How to Backup & Restore IMEI (Noob Friendly) - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

In this tutorial I will show you how to backup and restore your imei if it gets corrupted or lost in in some type of update.
1. Go to http://pikachukaki.googlecode.com/files/ToolBox5iromV1.0.4.2.apk and download 5iromtoolbox
2. Install the app and open it
3. Click on IMEI Backup and wait a bit, could take some time
4. After backup, to check if it was succesful, go to /sdcard/5irom. There should be a folder in there called imeibackup with 3 IMG files called 5.IMG, 10.IMG, 11.IMG.
5. Backup the 5irom folder on your computer for safe keeping.
6. If you wish to restore your lost/corrupted imei, place the 5irom folder back in the original directory, open the app and click IMEI restore.
7. Reboot your phone/tablet and to make sure the restore worked, go into dialer and type *#06# and it will display your imei
8. Enjoy your fixed galaxy s blaze 4g t769

Then I think the only option is to switch back to stock make a backup then switch again to your current ROM.
But isn't a simple copy & paste of the efs folder enough for backing it up ?
Or do we require this tool to make a backup ?
If you are having Root Explore then just copy it and put it in safe place that's enough, this tool will do the same..
Awesome and so easy Thanks did my N7000 Note and my I9000

Transfer Titanium backups to new phone?

I am getting a new phone tomorrow. Can I make backups of my apps with titanium and then just transfer the backups to my new phone, reinstall titanium and restore? I'd like to think it's a simple yes.

Yes.
Use TI to make the backups, copy the backup folder to the new phone (its super easy if they both have microSD),then reinstall TI and restore apps. Be careful with system apps as they probably will not work on the new phone unless it is the same model.
Bumping this thread because I want to be exactly sure.
I want to transfer my Ti backup of all my downloaded users apps & data from my current Nexus 7 to the new one I just purchased.
So if I go to File Explorer and go to my main SDcard directory :
/storage/emulated/0/
And scroll down until I see the folder labelled
TitaniumBackup
Copy the entire folder to USB drive and then copy that entire folder over to the SDcard storage in the new tablet
Once I reinstall amd start upTi backup, it should automatically recognize my apps backup from the TitaniumBackup folder, right?

[Q] Renaming Backups

I rooted and have the CWM Touch Recovery installed that I flashed through Odin when I was rooting it. When I make a backup, they seem to all be named with the same date backing to December 31, 1979?
Is there a way to rename my backups before they are made so that I can easily remember which one is which?
>_<

I still use ROM manager to rename the backup. I don't install with it, just backup.

My cwm saves 2013-06.21 format. There are some other numbers across there but I forgot them. What version does it say you are on.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda premium
I had the same issue with CWM on my GS3. I switched to TWRP. It allows me to set the backup name before I start the backup process.
I'm not sure if recent versions of CWM have this ability now. I haven't used it in wrote some time.

Nandroid manager from the play store will rename your cwm nandroid backups, and be reliable at doing it.

Clone/backup whole phone?

If say I want to send my phone in for a 1-to-1 exchange but find it too much of a hassle to set up everything again, is there a way to backup or clone the phone?
I have tons of apps and root tweaks on my Note 3 so and setting up everything again would probably take me days.
I was wondering if there's a solution for me to easily clone the phone and restore it to the new phone?

What i understand is that u are trying to replace ur phone with a brand new same model and would not like to spend time in setting up the same environment again.
If i am correct, then it is possible that u could have a nandroid backup of ur current phone's rom through the cwm & restore the same in the new phone using cwm.
Hit thanks rather than typing it now Free
Careful there...
If you do a nandroid backup via CWM, it means you made a backup of the whole of your device. Including your current ROM.. And after that you send the backup file to your new device, and restore it.
Not That Easy, pal !!
If your old device and the new one have different standard OS type, BOOM!! You will successfully make your new device bootloop, or even worse, Bricked!!
For example, your old device is sony Xperia (any type), and you want to restore it to your new device which is Samsung galaxy tab. You will break the Samsung for sure since both device is definitely different.
Even you have both Sony Xperia with different type, you have to find out if the ROM you want to move/clone is compatible with both of them..

What i do is:
- Backup your phone with CWM
- Install new ROM on new Phone
- Advanced Restore with CWM and i restore only DATA and everything runs fine.
But the recommended will be, backip up all your apps with data, like Titanium Backup, install new ROM on new phone then restore all your apps with Titanium Backup.
You will need to copy all your /sdcard content to the new phone, you can make an adb push:
adb pull /sdcard/ C:\MyBackup
and to the new phone
adb push C:\MyBackup /sdcard
Or just manually copy and paste to the new SD.

Efs issues

Some how my efs folder contents got deleted while flashing, or restoring a nand backup. Nothing crazy, but now only data works can't call, or receive texts. I've found some topics on this, none pertaining to the S5 how ever. So long story short my efs folder is empty, and I have no backup. I was wondering if there is some type of fix like this - http://zidroid.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-mount-efs-for-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/
I've also tried to reflash stock firmware via Odin with no luck.
Thanks for any help.

In your nandroid backup, did you select EFS?? If you did you can use Nandroid Manager Pro and extract your EFS files and be good to go!
Unfortunately my nand backups didn't work I tried restoring efs with them, and had no luck.

APN flash did nothing. But was able to call tech support, and did a "CHLS Refresh". I'm able to make/receive calls, and send/receive texts. However my efs folder is still empty, but everything works...

Every time I reboot my phone it still says I'm in Factory mode, efs folder is still empty. Is it time to bring it in? Lol

Bump
Sent from my SM-G900P using XDA Free mobile app
Finally after trying a few things I finally figured it out, and now have files in my EFS folder, and no longer boot into "Factory Mode".
Here are the steps I used -
Boot your device into recovery mode
Connect your device to PC via USB cable
In recovery mode Choose “mount and storage > mount /system”
Open ADB command window and type :
Code:
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
mount -w -t /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
reboot
Credits go to http://zidroid.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-mount-efs-for-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/ I just changed a few things to work with the Partition Table of the S5.
Maybe it's to late, but my galaxy s5 sm-g900f is dead. I've back up the efs partition with Samsung Tool Apk... and posted it here on mega if needed i can send you by private message.
