Sony smartwatch Has Stopped Receiving Any Notifications? - Sony Smartwatch

I've had my Sony Smartwatch for a week and for some reason earlier today it stopped receiving notifications. My partner has one also and I checked my settings against hers and all is correct.
It connects to Bluetooth and the clock works, fine and it stays connected.
I've tried doing a reset but it still doesn't work.
Short of completely uninstalling everything I don't know what else to do.
Has this happened to anybody else?

are you using a specific app for deliver the notifications?
Have you installed some app to controll permissions, internet conections or something like that?

I haven't got a dedicated notifier. I just have Facebook and Twitter, as I've said it was all working fine up until yesterday.

What about the second question?
Have you checked that you still are logined on that services? Also have you checked the settings of that plugins? There you can set what kind of notifications to receive.

Oh I forget to tell you, I have experienced something similar in the past with the music player widget (when I don't use walkman) sometimes the widget stopped working and I used to uninstall it and reinstall it again to get properly working again.

I have the same Problem with the Music Application. Only a hard Reset helps... But that can't be the solution! I reinstalled it many times, but the Problem is not solved.

[Solved] Market not connecting properly

I am getting this issue since morning. Market loads up with base screen, and then from there on messes up by saying "Error retrieving information from the server. [DF-PFA-02]" or something like that. Most common error is "Connection timed out." and shows a Retry button.
Its happening on WiFi too, not just data. I have full signal where I am!!!
Is this happening to anyone else too? Looks like some issue in market app servers.
Things I tried:
1. Clearing market cache
2. Uninstalling updates
3. Rebooting
Neg...just dl from GP and ran an update on a couple of apps both data & me WIFI....no issues sir.

It is updating/installing apps. That's no issue. But I am getting these connectivity issues like about 50% of the times.
Well.. That's what happens on betas... They aren't perfect.
Maybe try reflashing it..

Oh no! I flashed the Zeus Beta only today morning (I've been on Beta since its release and never once had any issue with market).
same problem
hi im having the same problem on sgs2 i9100.. stock rom/firmware, I think it's a market issue, not to do with your custom rom.
for those who don't get an error, try to install "slash'em"
Right. Looks like this issue got resolved.
Yup, seems to have resolved itself.
A quick resolution.
I have found a solution to this issue for GSM phones. The only reason I am posting on a year old thread is this is the first search result for this issue on Google. If this issue does not resolve itself as it did for these guys, do the following:
1. Power Down the phone.
2. Remove the SIM.
3. Power the phone back On.
4. Go to the App or Applications menu and select the All tab to view all installed applications.
5. Find the Google Play services and Google Play Store, clear all data for both of these applications.
6. Start the Play Store and log-in.
7. Power Down the phone and replace the SIM card.
Upon restarting the phone, the Play Store should now work without issue.
How do you log in to the playstore without your sim? Did you connect to wifi?

[Sw2] Disconnecting once a minute

Hi all,
I've just got my Sw2 and I'm using it with my Z (4.3). It keeps disconnecting. I was using CM11 just fine and went back to 4.3 (stock) to solve my problem with no succes at all. Stil disconnecting.
I have the latest software, no other choice. And even with no extra apps installed it reconnects allot.
I've read about LG users having issues but Sony is marketing the watch for my Z, it should at least connect
Anyone else has this problem?
It's unusable....
Edit:
When connecting to Sony Update, it updates every time. I dont know if this is normal or my SW2 is DOA and won't save the update. After de SW2 update and connecting it updates again trough the phone.
"When the SW2 disconnected, touch "home" and "setup" then "apps". The apps installed will be loaded on to the screen, and you will have the problem solved." -Maxels on SE forum
Worked for me. Tried everything. Roms, settings, apps, phones.
See if it lasts. I hate having 0 logging on the phone :/
For me to disable Google search apk helped. Don't know if related but since I did it my watch stopped disconnect randomly. I think is some Sony memory management problem. I have Sony SP, stock 4.3.

Bluetooth Auto Connect apk from play store will fix all the blue tooth frequent disconnections. I was quite frustrated with my sw2 until I found that apk. Hit thanks if this post helped you in anyway.

Stock applications. Messager, call handling, gmail.
Everythink is fine after reboot, but 1-2 minutes and status bars only
What phone do you run it on?

It looks like either the Smartwatch 2 app or Smart Connect stop working properly, or are blocked by some other app (like a battery saver/privacy app). I suggest that you investigate in this direction.

Gmail smart extras and sms = same issue...

Hi all,
I Have been looking for an answer to my problem with no success...
Here it is: yesterday, suddenly both sms and gmail apps stopped displaying all my messages. Only the latest 5 would be displayed on my watch. This happened at the same time for both extensions. I had been using my watch for months with about 20 messages in my gmail account and dozens of sms, all displayed on my watch with no problem, available even offline.
Tried to uninstall reinstall apps, reset the smartwatch, nothing solved the problem
Anybody observed this before?
Thanks a lot in advance !!
+1

[Q] Gear 2 on Note 3 Lollipop not reconnecting

Hi,
I have a strange issue that only seems to affect my Gear 2 - everything else on Lollipop seems OK.
I am running the leaked stock ROM N9005XXUGBNL8 - rooted. I have also loaded the latest Gear Manager - 2.2.14112899.
When I turn on the watch or Phone, the devices connect correctly, and everything seems to work well. My problem is when I move out of range. The watch shows that the Bluetooth disconnects, but the phone still thinks that it is connected. When i move back into range, the phone and watch remain disconnected unless I manually reconnect by turning the phones Bluetooth off and then on again.
I have reloaded both the phone and watch, but still have the same issue. Sine the Lollipop ROM has not yet been formally released, I cannot ask Samsung for help, so if anyone can suggest a solution, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance, Richard
Hello,
I have the same problem with note 3 lollipop and gear 2.
I hope there will be a fix when lollipop arrives officially.
Best regards

Thanks for the reply - at least I am not alone in this and that I am not imagining he issue
I also similar issue. Sometimes it reconnects automatically and other times I should manually reconnect from the Gear Manager.
Lets wait for the final Lollipop release
I am also facing the same problem. I reloaded the gear application twice and also flashed the ROM again after factory resetting the Note 3 but no change. Hope will get the solution soon.
Facing similar problem. After latest update of Note4 (still 4.4.4) watches not reconnect and bluetooth switches off. To manually reconnect i need to press "connect" in watches AND in gear manager. If i just turn on bluetooth watches connects and instantly disconnects turning bluetooth off.
The Gear Manager today updated to 2.2.15011799.
I do not know if this has improved matters yet, but will post if it does.
Update,
Seems to disconnect OK, but will not reconnect automatically. I don't know what is wrong with Samsung, but this really hampers the use of the watch.
After the update today, it works perfectly now!
It seems, the gear manager was the bad guy!
Best regards

Still does not really work for me. I need to toggle bluetooth on the phone after a disconnect, but not every time.
Next day the same problems. But the gear is now faster connecting and transferring data. Before the update the gear taken 20 or 30 seconds to sync the calendar app. Now it's open Instantly.

Had the same problem as well but downloaded "bluetooth auto connect" from the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.myklos.btautoconnect&hl=en and this seems to have resolved the bluetooth connectvity problem. My gear 2 connects everytime.
Good luck

I recently updated Gear Manager on my Note 3 running the leaked Lollipop 5.0. ALthough my gear 2 and manager works I have noticied that the Gear (watch) Icon which normally appears on the top left of the screen is no longer there. The gear notification messgae is still there. Anybody with a similiar issue?
Same here.
Also tried the Bluetooth auto connect, but this does not seem to work. Can you share the settings you used?
Thanks

I have noticed some more detail:
When i go out of range, the watch disconnect but often, the phone still seems to think the watch is connected. However, when I check the phones bluetooth setting, the watch is connected, but the Phone Audio is disabled. Occasionally, only a reboot will cure this.
I have also spotted several other issues relating to Bluetooth and Lollipop on the XDA forums, such as intermittent connection to Car phone systems, which I have also noticed. I am beginning to suspect that the main problem here is with the Lollipop bluetooth rather than specifically with the Gear. The ensd result is the same - a system that does not work correctly that should be supported and fixed by Samsung.
I have just upgraded the room to the Polish ROM released yesterday and carried out a factory reset.
I still have the same issues. It seems fairly clear that the phone does not recognise that the phone goes out of range and so status connected.
Given Up
I have given up and reverted to the Stock KitKat ROM. Guess what? everything now works.
I don't think that Android 5 is ready yet - will now wait for 5.1
Search for S6 apps (it is on in xda-developers forum as well). There is a version of the Gear Manager that solves the reconnect issue. I tested it shortly and it works on official lollipop for Note3.
EDIT: After some reboots, recconects are not working properly again.
Any news on how to solve this guys? Same problem here...

Do you face this problem too?
Hi!
This is the problem with me too! Not reconnecting. Do you have any solutions?
