Non-Glossy replacement back cover? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Hi,
Are there any third party back covers that arent't glossy/shiny as the stock one?
I'm looking for one with a matte finish or just textured. I don't want to use a case, just want to replace the back cover.

Id try ebay. They have tons with different backs **** carbon fiber or aluminum finish etc.

Will take a look!

Please let me know if you find a real carbon fiber replacement back cover

I have a new black carbon fiber cover , pm if interested.

You can try here:
http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/Carbon-F...ll_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item53fa991c64&_uhb=1
I have one (bought from another seller) and it's awesome!!

Had the same cover on my S3 for 6 months and was the first thing i ordered when i got the S4 It looks expensive , cant be scratched and protects the camera lens a little bit more than the std back cover causes its a couple of mm thicker.

I found two different ones on ebay.
Damn, can't post the links...
One of them is linked in the thread. It has the glossy plastic frame around it.
The other back cover I found, has a smaller plastic frame.

I've always had luck with these guys: Cellular Nationwide Network. I bought the Black Mist battery cover with black leather insert, and love it.

Faux aluminum edges

For those that go naked (no case), have you gotten any scratches on the fake aluminum edges?
I'd like to use no case and have a screen protector & back skin but worried about scratches on the edges.

I bought one for my S3, those things are so cheap and crappy I wasted my money. However I bought a nice from Draco Designs ( which wasn't cheap) but definitely quality. FYI I emailed them this morning and they replied that one for the S4 will be available next week.
So far I have had no case on my phone (about a month) and there are no scratches. I have only a "Just Like Glass" screen protector
This is what I just put on mine.

Skin provides nice traction as opposed to stock slick back cover. Edge skins included.
The sides scratch very easily! I highly recommend some type of protection if you intend on keeping your device in mint condition!
Its actually nice metal on the s4 so not the plastic coating like on the s3

Not the metal trim ring around the phone itself, but the chrome bezel that's bordering the display has scratched fairly easily on both mine and my wife's with some minor drops. I definitely wish I would've got a case for outings sooner.
The aluminum trim around the outside of the phone however has remained scratch free on both.
Mine has a small ding in it, and I don't ever recall really dropping it. It does bother me though, and I'm certain I had to have dropped it at some point, as it's on the bottom.

I second the Neo Hybrid. I bought my S4 about a week ago (changed from the OG note) and spigen is completely wrapping it with the screen protector and the Neo since day 3 (had to order the case lol). it doesn't add too much bulk, it levels out the back so your phone isn't resting on your camera when you set it down and it provides a lip so you can set it face down and won't even touch the screen protector and for a total of $30 my phone is completely covered and not too much bulk added.
Also NFC works and rumor has it wireless charging should work too.
Its the best case I have purchased, Im about to buy the Glass Screens from Spigen.
I skipped the glas.t and went to their Ultra crystal screen protector. Over in the i717 section there's a HUGE thread going over the Glas.t and they started out awesome but the later posts say that they're getting peeling up after a couple months and was probably due to a change in the adhesive. Plus with the extra thickness of the glas.t the home button would be recessed, with the Ultra crystal the button is level with the screen protector. And at $7 for the ultra clear you get 2 and MUCH easier to apply.
Been completely naked on mine for about a month. No scratches on the glass, chrome bezel, faux metal ring around the outside, or battery cover. I don't drop my phone, haven't ever shattered a screen in 5 years of having a smart phone. I keep it alone in a pocket, and that's it. All my phones have been treated this way. The One X looked like it went to hell and back after a few months, but my iPhones, Captivate, S II, and Note II all survived really well. My wife is not so gentle, just throws it in her purse. So she has a flip case on my old Note II she is now using.
The only place I have seen any of these phones show wear is on the back when they rub when placed flat. On the S II it was the lip below the battery door. On the S 4 it seems to be the bottom lip of the chrome around the camera lens. That small section is scuffed. Otherwise this naked phone is pristine after a month of use.

I was planing to buy that case, it looks great but the message at the bottom of the backside really bothers me, i wish they left it empty.
Wow this looks amazing
Do you recon it will fit with spigen TR GLASS?
looks like a aluminum neo hybrid, dont it?
Looks cool, but won't there be a concern with reduced reception because of the all metal body?
Just ordered one in black. Should be here on friday. Hopefully signal will be good and will fit with my spigen glass.
Full aluminium back =drop signal.....

I believe there is a review on youtube about this case. And it kills signal.
Cool
That's pretty cool. I liked the idea of putting a screw to hold the case, prevents it from detaching from the device in a fall.
However I'm pretty sure ther would be a bunch of people saying "cool iPhone you got there bro" ou "hey, I haven't this big new iPhone yet!"
Hi guys. I just received the case. Really mixed fillings. Have a look at pictures. I have to remove phone back cover as I have spigen TR glass on but fit is really good with no gaps and no creaking. Well made case but maybe I dont want aluminum after all . NO signal drop in my house with full HSPA before and after case on. Also as I removed back cover of phone weight remains virtually same as the case is probably less than 10 grams in weight.
Overall a good case, good fit and quality, no drop in signal in my house(dbm and asu remain same, cant test NFC) but Ill probably sent it back and get a noreve leather back case. Leather wins aluminum

Ringke Fusion ($13.99) vs Official Bumper ($12.95)

I was wondering which case is better than the other?
I'm looking to keep the nexus 4 slim, sexy, and functional.
I narrowed it down to these two cases because of the clicky tactile feels (on the fusion revision) and the original bumper while maintaining slimness.
I got the bumper a week after I received my phone. Well, not the official one, but a replica of the LG one that's sold in the Play Store. The one I received off Amazon seemed fine, but after about a week of normal use, 2 cracks appeared - one on the bottom where the USB is, and the other on the power button.
I think that they appeared because of plugging in the phone and clicking the power button turning it on and off. The material (metal-looking plastic) that surrounds the bumper is flimsy on it's own, and with a certain amount of pressure and heat from the phone, it's prone to cracking.
If you Google around you'll find that a lot of people have had the same problem with the official one. I bought the same bumper for my friend too, but his is holding up well so far, so I'm not sure. The bumper seemed to have a tighter fit on his N4 whereas mine felt a little loose. He has been using it for a couple months as his was the first wave of N4 that were shipped out. I just got mine a little less than a month ago.
Switched over to the Ringke Fusion based on the number of excellent reviews it got both on XDA and Amazon. Took about a week to get here and because it is the revision, the buttons are clicky and give a good feedback. The case also doesn't add much bulk at all. While I do like the heft of carrying around the phone naked, the glass panels scare me. I never used cases on my old phones, but then again, they were plastic and metal. They sure could take a hit!
The Fusion makes the N4 feel more solid as it is, and it works well with wireless chargers. The only complaint I have about it is the back clear plastic tends to dirty quite easily, with scuffs, fingerprints. But then again, who takes time out of their day to gander at the back of the phone. Sure it's pretty but you'll be spending more of your time messing around with the front.

I remember when i bought my N4, I kept buying different bumpers because either they were too tight [messed up my screen protector], too bulky or did not protect my phone good enough. In January, I bought Ringke Fusion; been using it since then . Its not one of those cheap bumpers, you will definitely feel the quality. Its fits the phone very well and you wont feel the size of it in your hand or in your pocket.

It's a replica. The real ones are sold on the play store. If it says official elsewhere and is less than the price you would normally pay, chances are it's not official. Anyone can say it's official but it isn't.

So the Google bumper on amazon is fake and the fusion case attracts a butt load of finger prints
I see that most people tell me that they are using bumper instead... What bumper? Poetic?

LOL I would personally get the Fusion, and yes, most bumpers online are replicas even if they are in LG packaging. The normal bumpers cost about 20bux (USD) so that's a good gauge in authentic or not.
There's a thread somewhere comparing the packaging but basically, if there's a holo sticker on the back, mine is square that reads "Original accessories by LG".
GL
Bumper
Wider
Looks better
Less protection
Ringke
Better protection
Lets you create custom designs to insert behind the plastic
horrible protruding creases on the back of the case. - rough to the touch
picks up fingerprints and dust way too easily.
I use bumper for everyday use and if i'm going to be somewhere outside for a long while where i won't have a place to put my phone safely away i use the ringke.

Yes it fits fine. I have a custom and that's technically two skins of thickness in my areas and fits fine.

Stickerboy skins??

Kinda want to get a skin for my S4 for a while now and Ive looked at other companies that do skins but I was interested more in Stickerboy because they got a wide selection of skins. I want the carbon fiber sides and aluminum back cover skin but just wondering if anybody here has past experience with their products...Or if its a worthy buy.

Another user on this forum mentioned that these skins remove the paint from the back cover when they're taken off. Maybe use a cheap knockoff cover just in case.

3rd Party Back Covers: Kevlar, Denim, Metal, etc.?

Ever since I saw that Note 4 leak during the summer I've wanted that rough textured back cover, similar to what the One Plus One has in Sandstone Black. Anyone seen 3rd party back covers appear anywhere? I haven't seen any and that's disappointing.
I had one for my Note 3. The back cover is thicker, you can't put any case on it. If you use your phone naked then invest in one. The aluminum one that I had looks pretty cool.

Check skinomi and I phantomskins. They've got great stuff. Had a black and grey carbon fiber ones on my Droid X and GS3. Going with a case on the N4. Want to keep it pristine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I never use a case so I'm not worried about the back cover affecting the shape of the phone. I wish more official 3rd party companies would produce more of a variety.
I am sure in time you will have all kinds of cover available.
