my phone's sd card slot is busted and i really need to download a couple of files and i was wondering there was a browser or trick that lets me be able to download files to internal memory, and also my hone is rooted and is running stock android 2.3.3.
Use another browser and change the download directory. Stock browser can't do so

Only a browser that support root access can only do that.

Can you see the contents of your SD card from a computer? Are you on a rooted device? Are you using a rom? Are you using a kernel? What version of CWM are you on, if you have it?

I can only see the files the system creates. I cannot view any of my personal files. No i am not rooted.

Sometimes it is the sdcard...if you have an android phone, can you see your files in the phone? You can try a different card or you can try to format that card in an android phone (saving your files elsewhere 1st, of course), or you can try to use a utility on your computer, I think it's a Panasonic formater (you could do a search on formating micro sdcards for use in the Xoom here in these fora).
Good luck!
Flashed cm7 and now trying to flash different modem through CWM. In root explorer I can see the modem.zip but I can't see any of the other rom.zips I keep on the root of my sdcard. Can't find them anywhere within root explorer in fact. So when I go to CWM to flash the modem.zip, I get the opposite...all other rom.zips and kernels are there but the new modem.zip is not?

Nothing?

Where are you copying the modem? Internal or external SD? External SD isn't visible in CWM (atleast on my phone).
If using clockwork mod as the above poster stated you have to copy the zips to the internal SD.

So does this mean that CM7 still cant 'see' extenal sd?
on IRC I was told to check /emmc but I did not find this with ES file explorer.
Am I missing something?

I literally JUST figured this out. For some reason, in root explorer, I have to put my downloaded zips (modems, kernels, roms, etc) in a folder on the root of my phone in a folder called emmc. This is new after flashing cm7 and somehow I guess I missed this helpful tip somewhere. Anyways. That is the folder in which I need to put items I want to flash through cwm. So sorted...
What's IRC? I apologize if this is obvious and missed that too lol!

How do I transfer downloads from maxthon browser to the root of my sd card.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
hhhhh......
when a download starts, it asks where you want to save it right??
do you look at that? and see where it's downloading at?
if it doesn't ask where to download (as i never used maxthon before), it's most probably in a folder called """DOWNLOADS""" that's magically created in your SD card.
Thanks for the reply and zI know that they usually go in the download folder but this time they did but I found then thanks..

Strange I can't download this one specific app "diptic" I'm getting the "insufficient storage" pop up. But I can download other apps n deleted them too.
Also, tried to push copy my apps to sd using TiBu .. no results. Tried LinksSD, no results.
Any suggestions. Posted print screens, too.

Use root explorer or es explorer and go into /data/app and delete the .odex file for the app you are trying to install.

So do the Stock Custom ICS (Beans, Synergy) have native a2sd functions?
Dunno if this will help but it did the trick on my last phone. Open root explorer and check the cache folder. I had an ota sitting there and the phone wouldn't download anything from the play store because of it. If something big is lurking there delete it.
