOVERY VIA KEY THEN SKIP THE 1) N 2) 3) STEP.
IF NOT THEN FOLLOW ALL THE 4 STEPS.
1)Turn on ur pc n search for quick boot app on the internet.
2)Install it run it.
3)Select the recovery boot.(This will boot ur device with inbuilt recovery mode present in ur device.)
4)Then select the wipe date or factory reset something like that.
Wait until it is finished. Then reboot ur device n check weather the prob is solved or not.
Here's the quick boot app:
I am not allowed to post link but here's the path for it:
Google for quickboot.apk u will see the mediafire link download it.
Thanks for the reply,
I have done repairing the device, I search all over the net finnally I have solution flash back using custom ROM.
Here's what happen that make my OS broken, at the time my phone was temporary rooted, then I do a Factory Reset (while it still rooted). After the reset there's when a lot of my device features can't be use. I can't make a phone call, lost my browser, can't install apps, my builtin file browser was not installed. So I'm almost can not do anything. I even tried to install the apps using ADB and still failed. So in my confusion status i search here the any possibilities to fix it, what i found is a custom ROM but its for 5012_3_16I (mine is 16P). I'm afraid it will not work for my device. But anyway what's the worst it can be, so i do this way :
1. Install clokwordrecovery.img
2. Reboot to the recovery (using adb commands)
3. Backup the last state of my device
4. Then install the custom ROM from this XDA (i cannot post a link too, just search it with a thread title "[REQ] Developers Interest NEEDED: Samsung Tab Alternative - Spice Mi700 DroidPad")
5. Aaannnndddd it works, my phone got all the function back.
6. Oooo, I also overclock the Proc to 864mhz (using a solution from the neighbours forum)
7. I found out about yaffs2expert in the market.
8. Using yaffs tool I extract the system img from my backup files earlier
9. I remove the folder system and boot.img in the custom ROM that i got before and change it with my extracted folder from the extracted img and the backup boot.img too (the original backup boot.img was not extracted).
10. I compressed it using zip
11. Using recovery mod install the ROM that i have just build before.
12. And again it now back to its original (like new from the store) state of the device.
13. The proc is still OC to 864mhz.
Do what I have just done is a bad idea (customizing a moded ROM with my original ROM)????
Ok now I have a new problem, everytime I turn the wifi on the device is restarted, is there any solution??
Thanks,
READ ME FIRST!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I and/or XDA are not responsible if this bricks your phone!!! If this transforms your phone into a decepticon and shoots your eye out...
OK....what a few months its been...sorry guys been out of commission...car wreck...
Had to start over...so here we go..
First...You must be rooted...if not google it..
install your favorite root file explorer
install your favorite term emulator
ok got that...now the good stuff..
download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/L45C_CWM_Recovery-v6.0.1.2.zip
or http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/L45C_CWM_Recovery-v5.0.28.zip
this is the cwm recovery 6.0.1.2 compiled from source by me...it is only for the L45C...Cant stress that enough...had to make changes to graphics from source to get it to work...
also the v5.0.28 recovery because as of now v6.0.1.2 has no sdcard partioning support because it is new.
you can choose which you like best...
put on root of your sdcard ...
make sure the file name is recovery.img
now download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/flash_image.zip
this is the flash_image file to to flash the recovery..
unzip it should have the name flash_image
use root explorer to copy the file to /system/bin
open term emulator get su rights and cd to /system/bin and type chmod 0755 flash_image
now cd back to /
still with su rights type flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
if no output... wahoo.... if you get error start over
dont reboot yet...
go to playstore and download a app called Quick Boot its free and handy you want have to hold buttons to reboot into recovery..
ok...now the moment of truth run quick boot and choose recovery...you should get a su ask from superuser grant it....phone should reboot into cwm recovery...if it did... wahoo... you now have cwm
keymap is fixed and is like this.... search button to select.....return button to return..home button to scroll..
way better than before,,,to me any way...
still will get error about bad boot message but i will fix later it don't affect anything..

Hey ICE.....Is it suitable for Optimus Net P690 in India.....?????
Does this support custom themes?
p690f can't get qtadb to link phone/PC
Hi
I am stumped, as a complete novice to smart phone/linux.
At present my status is:
1. Phone is rooted, so I was able to get this done from my PC.
2. Now I have copied the recovery.img & flash.img to SD card.
3. I have Terminal emulator on phone &/or Sd card.
4. When in USB storage is activated & connected to PC, I can see all the files but on terminal emulator.
5. I have Qtabd on my PC but it will not 'see' my phone either in USB storage activated or not activated or in debug mode.
6. When debug mode activated, USB storage is deactivated. Seems both not able to be on.
7. In one of the XDA threads there was mention of 'demounting' the sd card so have also tried that in same combinations of SD/ debug.
I have been trying to sort this out on another forum but seems there is more info available on here.
I am having a huge problem tying to get Recovery working direct on the phone, mainly due to my inexperience on these devices, I am very happy to learn if pointed in right direction. Of course my concern also is not to brick the phone!!
Any assistance or links to suitable areas appreciated.
Whoops seems I posted on wrong thread, thought it was the similar one for P690, applogies.
WaHooo
I managed to finally get recovery activated using the terminal emulator on the SMALL screen of my phone!!
However I would still very much appreciate sorting out Qtadb connection as I am sure sometime in the future I will need to do some additions/deletions to my p690.
So, any info etc will be appreciated.
For any other Newbies who may see this,
1. To copy from a browser text long touch at start/end of text, then drag to high light.
2. To copy, touch highlighted area, you should get a message 'copied to clipboard'. To cancel, if you make a mistake like I made MANY touch some where else on screen.
3. With Terminal emulator started, (P690), after entering 'su' tap touch screen to bring up keyboard and select 'return/enter key'. This gives you Super User.
Long touch screen brings up menu withe 'paste',select.
4. To toggle back to browser, to same screen you were working on, hold down second key on bottom. This will bring up all the recent icons for what you were working on, select 'browser'. Continue copy line by line.
5. To toggle back to emulator, long press 2nd from left key & select emulator.
Hope this assists someone.
The p690 and this phone are not the same. This phone is from Net 10, idk about the p690, but this phone is. This one is also cdma. I think the p690 is gsm. They are NOT cross compatible. I'd brick my phone if I used a p690 rom.
sorry guys been working on code....

Update please
Hi there. Been crack flashing my phone for a while and finally got my wife's phone rooted today.
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck flashing a custom recovery yet (eg CWM or Amon Ra)? If so, please post a guide. As I have been unable to find anything using my Google-fu.
Also, all your links were removed. So other than hinting at a solution. This thread is zero help.
Thanks in Advance!
My Phone: HTC Evo 4G (flashed to Cricket)
Wife's Phone: LG Optimus (LGL45C)
I have a question regarding etc..... Does your rom include a tun.ko file and if not do you know of anyone or anyway to run openvpn/droidvpn or just changeing kernels would be nice...
I can't root.
I have an L45C with 2.3.4 on it and it just won't root. I have tried: Gingerbreak, z4root, and unlock root, none of them worked. I tried gingerbreak a few times at day, and all night as I slept, but my phone just isn't rooting!
If any of you have gotten root please do tell me how.
no updates yet?
Can someone please post a link to this ROM? I had it but can't find ir and I need it bad, phone is semi-bricked and I have a corrupt backup. PLEASE!!

ROM/Recovery LGL45C
What are the results of flashing this recovery? Was it successful to flash as I have a backup for the phone that I have made thankfully.
results are great. For what little ROM development, this is the best we have. Its just a ClockworkMod recovery image and then a rooted ROM. I'm still using it to this day and with all the apps and tweaks I've added, this phone rocks!!
My only complaint is I'm running out of internal space so I need to figure something out with that. Maybe I will try to re-partition my card to ext4 and try to increase internal memory by like 100mb. Apps2SD only goes so far sadly. I'm also going to try to put Team Win recovery on after I make sufficient backups. Let me know if I can help.

I was able to install the CWM Recovery to the phone just fine. Realized what I was doing incorrectly. Now to test the only ROM's that I know of that are available for the Q from Area51. Are there anymore ROM's being developed. The L45C is not a bad phone, just needs more lightweight ROM's to work with it.
I performed root of my stock Froyo Infuse using Superoneclick.
I did NOT remove or unmount the SD card prior to doing this (it was not mentioned in the instructions I followed on another site).
The phone was successfully rooted. I see no problems evident in behavior of the phone.
I am contemplating flashing a ROM at some time in the future (after more studying of the qkster's "how-to").
Will this previous error cause me any problems?
Is there anything I should do to fix it before I proceed?
Thanks in advance.
You appear to have done everything correctly so you are safe to continue. When it says not having the sdcard connected it refers to your internal sd card, which cannot be mounted to the pc when running SOC.
What ROM you plan on flashing sir? That way I may be able to make the process simpler for you.

Thanks. AEON is my objective.
Very well, then you just only need to install cwm so you can flash the rom.
follow method 1 of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14376440
Be sure to first install the 3e modded recovery using an root explorer such as solid explorer or es file explorer, both free.

Or...since he's rooted download aeon, then download one of entropys DD kernels (any one...its only for cwm and the kernel will be replaced by aeon)
Then go to the playstore and search "sgs kernel flasher"
Flash entropys kernel that you downloaded
After reboot (may boot loop don't worry) boot into recovery by holding both volume keys and power simutaniously until your phone reboots and you see Samsung logo...when you see the Samsung logo release the buttons
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvic cache (under advanced)
Install zip from sdcard
Choose aeon
Choose yes
Wait
When done reboot

I want to follow roughly mg2195’s path suggested above.
I did download SGS.
As a side-trip, I used SGS to install some Froyo-compatible custom Kernels (Infusion 2.0, Infusion 1.8, Defused 1.4).
I now have Defused 1.4 Kernal along with my stock Froyo ROM
I used Root explorer to put the modified recovery file in.
I rebooted several times and used the three-finger press, and now I reach the RED screen:
ClockwordModRecovery v2.5.1.3. But I didn't do anything at that screen yet other than exit.
I have two questions before I proceed;
QUESTION 1 – Can I skip entropy’s DD kernal since I already have CWM red?
QUESTION 2 – I want to verify the modified recovery file that I used is correct:
I use the one suggested in this Infuse video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y09p-J_g_Rg
the video links to file
http://llamalord.com/youtube/downloads/3e_recovery_no_sig_check.zip
When I googled that file name 3e_recovery_no_sig_check.zip to double-check, it lead me to this thread for CAPTIVATE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909213
GTG has a different thread “100% working ClockworkMod Recovery for Infuse 4G” which has a zip file with a different name (recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-infuse.zip)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107881
That 2.5.1.2 is not quite the same version number that I see on my red screen (my red screen says 2.5.1.3) . And on top of that, GTG made some comments on page 1 and 2 of that thread which I didn’t fully understand but lead me to believe Captivate is not a match (so he used i90000 instead). All of this makes me wonder if I have the right CWM red in there.
QUESTION 2 SUMMARY: Do you think my CWM red is good, or do I need to start all over again with GTG’s file?
Additional info found later;
I did find the same file 3e_recovery_no_sig_check.zip that I installed here on xda forums in an Infuse thread by h8rift: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091465 . I downloaded it and verified the zip filename and size is identical to the one I used. That makes me feel a little better about question 2.
Although I've been studying these things, I'm still confused about the next step (trying to figure Q1 answer myself). Maybe if I can understand better, then I can answer myself. The following questions are an attempt to improve my understanding:
Q3 - Does getting the red CWM menu mean my CWM is successfully installed the way it needs to be ready to flash a rom ? (I’d think it does, but not sure).
Q4 - I see the GTG thread was same one linked by andros11. I am totally confused about that thread. Method 1, Step 1 you take a zip (which zip... your ROM or the one linked on the message?) and you rename it update.zip and put it on your sd card (where on your sd card... surely it makes a difference?). And this accomplishes something different than putting the modified file named recovery file into root/system/bin/recovery using root explorer?
Q5 – the only purpose of mg2195’s recommendation to download entropy’s kernal was to get the modified CWM, right?
Thanks for your patience.
========================
I think I will go ahead and flash Entropy's daily driver, should make all my questions irrelevant.
I'll post results, fingers crossed that it'll be a proclamation of victory.
In the meantime, I'm still curious about above, especially question #4.
==================
Edited again - actually I am going to sleep on it for a few days and make sure this is what I want to do.

Since you already managed to get Cwm red, you have no need of using the 3e modded recovery. That would only allow you to flash the zip linked in the OP of the gtg thread, which should be placed on the root of your /sdcard.
Entropy's dd mg2195 suggested would replace your kernel with a Gingerbread one that included cwm.
I would say to go ahead and flash Aeon since you already have CWM.

STOCK GB ALL THE WAY TO JB CUSTOM ROM
If you run Gingerbread, start from A directly
If you run un-rooted Jellybean, start from B
If you run rooted Jellybean with a custom kernel, start from C.
If you run rooted Jelly Bean without a custom kernel, start from B, but skip number 1 and 6.
You might want to read this before starting, it is optional though, but will give you a better idea of what you're doing.
GUIDE
This guide shall guide you through turning your suckish GB i9070 (not i9070p) to Custom ROM JB Awesomeness.
Unless your phone shipped from Russia, it probably has Gingerbread preinstalled... so, let's first Jellybeanize it.
A) JELLYBEANIZATION:
Download Odin3 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1341114315. Extract it into a folder.
Download Stock JB firmware from here. http://hotfile.com/dl/222710569/1f2...m-GT-I9070-TSR-I9070XXLQE-1365486223.zip.html . Extract it into a separate folder, you will get a .tar.md5 file.
Make sure you have Kies installed, but not running.
Turn your phone off, and boot into Download mode, this can be done by holding the Vol.Down+Home+Power buttons together at the same time, till it boots.
Press Volume up to continue. Plug in your phone (make sure it's at least 60% charged) . Wait till Odin recognizes (It should say something like COMORT... to the left).
Click on PDA and choose the firmware (.tar.md5) that you extracted in step 2. Click start.
Right now, a virus which will fry your phone's internals is being installed... Calm down, joke.
When your phone boots into JB, and Odin says "PASS". Unplug.
NOTE: There is a chance that you will get a bootloop ( i.e. Android won't boot ). No, no, no... your phone isn't broken! Simply reboot to stock recovery by powering off, then pressing Vol.Up+Home+Power buttons together and wipe data/factory reset. It'll boot nicely
Now, you are currently on a stock Samsung Jellybean firmware, which is not rooted. This basically means that you do not have access to modifying the system files in your ROM, which means that you cannot install any custom kernel, custom recovery or a custom ROM... In section B, you will learn how to gain root access, install a custom kernel with a custom recovery.
B) ROOTING, KERNEL & TWRP/CWM:
Download Shaan's root from here http://d-h.st/ook
Download Temporary cwm from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1987313
Download CoCore + TWRP (TWRP is one of the two recoveries available, we will use it in this guide because it looks less intimidating, and it's touch-enabled ) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1363518705
Place all 3(or 2 if you're rooted) zip files in your external SD card
Power off. Boot into recovery by holding Vol.Up+Home+Power.
By navigating via volume buttons, choose install zip from external sd card, and install root.zip... shouldn't take long.
In the same way install update.zip. Now in a few seconds, you will get a different screen, this is Clockworkmod recovery, albeit a temporary one..
In this recovery, go to install zip, then install zip from external sd, and choose CoCore+TWRP. After installation, keep going back until the main cwm screen, and hit reboot.
NOW, Everytime you boot into recovery (which is the way to backing up and installing custom ROMs) you will get TWRP.
Now, you are rooted, with a custom kernel, and TWRP ( a custom recovery). You can either stay on stock Samsung firmware, or continue through section C, and get yourself a custom ROM.
C) INSTALLING A CUSTOM ROM:
Download any custom ROM (Recommendations at the end of the thread) zip and place it in the root of your external (or internal, but i prefer ext.) sd.
Boot into recovery.
Navigate by touch, press backup, and slide as instructed to make a backup.
Go back to the main screen and choose install. If the zip has been placed in ext. sd. then press on external sd and choose the appropriate zip and slide to install. If placed in internal sd, then choose internal sd from the top and go to /emmc folder, and choose zip and install.
When finished, navigate to the recovery home, and press reboot sytem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Which of the above will increase my binary counter?
A- None! Let me clarify how the binary counter is tipped. The only way the binary counter can be increased is if you flash anything that is non-official Samsung signed, via Odin.
Q- How do I unroot?
A- You can unroot simply by following the steps in section A and not continuing with the rest of the guide.
Q- I encountered a problem, what now?
A- If the problem is related to this guide and the steps followed in this guide, then post it here, I'll try to help when possible. If you encountered a general problem not related to this guide, please post a thread in the Q&A/Troubleshooting section.
ROM Recommendations
If you want a fully stable ROM, with everything working, Cyanogenmod or Cyanogenmod based ROMs currently do not fit the cirteria, as they some bugs still remain in these. So, you may try one of the stock based ROMs.
[AOSP Themed] - JellyMod - by martin_carpio17 Link here
[S4 Themed] - Light JB - by petraru1 Link here
[AOSP Themed] - Pure Vanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
[Xperia UI Themed] Galaxperia - by Achyut Link here
However, if you'd still like to go for most change, and don't mind the small bugs, then you may try Cyanogenmod or the Cyanogenmod based ROMs below.
Cyanogenmod 10 - by diego-ch and other contributing developers Link here
MIUI v4 - by fedevd Link here
Paranoid Android Port - by nlygamz Link here
Cyanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
This is basically it for this tutorial! Finally eh? But really now, all the above is very very easy once you get used to it, I mean, all the sections in the guide, A, B and C can all be done in 5 minutes, but I've simplified everything as to suite everyone's experience.
Hopefully this guide was useful for you...
If I made any mistakes with this, please correct me

A million thanks for the guide .. I've installed Jetmod 4.0 and it's running fine. My only concern is that I created a backup of my previous ROM in the internal storage and now just 33MB space is available for installation of apps. Can you please tell me how to 1. Remove the backup, or 2. Move it to the external storage ?
Thanks !
Go to "my files" - internal (sdcard0 I suppose) select what file u want to move an move to external memory (sdcardExt).

I have already tried that, but I am not able to identify the backup. I had used to TWRP to backup and then flash JellyMod. I had looked up on some threads that the backup will be in SD -> TWRP -> Backups (or something similar to this), but there is no such folder in my phone.
:crying:

Look for it using Root Explorer (download the app from the play store).

in your file manager browse to ext_sd. from within ext_sd you should have a folder labeled nandroid..
also, by default, the backups should be labeled/dated accordingly..
you could also get details on each file from within file manager that will give you more specific info. date created, etc..
hope this helps..
Thanks guys, but I think I didn't make myself clear. The backup is present in the 2GB memory reserved for installing apps. How do I access that storage and remove the backup? I'm an android beginner, so pls have patience with me.

Unique ECHOE-ROM Flashing-Guide
since v5 to v37 and up, still the best guide!
Always have a NANDROID Backup before changing anything on your device!
Please make a backup of your APP´s with e.g. Titanium-Backup to restore them after flashing!
Also it is advisable to make a backup of your contacts!
Note: You might have ROOT before getting custom recovery (CWM, TWRP, PhilZ) to work!
Flash MGA based Pre-Rooted ROM from DjeMBeY or ROOT your Phone to get it!
Users with NEW Bootloader simply flash a MI8 or higher pre-rooted ROM!
You have to build your System completely new to get a 100% working ECHOE ROM!
No "dirty flash" without wipe! Make it like I describe now or leave this Guide immediately!
You need the following for your Galaxy S4 I9505:
Device fully charged! =D--._.-----
Samsung USB connection cable to connect phone to PC
Micro SD-Card Reader for your PC (only if you have a micro-SD Card in the phone)
Samsung USB driver for PC Click here!
Latest Philz Touch Recovery Click here!
Odin (latest) ........................ Click here!
ECHOE ROM ....................... Click here!
Modem Collection .............. Click here!
Perhaps CSC Changer App Click here!
DOWNLOAD MODE:
(for Odin operations (.tar.md5 Files))
NOTE: You might have to extract downloaded .RAR file to get the inserted .tar .md5 file!
From switched OFF phone push the power button until the S4 vibrates, IMMEDIATELY push "volume DOWN" to enter download mode.
Push volume UP when you be asked!
Connect the Phone to PC with USB connection cable!
RECOVERY MODE:
(for Recovery operations (.zip Files)):
From switched OFF phone push the power button until the S4 vibrates, IMMEDIATELY push "volume UP" to enter recovery mode.
Process:
Prepare Phone:
1: ROOT YOUR PHONE like described above (if it´s not already rooted)!
2: Flash Philz Touch Recovery with Odin (as "PDA" or new Odin as "AP") or SGS4 flasher APP!
... Look at the above line "RECOVERY MODE" in this Guide how to start!
... If Philz Recovery asks you to fix ROOT (after you choose Reboot Now) choose NO !!!
Prepare SD-Card:
If you don´t have a Micro-SD Card just copy the downloaded EchoeRom ZIP to the internal SD!
3.: Switch OFF your phone and take out the micro SD-Card
4.: Put the micro SD-Card in a card reader and delete the folder ".android_secure"
.... It might work without deleting the ".android_secure" if you come from older ECHOE ROM Version (not tested by me)
5.: Copy the downloaded EchoeRom ZIP to the micro SD-Card
6.: Put the micro SD-Card back into the phone (DONT BOOT UP THE PHONE WITH INSERTED micro SD-Card, ".android_secure" is written again)!
Cleaning Phone:
7.: To completely clean your S4 and get rid of all older remaining´s you now start into Recovery Mode
... Look at the above line "RECOVERY MODE" in this Guide how to start!
8.: In the Settings of Philz Recovery choose:
8a: Advanced: Wipe Dalvic Cache
8b: Wipe Cache Partition
8c: Wipe Data/Factory Reset / Factory Reset
8d: Wipe Data/Factory Reset / "Clean before flash new ROM"
... Note: You have to flash a new ROM after doing point 8d !!!
... Stay into the Philz Recovery and read ahead!
Flashing ECHOE ROM:
9.: Because you stay into Philz Recovery hit the option "Install ZIP" then hit "choose zip from/storage/sdcard1" or internal SD and choose the EchoeRom ZIP
10.: After the flashing process finished go back to main menu and choose "Reboot System Now"
..... If Philz Recovery asks you to fix ROOT (after you choose Reboot Now) choose NO !!!
First Start:
11.: The first time the phone boot up take about 3-4 minutes
12.: After the phone has started do furthermore NOTHING for about 5 minutes (let the system set up in calm)
13.: Switch OFF the phone with the power-button
Flashing another Modem for your Echoe ROM Version (if the included modem is not working properly):
14.: Boot device into Download-Mode from switched off device (important)!
15.: Connect Phone to PC with the Samsung USB Cable!
16.: In Odin remove the "Auto Reboot" hook
17.: In Odin click on PHONE or newer Odin click on CP, load your Modem and press START
18.: Wait 3-4 minutes till there is a message: All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
19.: Hold Power-Button for 10 seconds till phone resets (you feel the vibration)

I can't find an .android_secure folder anywhere on my SD card.
Just checked and the checksum is correct:
MD5 (/Users/Hate/Downloads/Echoe Illusion Rom v6_28Oct.zip) = 0fba4efafe95457a934cb50946bf552e
Same one as listed at http://d-h.st/AX5 the download link.
Prehaps the upload is corrupt?
Can anyone provide me with an alternative link? I don't want the themed version.
I'm trying downloading it with a different browser however I really cant see chrome being any problem at all?
Please someone help, I'm stuck with an expensive brick currently Well semi-brick :'(
I'd ideally like to fix it as its my only alarm clock!
Thanks
Hmmmmmm.
Just downloaded the themed version,
Wiped everything as instucted ( noticed it said Formatting external_sd/.android_secure despite me checking many time before and its not there, not even a hidden file or folder )
Getting the exact same error Can't open... bad...Can anyone help this is driving me crazy!
All the md5 hashes match
Thanks

Did flashed the ROM like described above?
Did you use the inbuilt Faux Kernel?
Have you flashed the Modem like described in Point #18 ?
What is your Bootloader (old or new (with or without Knox)?
This works flawless! Many people have confirmed! :good:
This flashing method is beyond any doubt, it MUST work if you dont have made thinks wrong!

Never mind, this folder is written from the System itself (after first booting up).

Flash a stock ROM with Odin first and then go ahead!
For new Bootloader you have to flash stock .tar.md5 XXUEMJ5 Firmware with ODIN.
For old Bootloader you have to fllash stock .tar.md5 XXUEMGA Firmware with ODIN.
Flash stock ROM with my Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46399517#post46399517
So you should have a starting point to continue with the ECHOE ROM Flashing guide!

I flashed like described in point 18. I don't know what bootloader I have and I'm not sure about the kernel.

Did you ever flashed a ROM higher than MGA or MH1 you have the NEW Bootloader!
Flash it like I described in my Best ROM Flashing Guide (in my Sig)!
Then continue with this ECHOE ROM Flashing Guide!
Hi, really like your threads and just discovered this one.
I have a android.secure folder on my external sd card but am wondering, why I can't just delete that one, boot into recovery, wipe and flash the new ROM. In your steps you recommend to take out the card, put it into a card reader, delete the folder, put ROM on external sd card, put card in phone and boot into recovery. Wouldn't that be the same as if I delete it on my phone with a file Explorer and booting into recovery?
Or is this folder recreated while shutting the phone down?
Also, could you explain a bit why this particular folder can make problems?
Thanks in advance!!

I know mate!
I couldn´t delete the .android.secure folder from phone within! I think its used from System and should not be deleted while the system is runnig.
I don´t know what errors/problems this folder could make, I always removed it first.
I think friedrich420 has written that it should be deleted because of making problems when switching from stock ROM to e.g. ECHOE ROM!
SLIM - Yes, Full - No
Hi!
Huge Fan of Echoe Rom. I have a very weird issue with the echoe celstial voices goint to echoe illusion v7. Flashed celestial voices and worked like a charm. Then Illusion V6 Full came up. So downloaded and flashed it. Again worked like a charm. Then I tried the slim version and from there, something weird happened. echoe illusion v6 slim with no kitchen worked out fine, but game me random resets and freeze. So i tried goin back to full. But I cant flash the full version. But can go back to slim without a problem. tried it 20 times now but still getting stucked at boot logo. then v7 came out and still same results.
Cant post to echoerom thread directly due to restrictions. Please advice as to what should i do. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, me with another question regarding external sd + android_secure.folder:
I should take out the external sd, delete the folder and put the ROM on the external sd card. Now when i boot right into revovery will the folder be created again? Cause then it would make more sense to leave external sd card out and put the ROM on internal sd card and flash from there.
As I usually do a fullwipe, including formating internal sd card the ROM would be formated as well. So the ROM needs to be on the external sd card, but then again the android_secure folder might be created while booting up in recovery...i hope you understand my dilemma. :silly:

Man! The folder is created from the Android System not from recovery!
Make it like I said in the Guide and that's it!

DUUUUDE!!
Thanks so much for the hint with android_secure folder! #
I had this weird issue that after flashing Echoe ROM Slim Version 3-6 that while booting up for the first time after flashing 4 apps where installed which where totally bloat stuff (such as "mytaxi" and some other shi*t)
I have a "free" Phone, so i always wondered what is happening as this couldn´t come from any "carrier" service. I also formated my external sd card but the problem was still there when i installed Slim V6.
With your methoed this time NO bloat App was installed after the reboot!
Thank you so much, i finally figured out what was causing this! :good:
