[Q] Help!!Network Lost, IMEI number lost, Cant use network - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Phone: Samsung galaxy S 4G ( SGH-T959V)
ROM: CM 7.1
I was using my gadget comfortably for a long time. Suddenly, i lost my mobile network and couldnt make calls. I tried to check network status in
SETTINGS->ABOUT PHONE. There was no help. The IMEI number seems to be lost too. i tried changing the ROM . The results were same. Please Help!!

Look in the development thread grab a one click from the heimdall one click thread and flash back to stock.

The problem is the computer does'nt recognize my phone.. In order to use HEIMDALL, a valid USB connection should exist for communication between the device and the PC.
i have installed all the drivers. Tried to connect with different cables and different platforms(computer). what can i do? Please help!

Have you tried a different usb port? I use the one on the front for heimdall and one on the back for Odin. Most would recommend the back ports.
Delete all drivers and let heimdall reinstall them.

Yes I tried everything. Is there anything I can do? Is there ODIN supported for this phone?

is there any flashable stock rom available for this DEVICE? PLease help!!

[Q] IMEI Restore Program Problem

So, I'm an idiot and didn't back up my IMEI before flashing some roms. Flashed the new modem then lost all signal. I have been trying to follow the steps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867442. When I try to connect to the right com port the program locks up. I've downloaded the drivers again, and the .net framework.
Anyone have any ideas?
Well, I tried my wife's PC and that fixed my problem.
I don't know if my ASRock USB drivers don't work well with the samsung drivers, but I've never been able to transfer files or work with Odin. Anyways, I got it fixed.
Gald to hear your back up and running!

[Q] Bricked/fixable?

I rooted a d2vzw yesterday and it was running like a champ on stock root. Today, when I went to install AOKP build 4 on it, I get a screen that says, "System software not authorized by verizon has been detected on your phone. please turn off your phone and take it to verizon for help."
I tried using odin to save it but I cant get odin to recognize the device. So, that being said, why did this happen, how do I get odin to recognize the device, and is it possible to save?
It happened because your boot loader is not unlocked. I'm not sure why Odin isn't recognizing your phone. Are the drivers installed? You will need to Odin back to stock so try different cables or a different computer.
Sent from my S3 running Eclipse 2.1
As already stated, double check that you have the proper drivers installed from here http://tinyw.in/Fdoz
Also, try another USB port, avoid using a USB hub if possible (perhaps try a port on the back instead of front, or opposite side if on a mobile).

Why s3 is not recognized in dm.+modem+rmnet

I have a big problem... My gt i9300 has lost the imei after
A several flash by Odin.. Probably I got the imei in 4.3 jb f/w.
But I was using 4.1 which is my original.. I followed process of flash and
I flashed it on 4.1 french firmware but I won't get my imei..
Then I found lots of methods to get imei back..
But almost all the method's required my phone should be in dm+rmnet +modem
Mode... I had a put my phone in respective mode but it won't be able to connect to pc in such kind of mode.
It's showing usb won't recognized... But it connected in mtp mode which is useless for those methods.
Please if someone have solution for these reply me.. Thanks a lot.

What computer OS are you running? Ive heard xp works the best and win 8 is the worst for this kind of thing.
I had the same problem on my win8 machine. I tried it again on an older win xp machine and it recognized it right away in dm+rmnet+modem mode. on COM port 10. So I was able to use EFS tools to restore my IMEI.
Also, this should be in Q&A/Troubleshooting section. So don't be surprised if this thread gets moved or deleted.

custom roms call text problem

I had rooted my s3 and put a custom rom on so that i could use it on tmobile. im back on verizon and i took it to get setup and now i have data and no working call or mms. Ive even reflashed different roms and still it doesnt work. I cant return it to factory because odin will not pick my phone up no mater what port or cable i use. So the guides to reset using odin are useless to me now. I have newest samsung usb drivers installed and ive already tried installing keis which also wont register the phone in download mode. What could be causing this problem with data working but no call or text ability.
another not to ad is that with every rom i have installed windows 8.1 says the usb device malfunctioned everytime i plug it in with 6 different cables that work with other phones. I checked and my imei is not bared so that is not the reason like it has been for others.

[Q] Restore stock firmware via SD card

I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G (SGH-T959V) with kernel 2.6.35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130. I took this phone to a place to get it unlocked, but now it does not recognize any SIM card nor can I connect it to my pc or laptop via USB. I have been looking all over for ways to restore the firmware, but I can only find ways that require download mode and a fully functional USB connection. I downloaded and installed the Samsung USB drivers, but I can only get the message that the phone is malfunctioning and remains undetected to Odin and Heimdall.
I am not able to find a reference on how to flash my phone from the SD card and I am not sure which files I need to put onto the SD card to even attempt it. Could someone please help and include links to stock firmware files?

Well, it sounds as if you have two separate issues.
1) No SIM cards are recognized. Do you know if you have an IMEI number still? You can find it by either typing in *#06# in the dialer or by going to Settings, About Phone, and Status. If you have a string of numbers, then you're probably good. If its all 0's or *'s, then your efs partition is probably messed up. In which case things get complicated (especially if you don't have a backup of the efs partition) and just restoring the stock firmware probably won't help.
2) You cannot get your PC to recognize the phone. I assume this means that you cannot transfer any files to it either (ie Mass Storage Device does not work) as well as Odin/Heimdall not recognizing it. I'm assuming you can get into Download Mode?
The first things to try would be a different USB port and/or cable and/or PC. Is there anything showing up in Device Manager? Another thing to try would be to download a LiveCD of a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint. If it gets recognized there (type in the command "lsusb" at a command line/terminal) then its a problem with the Windows drivers. Don't try this right away unless you have a good internet connection as its a fairly hefty download.
In order to get back to stock from the SD card and without download mode, you will need a custom recovery. While you gave your kernel version, a little more info would be helpful. Are you currently on the stock rom? If yes, do you have a custom recovery or custom kernel installed and are you rooted? If not, which ROM are you using?
Welcome to the forums!
Thanks for the reply. I know this will probably scar me for life, but I just figured out I was putting the SIM card in wrong. Now the USB works great.
